The white Fisher & Paykel DW60FC1W1 is a 14-place-setting dishwasher whose strongest documented points are its installation requirements and six cycle choices. The available evidence does not establish how well this exact model cleans or dries in independent testing, or how often owners experience problems. Check the model suffix carefully: the newer DW60FC1X3 is a different dishwasher, and its specifications should not be attributed to the W1.
What is the Fisher & Paykel DW60FC1W1?
The DW60FC1W1 is the white-finish version of Fisher & Paykel’s DW60FC1 dishwasher family for Australia and New Zealand. The manufacturer’s DW60 models installation guide identifies the white DW60FC1 models separately from the stainless-steel DW60FC1X1. It lists 14 place settings for DW60FC1 models; the guide’s 15-place-setting figure applies to other family variants, not this one.

This is a model-specific review based on manufacturer documentation and anecdotal owner reports. No controlled independent performance test or exact-model lab score was established for the W1, so cleaning, drying, noise and reliability cannot be judged against competing machines with confidence.

Will the DW60FC1W1 fit?
Measure the cabinet opening and the appliance itself before buying or replacing a dishwasher. The top panel is removable, and the adjustable feet affect the installed height. Fisher & Paykel’s AU/NZ installation guide gives these dimensions:
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

What plumbing and electrical connections does it need?
The DW60FC1 installation guide specifies the following for DW60FC1 models. The appliance rating label takes precedence if its electrical data differs from the guide, and installation must comply with local rules.
- Electrical supply: 230–240 V, 50 Hz; maximum current 10 A; absorbed power 1900–2050 W.
- Water pressure: 0.03–1 MPa (0.3–10 bar).
- Water connection: A 3/4-inch BSP connection; the guide recommends cold water and says incoming water should not exceed 25°C.
- Drain hose: Maximum length 4 m; the guide warns that an overly long hose can reduce performance.
The manufacturer says not to connect the dishwasher through an extension cord or multi-outlet power board, and not to reuse old hoses. It also describes anti-flood protection as stopping water flow if a leak occurs within the machine; this is the manufacturer’s stated protection, not a claim that every possible leak or water-damage scenario is prevented.

How many place settings does it hold, and how should it be loaded?
The DW60FC1W1 is rated for 14 place settings in the manufacturer’s AU/NZ installation guide. The rating indicates nominal capacity; it does not mean every combination of cookware, serving pieces and dishes will fit comfortably at once.
The DW60FC1 quick-start guide advises users to scrape off large food particles, leave space between dishes rather than nesting them, make sure spray arms can turn without obstruction, and use detergent and rinse aid as directed. These are practical loading instructions, not a guarantee of a particular cleaning result.
Which cycles are available?
The DW60FC1 quick-start guide describes six choices and the kinds of loads they are intended for:

| Cycle | Guide description |
|---|---|
| Auto | Senses a programme for the dishes. |
| Normal | For normally soiled dishes. |
| Normal Eco | For normally soiled dishes with optimum energy and water use. |
| Fast | For lightly soiled dishes. |
| Heavy | For heavily soiled pots, pans and dishes. |
| Rinse | Helps prevent odours and soil from drying on dishes. |
The guide explains intended use, but the material available does not establish verified DW60FC1W1 cycle durations or per-cycle energy and water consumption. The Normal Eco description is not a substitute for exact consumption figures.
Does it clean and dry well?
There is not enough exact-model independent evidence to give a reliable performance verdict. The manufacturer’s user guide does publish a standards-test setup for the DW60FC1, but that is a prescribed test condition rather than an independent result or a promise of everyday performance.
For that test, the guide specifies Normal Eco, up to 14 place settings, powdered detergent at 5 g for the pre-wash and 27.5 g for the main wash, rinse-aid level 5, and the upper basket in its uppermost position. It also instructs that the door be opened 100 mm after the programme to help drying. The door-opening step is part of the documented test protocol and matters when interpreting that setup.

ProductReview.com.au’s exact-model page includes individual accounts praising cleaning as well as reports of inconsistent results. Those experiences may help identify questions to investigate, but they do not establish a typical result or the frequency of a problem. Loading, detergent, rinse aid and cycle selection are among the practical factors the quick-start guide addresses; they should not be used to dismiss an owner’s complaint.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What do owners say about reliability?
Exact-model owner accounts on ProductReview.com.au are mixed. Reviewers discuss cleaning consistency, rack behaviour, noise, hot drying, repairs and reliability; some also praise cleaning and the range of programmes. These are individual reports, not a representative survey or a verified rate of faults, so they cannot show how common any issue is.

How is the DW60FC1W1 different from the newer DW60FC1X3?
Fisher & Paykel’s current Australian Series 5 page describes the DW60FC1X3, not the DW60FC1W1. The X3 page lists 15 place settings, 48 dBA, 295 kWh/year and 12.2 L per cycle. Those are specifications for the newer X3 model only; they are not W1 specifications and should not be used to infer the W1’s capacity, noise or consumption.
A third-party transcription of a DW60FC1 service manual lists 47 dB at family level, but it does not provide a clearly independent measurement method. That figure is not a verified W1 noise test, so it is not a sound basis for judging how quiet this dishwasher will be in a particular kitchen.
Quick Recap
What should you verify before choosing one?
- Confirm the full DW60FC1W1 model suffix and white finish on the appliance label or listing.
- Check the available height with the top panel fitted and removed, plus cavity width, depth and floor clearance.
- Confirm that water pressure, temperature, connection, drain routing and electrical supply meet the installation guide and local requirements.
- Ask the seller or service provider about current availability, parts and servicing for this exact model; current retail status was not established in the available material.
- Look for independent testing of the exact W1 if cleaning, drying, noise or consumption figures are decisive. Do not substitute X3 specifications or unverified family-level figures.
