That is Sho’s personal preference—not an announcement that Koei Tecmo has cancelled future remasters. He reportedly said a strong performance by Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered could improve the chances of remastering Dynasty Warriors 4 and later games.
What Sho said about making more remasters
Sho’s comments came in an interview published around the release of Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered. VGC reports that Sho, who has worked on the franchise since Dynasty Warriors 2 and is now its producer, described the new edition as nearly a complete remake and said bringing it to release took years.

In VGC’s English rendering of the 4Gamer interview, Sho said: “I’m in my 50s now, and I sometimes wonder ‘how many more games can I make before I retire’, so I’d rather make new games or sequels.” The wording here follows VGC’s translation; the Japanese interview text has not been independently verified.
Will Dynasty Warriors 4 get a remaster?
It remains possible, but it has not been confirmed. VGC reports that Sho said the success of Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered could raise the chances of remasters for Dynasty Warriors 4 and later entries. That is a conditional possibility, not a release announcement or a promise about which games will be remastered.

Why Sho would rather work on new games
Sho’s remarks point to the time and effort involved in revisiting a game he helped make. VGC’s account says he described the project as almost a complete remake and quoted him reflecting: “why am I remaking something I made myself?” He also reportedly said he was considering letting someone else take on a future remaster project because making this one a reality was hard work.
That distinction matters: Sho is describing how he would prefer to use his time, not announcing a franchise-wide decision by Koei Tecmo. In the same account, he leaves room for more remasters if the current release performs well.
