The National and Gulf News gave a pilot-flight duration of about 25 minutes; Gulf News quoted Dubai Police First Sergeant Ali Ahmad Mohammad describing a flight height of five metres and use in emergencies or heavy traffic. Gulf News’ report also said it could fly up to 6 km without a passenger.

A later reference offers a different endurance range rather than a single definitive figure. The International Civil Aviation Organization’s 2018 innovation catalogue listed a Hoversurf S3 with up to 40 minutes in drone mode and approximately 10–25 minutes with a pilot, depending on weight and weather. Was it actually put into Dubai Police service?
The evidence in the contemporaneous coverage supports describing the Scorpion as a prototype or demonstration vehicle undergoing tests. Gulf News reported testing, and the 2017 unveiling was presented as a potential emergency-response application. The reports do not establish that the hoverbike became routine equipment, how many were operated, or whether it received broad operational or regulatory approval.
