Thibaut Courtois is the highest-rated goalkeeper identified for EA SPORTS FC 27, with an overall rating of 90. Gianluigi Donnarumma follows at 89, while David Raya and Jan Oblak are tied at 88. Those are overall ratings—not a universal verdict on the best keeper for every mode: Career Mode rewards different considerations from Ultimate Team, where card versions and leaderboard methods matter.
Highest-rated goalkeepers in FC 27
EA’s indexed FC 27 goalkeeper ratings result names Courtois, Donnarumma and Raya among the highest-rated players. The FC 27 figures are also reflected in FAFIFA’s goalkeeper list, which sorts by overall rating and places Oblak ahead of Raya at their shared rating. In rating terms, however, they are tied.

| Goalkeeper | FC 27 overall rating | What the evidence establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Thibaut Courtois | 90 | Highest rating among the keepers identified by EA’s indexed result and FAFIFA’s list. |
| Gianluigi Donnarumma | 89 | Second-highest rating in those lists. |
| David Raya | 88 | Named by EA among the highest-rated keepers; tied with Oblak by rating. |
| Jan Oblak | 88 | Tied with Raya by rating; FAFIFA orders him first among the pair. |
EA’s FC 27 goalkeeper ratings result was indexed with FC 27 data, but the page content returned on direct opening was labeled FC 26. The figures above are supported by the indexed result and FAFIFA’s FC 27 list; the mismatch means the live EA page should not be treated as a cleanly verified FC 27 page.
Choosing a goalkeeper for Career Mode
For a Career Mode signing, the highest overall rating is only one part of the decision. FAFIFA’s FC 27 goalkeeper list, labeled with data from 20 August 2026, includes overall rating, potential, age, transfer value and wage. Use those fields to compare an immediate starter with a younger or more affordable option.

- Planning for the future? Compare potential and age alongside present ability, rather than assuming the highest-rated keeper is the best long-term signing.
- Managing a limited budget? Weigh listed transfer value and wage against rating and potential.
Potential describes a listed development measure; it does not establish how a player will progress in every individual save.
Choosing a goalkeeper for Ultimate Team
Ultimate Team comparisons need to identify the exact card. A player may have a standard card and one or more special versions, and their attributes can differ. FUT.GG’s FC 27 goalkeeper list ranks cards using its own GG Rating, not EA’s official overall-rating order. The displayed selection includes standard, special, Hero and Icon cards.

What EA’s ratings represent
EA’s FC 27 ratings announcement describes its database as covering 21,000+ players across 800+ clubs and national teams, 140 stadiums and 35+ leagues. EA says those ratings “authentically represent The World’s Game”; that is EA’s description of its database, not independent validation of individual ratings. The announcement confirms that FC 27 ratings were released, but the overall goalkeeper ratings remain a different question from which card or signing will suit a particular team.
