Dynata Calls: Why You Get Them and How Dynata Compares With Other Survey Callers

If you receive a call displaying “Dynata,” it may be an invitation to participate in survey research: Dynata says it uses telephone sampling, including landline and mobile calls. The label alone does not prove who is calling, however, and the company’s general description cannot identify the purpose of a particular call.

Why do I get Dynata calls?

Dynata describes itself as a provider of survey research sampling and technology. Its privacy policy says it connects clients with consumer and business respondents using internet, telephone, postal and multi-mode methods, and that its clients include for-profit and nonprofit organizations, universities and government organizations. Its methodology page also lists phone and SMS outreach alongside public-opinion polling, brand tracking, creative testing and other research approaches.

That makes a research invitation a plausible reason for a Dynata call, but these broad company descriptions do not establish which client, study or purpose prompted any one call. They also do not establish that a call is authentic simply because the caller ID displays Dynata. The sources reviewed do not describe a caller-ID authentication method.

What to do if Dynata calls

Ask about a call

If you want to ask whether a call was connected with Dynata, the company lists 1-866-360-9678 within North America and 1-801-379-4094 outside North America for call-related questions. For an unexpected call, a cautious option is to end it and use the contact details on Dynata’s official “Called By Dynata?” page rather than relying on the caller-ID label. This is a precaution, not a verification process Dynata says it provides.

Request no more survey phone calls

Dynata says people can request placement on its no-contact list by calling 1-833-757-1746 from within North America or 1-801-341-0764 from outside North America. These are the numbers published on the company’s contact page; check that page for current details before calling.

Dynata’s general privacy policy also says it does not cover information collected through survey panels or communities operated by or on its behalf. If your question concerns a particular panel or survey, do not assume the general policy describes every data practice involved; check the relevant survey or panel’s own information.

Dynata vs other survey calling services

The available company notices support a limited, descriptive comparison—not a ranking. Dynata’s pages describe telephone access to audiences and a range of research methods. Kantar’s US survey research notice says its telephone or in-person interviewers identify themselves and state the purpose of contact; it also says participants may decline questions or leave a study. Kantar’s UK/US consulting survey notice lists purposes such as understanding views or behavior, validating earlier answers, administering participation and conducting follow-up research. It says contact details may come from a client, sample provider, public sources, an earlier recruiter or a prior agreement to be recontacted.

Kantar’s descriptions apply to the notices’ stated scope, not necessarily every Kantar division or call. The available pages do not provide comparable independent evidence on provider quality, price, response rates or call frequency, so they do not support a claim that Dynata or Kantar is better overall.

Comparison point Dynata Kantar
Contact methods described Telephone, including landline and mobile, as well as internet, postal and multi-mode research, according to its company privacy policy. Telephone or in-person interviews are described in the US survey research notice.
Purpose and interviewer identification Its general pages describe research services, but do not establish the purpose of an individual call or a caller-ID authentication process. The US notice says interviewers identify themselves and state the purpose of contact. The consulting notice lists several research purposes, within its stated scope.
Contact details and participant choices The “Called By Dynata?” page gives a route to request no further survey phone calls; the general privacy policy excludes certain panel and community data collection. The cited notices describe participant choices and possible sources of contact details; they do not establish one universal practice across all Kantar services.
Independent comparative evidence Not established by the cited company pages. Not established by the cited company pages.

To compare providers for your own purposes, look at the contact method, what the provider says about why it contacts people, its opt-out and privacy routes, and whether independent evidence supports claims about quality or performance. The notices cited here are company statements, not comparative audits.
