Its familiar row-staggered keys, thumb cluster, hot-swappable switches and optional tenting make the transition from a conventional keyboard easier than on a columnar split board. Build quality, remapping flexibility and latency are strong in RTINGS’ testing, but the price rises from $369 for the wired base model to $619 for the fully equipped wireless, tenting and underglow version. Choose it when adjustable positioning and customization matter more than minimizing cost; skip it if you specifically want columnar keys, concave key wells or a budget ergonomic keyboard.

What the Dygma Raise 2 is
The Raise 2 is a true-split mechanical keyboard: the left and right halves are separate units rather than two sections joined by a rigid center. You can move the halves apart to match your shoulder width, angle them independently and, with the optional tenting hardware, raise their inner or outer edges. A cable, wireless link or low-latency radio connection links the keyboard to your computer, depending on the configuration you buy.

Unlike many ergonomic keyboards that replace the familiar layout with vertical columns, the Raise 2 keeps a conventional row-staggered arrangement. Dygma’s own comparison describes the Raise 2 as row-staggered and its Defy model as columnar. That distinction is important: the Raise 2 changes the keyboard’s geometry without requiring you to relearn every key position.

RTINGS describes the board as having a fairly standard 60% layout with a thumb cluster. The product has no traditional center block, number pad or function row, so layers and remapped keys handle commands that would normally be on a full-size keyboard. The thumb keys provide a convenient place for layer switching, space, backspace, enter or application shortcuts.

Price and configuration choices
The base price is only the beginning because the features that most clearly distinguish the Raise 2 are add-ons. Dygma listed these manufacturer prices on October 13, 2026:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →| Configuration | Listed price | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Wired base | $369 | Wired Raise 2 without tenting, wireless or underglow |
| Tenting | $449 | Base keyboard plus built-in adjustable tenting |
| Tenting plus underglow | $529 | Tenting hardware and under-key lighting |
| Wireless | $459 | Wireless connectivity without tenting or underglow |
| Wireless plus tenting | $539 | Wireless connectivity and adjustable tenting |
| Wireless plus tenting plus underglow | $619 | Fully equipped configuration |
Underglow is available only when tenting is selected. The fully optioned model therefore costs $250 more than the wired base, while buying both wireless and tenting adds $170 before underglow. These are listed prices, not a promise of a future sale price or your final delivered cost. Buyers outside the European Union and United States may owe import fees and taxes, and currency conversion can change the effective total.
Which configuration makes sense?
- Choose wired if the keyboard will stay at one desk and you want the lowest entry price.
- Add wireless if clearing the cable from your desk or switching among devices matters. The wireless version can still be used as a wired keyboard.
- Add tenting if you intend to experiment with the angle between your hands. It is the feature most directly tied to the Raise 2’s ergonomic positioning.
- Add underglow only if appearance is important to you. It requires tenting and does not change the key layout or switch mechanism.
Layout: familiar rows with a dedicated thumb cluster
The Raise 2’s main design compromise is deliberate familiarity. Keys retain the staggered horizontal rows found on ordinary keyboards, so touch typists can transfer existing muscle memory more easily than they may on a columnar board. RTINGS says this conventional arrangement can make the keyboard easier to adapt to, especially for people new to ergonomic designs.
The two halves can be separated far enough to let your shoulders and forearms adopt a more natural width. You are not forced to keep both hands close together simply because the alphanumeric keys share one case. The magnetic wrist rests listed by RTINGS provide a surface for your palms, while the thumb cluster moves frequently used modifiers and commands away from the little-finger columns.
Rank #2
- 7 Onboard Macro Keys for Instant Combos - Bind multiple commands to each of the 7 keys (28 total across 4 profiles), so MMO and MOBA ability rotations fire with a single press instead of fumbling for a full keyboard.
- Swap Switches Without Soldering - The upgraded socket accepts almost any 3-pin or 5-pin switch, so you can tune the feel of your off-hand keypad to match your main board.
- USB Pass-Through Port, Detachable Wrist Rest - Plug your mouse or headset directly into the keypad for a cleaner desk, and unclip the magnetic wrist rest whenever you want a smaller footprint.
- 16.8 Million Colors, 5 RGB Modes - Vibrant lighting effects let your off-hand setup match the rest of your battlestation.
- Pro Software for Even Deeper Customization - Record your own macro sequences and design custom lighting effects, so the keypad adapts to your exact keybinds.
There are trade-offs. The Raise 2 does not provide the concave key wells or vertically aligned columns favored by some ergonomic-keyboard enthusiasts. If your goal is a fully columnar layout, the Raise 2’s familiar rows may feel like only a partial change. The thumb keys are also custom-made; Dygma cautions that third-party replacement keycaps may not be available for them.

Built-in tenting is optional rather than standard. Dygma lists an adjustment range from 0° to 60° and reverse-tilt options of 4° and 8°. At 0°, the halves can sit flat. Increasing the tent angle raises the inner edges or otherwise rotates each half so your palms face one another more naturally. Reverse tilt changes the front-to-back angle instead of only the side-to-side angle.
Because the halves are independent, you can adjust width and angle separately for each hand. Start flat and close together, then make one change at a time while typing for several minutes. A steep angle can reduce inward wrist rotation for some users, but it also changes reach distances and may make familiar keys feel less accessible until you adapt. There is no universally correct setting.
Without the tenting option, you still get a split keyboard, but you lose the integrated mechanism that supports those angle changes. Decide before ordering rather than assuming it can be added later; Dygma’s listed configurations treat tenting as a purchase option.
Build quality and physical design
RTINGS bought and tested a black Raise 2 configured with Gateron G Pro 2.0 Yellow switches, wireless connectivity and built-in tenting. Its review reports quality construction, an aluminum switch plate, a hot-swappable PCB and magnetic wrist rests. RTINGS also reports very low latency in its testing. Those observations apply to the tested configuration and should not be read as an independent measurement of every color, switch or firmware revision.
Dygma lists black and silver finishes. The board’s approximate dimensions are 332 × 202 × 36 mm and its approximate weight is 1 kg. These are manufacturer specifications, not measurements made by an independent laboratory. The separated halves require more desk area than a compact conventional keyboard when you spread them to shoulder width, so measure your usable space if you work on a narrow tray.

Switches, keycaps and lighting
The Raise 2 uses hot-swappable MX-style switch sockets. Dygma says most 3-pin and 5-pin MX-stem switches are compatible, allowing you to replace switches without desoldering the PCB. The product selector offers linear, tactile and clicky configurations, so you can choose a starting feel rather than immediately rebuilding the board.
Hot-swap compatibility is not universal accessory compatibility. The thumb keys are custom-made, and Dygma’s FAQ warns that third-party keycaps may not be available for them. Standard alphanumeric keycaps may fit the corresponding MX stems, but verify sizes, profiles and the thumb-key shape before ordering a full replacement set.
Per-key RGB lighting is listed in the specifications. Underglow is a separate option and is tied to the tenting configuration. Lighting affects battery life in wireless use, so it is both a visual feature and a power consideration.
Connectivity and operating-system support
Dygma lists three connection methods: USB, Bluetooth and low-latency RF. The wireless model can operate over its wireless links or as a wired USB keyboard, giving you a fallback if the batteries are empty or a radio connection is inconvenient.
| Specification | Dygma-listed information |
|---|---|
| Switch sockets | 64 MX hot-swap sockets for ANSI; 65 for ISO |
| Additional sockets | Four low-profile Kailh sockets |
| Lighting | Per-key RGB; optional underglow |
| Connections | USB, Bluetooth and low-latency RF |
| Supported operating systems | Windows, macOS, iOS, Linux and Android |
| Approximate dimensions | 332 × 202 × 36 mm |
| Approximate weight | 1 kg |
| Wireless battery | 2,370 mAh per side; 4,740 mAh total |
The ANSI and ISO socket counts differ because the layouts use different key arrangements. Compatibility with Windows, macOS, iOS, Linux and Android indicates platform support; it does not guarantee that every remapping or lighting feature behaves identically in every operating system.
Battery life: a conditional manufacturer claim
Dygma’s FAQ says the Raise 2 lasts up to 20 hours with full LED brightness on current firmware. It says that reducing brightness to 30% and enabling true sleep can produce four to five days, and that disabling LEDs can last a little longer. Dygma also says it is working on improving battery performance through future firmware.

- ATTACHES TO YOUR KEYBOARD — GOES WHERE YOU GO: The ESC Flip mounts directly to the back of your keyboard using washable TPU micro-suction pads. Unlike flat acrylic keyboard trays where your keyboard sits inside a holder, the ESC Flip moves with your keyboard — on your desk, picked up, repositioned. One tool, one setup, permanently at the right angle.
- BUILT FOR COMPACT TO MID-SIZE FLAT-BACK KEYBOARDS: Compatible with Apple Magic Keyboard (with or without numeric keypad and Touch ID), Logitech MX Keys, K380, SteelSeries, Amazon Basics, and similar models with a smooth flat back. Not compatible with keyboards that have ridges, vents, battery doors, or curved backs.
- WASHABLE GRIP THAT RESTORES LIKE NEW: No glue, no tape, no residue. The reusable TPU pads hold firmly and release cleanly. If grip weakens, rinse with warm water, rub gently, air dry, and they're restored to full strength. For best results on first attach: wipe your keyboard's back with an isopropyl alcohol wipe and let dry before mounting.
- 3 ERGONOMIC TILT SETTINGS TO REDUCE WRIST STRAIN: Choose your height for a neutral wrist position — ideal for long work sessions with flat keyboards like the Apple Magic Keyboard. Non-slip rubber feet keep the riser stable on any desk surface. Lightweight at 45g — disappears into your setup.
- USA-DESIGNED, PATENT PENDING: Developed by GPG2 and proudly designed in the United States. Trusted by thousands of home office users. Includes spare rubber feet pads.
Those figures are manufacturer estimates with stated lighting and sleep conditions, not an independent battery benchmark. Actual runtime will vary with connection mode, typing activity, lighting effects, sleep settings and firmware. If predictable uptime is more important than avoiding a cable, the wireless model’s ability to work over USB is a useful fallback.

Customization and remapping
RTINGS describes the Raise 2’s software customization as flexible and user-friendly, with remapping, custom layers and macros. Layers let one physical key perform different actions when a layer key is held or toggled. That is how a compact split board can provide function-row commands, navigation, media controls or application shortcuts without adding more physical rows.
Plan your first layout around the keys you use most. Keep letters, punctuation and frequently used shortcuts close to their conventional positions while assigning navigation, function keys and macros to the thumb cluster or a secondary layer. Change one group of keys at a time and keep a written backup of your preferred mapping so a reset or firmware change does not erase your workflow.
Because the exact software interface and firmware behavior can change, use the current documentation supplied with your keyboard rather than relying on an old screenshot or a remapping file made for another Raise revision.
What independent testing found
RTINGS published its Raise 2 review on April 18, 2025, and updated it September 3, 2026. It purchased and tested the black, wireless, tented configuration with Gateron G Pro 2.0 Yellow switches. Its key positive findings were:
- Very low latency in its testing.
- Strong overall construction, including the aluminum switch plate.
- Hot-swappable switches and broad remapping, layer and macro options.
- A conventional staggered layout that is easier to approach than many radical ergonomic designs.
RTINGS’ principal criticism is cost: adding wireless, tenting and other options pushes the keyboard into a high price tier. It also notes that people seeking columnar keys or concave wells may prefer another design. Read the full test methodology and measurements at RTINGS’ Dygma Raise 2 review.

Raise 2 versus other split-keyboard approaches
The most useful comparison is not a simple winner ranking. Split keyboards differ in the amount of layout change they require and in which hardware is included. RTINGS identifies the ZSA Moonlander, ZSA Voyager, MoErgo Glove80 and ErgoDox EZ as comparison products, while Dygma’s own comparison places the Raise 2 and Defy on opposite sides of the row-staggered-versus-columnar choice.
| Decision factor | Raise 2 position | What to ask about an alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Layout | Familiar row-staggered keys | Is it columnar, and how much retraining will that require? |
| Thumb controls | Dedicated thumb cluster with custom keycaps | How many thumb keys are provided, and can their caps be replaced? |
| Tenting | Optional built-in system, 0°–60° plus 4°/8° reverse tilt | Is tenting included, optional, external or unavailable? |
| Wireless | Optional; wired operation remains available | Is wireless standard, optional or absent? |
| Switch customization | Hot-swappable 3-pin/5-pin MX-style support, subject to fit | Are switches hot-swappable, and are specialty keys compatible? |
| Cost structure | $369 to $619 in Dygma’s listed configurations | What features are included at the advertised base price? |
This framework helps identify the right product category. Choose the Raise 2 when you want a split board that preserves familiar rows and offers integrated positioning options. Investigate columnar alternatives when reducing finger travel or adopting a more radical ergonomic geometry is your priority, even if that means a longer learning period.
Ergonomics, comfort and health claims
Separating the halves allows you to place them at shoulder width rather than keeping both hands centered. Tenting can rotate the halves, and the thumb cluster can move modifiers away from the outer little-finger columns. These are design possibilities, not medical outcomes.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThe available product and review material does not establish that the Raise 2 treats pain, prevents injury or is clinically superior to another keyboard. Dygma’s FAQ includes questions such as “Are split keyboards more ergonomic?” and “How long does it take to use a split keyboard?”, but its answers are manufacturer guidance rather than named clinical studies. Treat discomfort, numbness or persistent pain as a reason to review your workstation and seek qualified medical advice, not as a reason to assume a particular keyboard will solve the problem.
When adapting, use short sessions, keep your wrists relaxed and stop if symptoms worsen. A keyboard cannot compensate for excessive force, poor chair and desk height, or uninterrupted computer use.
Setup advice for a first-time owner
- Clear enough desk space. Place the halves where your forearms can approach them without reaching inward or outward.
- Begin at a neutral angle. Start at 0° tenting, or with the wired model flat, so the familiar layout is easy to assess.
- Set the width. Move the halves until your elbows and wrists feel natural, then keep that spacing for several typing sessions.
- Assign essential layers. Put function, navigation and media commands on a secondary layer, keeping the most-used actions on thumb keys.
- Test the connection you intend to use. Pair Bluetooth or RF if you bought the wireless model, but keep a USB cable available for charging and recovery.
- Adjust gradually. Change tent angle or reverse tilt in small increments rather than adopting the maximum 60° setting immediately.
- Save your layout. Keep a copy of your remapping and macro choices outside the keyboard software.
Warranty, returns and ownership considerations
Dygma lists a two-year warranty and a 30-day return period. Terms, exclusions and eligibility can depend on destination and purchase channel, so read the current policy before ordering. Import fees and taxes may apply outside the EU and US. Keep the packaging until you are certain the layout, tenting mechanism and switch choice work for you; a split keyboard can require more adaptation than its familiar rows suggest.
Who should buy the Dygma Raise 2?
It is a strong fit if you:
- Want a true split layout without immediately learning columnar typing.
- Value adjustable tenting and the ability to position each half independently.
- Want hot-swappable switches, layers and macros.
- Need wireless flexibility but want the option to use USB.
- Are willing to pay a premium for construction and configuration choices.
Look elsewhere if you:
- Need the lowest-cost route into ergonomic keyboards.
- Specifically want columnar keys or concave key wells.
- Expect every keycap, including the thumb keys, to accept standard third-party replacements.
- Want tenting included without paying an option surcharge.
- Prefer a full-size layout with a dedicated number pad and function row.
Final buying advice
The wired $369 model is the sensible starting point if you want to test the Raise 2 concept without paying for every extra. Tenting is the most meaningful upgrade for users who plan to tune hand angle and separation; wireless is worthwhile for a cable-free desk but is not required for the keyboard’s core split design. Underglow is an aesthetic option that requires tenting, so it should not drive an ergonomic purchase.
At $619, the fully equipped version competes with other premium split keyboards rather than ordinary mechanical boards. RTINGS’ testing supports the Raise 2’s build quality, low latency and customization, while its conventional rows make the design less intimidating than a columnar board. The central question is whether that combination of familiarity and adjustability is worth the premium to you.
