For a straightforward two-screen home office, choose either two matching monitors or a purpose-built dual-display bundle—and check that your computer can actually drive both screens before you buy. RTINGS names the 27-inch 4K Dell U2725QE its premium pick for a dual setup and the 27-inch 4K ASUS ProArt Display PA279CRV its less expensive individual-monitor alternative. LG’s 27QP88D-B is a complete pair of 27-inch QHD displays with an adjustable dual stand. They suit different priorities: individual monitors allow more control over the pair, while a bundle simplifies getting two matching screens and one shared stand.
Which dual-monitor setup fits your home office?
Start with how you work and what your computer supports, not just the monitor’s resolution. Two matched screens give you consistent size and visual scale. Buying separate displays also lets you choose a stronger primary screen and a less expensive or differently oriented secondary display. A purpose-built pair can be simpler to position, but its included stand and screen specifications determine the configuration you get.

- Choose two individual monitors if you want to select each display independently, may add screens over time, or want a particular primary monitor. Compare the cost of two units when considering a single-monitor recommendation.
- Choose a dual-monitor bundle if you want a matched pair and a coordinated stand. Check what the bundle includes and whether its clamp or grommet mount suits your desk.
- Consider a mixed pair if you would rather put more of the budget toward the screen used for your main work. This is a practical budget tradeoff, not a guarantee of better performance.
Shortlist: three ways to build a two-screen setup
| Option | What you get | Connectivity and stand | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dell U2725QE | One 27-inch 4K IPS monitor; up to 120 Hz, according to RTINGS’ 2026 roundup | RTINGS describes Thunderbolt and DisplayPort video outputs, a USB hub, and an ergonomic stand. Check the full product and host specifications for the exact connection path you plan to use. | A premium individual monitor; calculate the cost of two if you want a matched pair. |
| ASUS ProArt Display PA279CRV | One 27-inch 4K monitor | RTINGS describes a DisplayPort output and USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode and up to 90 W power delivery. RTINGS lists fewer USB ports and no KVM compared with the Dell. | A lower-cost individual-monitor alternative in RTINGS’ roundup; confirm that the host and second display support your intended connection. |
| LG 27QP88D-B | Two 27-inch QHD (2560 × 1440) IPS monitors, according to LG’s product page | LG lists USB-C with up to 65 W power delivery, DisplayPort daisy chaining, and an adjustable Ergo Dual stand with side-by-side, stacked, center-portrait, and pivot configurations. LG says daisy chaining is not compatible with Macs using the Apple M1 chip. | A purpose-built pair with a shared adjustable stand. |
The Dell and ASUS entries are individual monitors, not two-screen bundles. RTINGS’ 2026 roundup presents them as recommendations for dual setups; the LG entry is a manufacturer-listed pair. These are attributed recommendations and specifications, not personal hands-on test results. The ASUS VA27UQSB is another individual-monitor example: ASUS lists a 27-inch 4K IPS panel, dual HDMI, DisplayPort, a USB hub, and height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments. The manufacturer listing does not establish it as a reviewed dual-setup pick.

Having two monitors does not automatically mean a laptop can send a separate image to both. RTINGS notes that many modern computers and laptops can output two signals when they have two video outputs. Check the computer’s specifications for the number of external displays it supports and the resolution and refresh rate it can drive. Also verify operating-system limits and whether each port supports video; a USB-C port used for data or charging does not necessarily carry a display signal.

Two usable video outputs
Connect each display to a supported output on the computer or to a compatible dock. Confirm that the outputs and any dock can run both monitors at the resolutions and refresh rates you intend to use. A simple splitter may duplicate one image instead of creating two independent desktops.
One usable video output
A compatible dock may provide additional display connections. Another possibility is DisplayPort or USB-C daisy chaining, but only when the computer, port, and monitors support the required display mode. Daisy chaining is not a universal feature of USB-C. LG specifically excludes Apple M1 Macs from compatibility with the 27QP88D-B’s daisy-chain feature; do not assume that connection method will work with that host.

Before relying on a dock or daisy chain
- Look up the computer’s supported number of external displays, port standards, and resolution and refresh-rate limits.
- Confirm that the monitor connection carries video, rather than data and power alone.
- For a dock, check that it supports two independent displays at your intended resolution and refresh rate with your specific computer and operating system.
- For a daisy chain, check the host’s and both monitors’ supported ports and display modes. Confirm any model-specific restrictions.
Compare the complete cost and what comes in the box
A single-monitor price is not the cost of a two-monitor setup. For individual displays, compare the cost of two units—or the cost of one primary and one secondary screen—and include any stand or mounting hardware you need. For a bundle, verify that the listing is for the two-screen package rather than a single display.
Before ordering, check whether the monitors include the cables you need, whether the stand or arm is included, and whether your computer requires a dock. If choosing a separate dual-monitor arm, confirm VESA compatibility and each screen’s weight against the arm’s limits. For any desk clamp or grommet mount, measure your desk and compare its dimensions with the manufacturer’s fit requirements. Prices, stock, bundle contents, and regional product specifications can change; no current price or inventory is established here.

Choose resolution, orientation, and adjustability for the work
The shortlist includes 27-inch 4K individual monitors and a pair of 27-inch QHD monitors. A higher resolution can provide more workspace, but the right choice depends on your computer’s output support, the applications you use, and your preferred on-screen scale. Check that the host can drive both screens at the intended resolution and refresh rate, rather than assuming a single-monitor capability applies to a pair.
Two screens need not both be horizontal. A vertical second display can make long documents or code easier to scan, but check that the monitor supports pivot and that the stand or arm permits the arrangement. The LG bundle lists pivot and portrait arrangements; the ASUS VA27UQSB listing includes pivot adjustment. Verify the exact configuration and available desk space before choosing a portrait layout.

- Compatible with Wide Screens - To ensure compatibility with the dual monitor mount, your each monitor must meet three conditions at the same time: First, computer screens size range: 13 to 32 inches. Second, screen weight range: 4.4 to 19.8 lbs. Third, the back of the monitor screen must have VESA mounting holes with a pitch of 75x75mm or 100x100mm.
- Regarding the compatibility with desks - Your desk must meet three conditions at the same time: First, desk material: Only wooden desks are recommended, plastic or glass desks cannot be used. Second, desk thickness range: 0.59" - 3.54". Third, the bottom of the desk should not have any cross beams or panels, as this will interfere with installation. We recommend carefully checking that your desk and monitors meets all above conditions before purchasing.
- Dual C-Clamp Hold - Worried your dual monitors might wobble or slip? Our upgraded base uses a larger platform plus a dual C-clamp structure to lock the dual monitor arm firmly to your desk. Each arm safely keeps your screens steady while you type, click and game—no shaking, no sliding, just a clean and secure setup you can trust every day. It also provides Grommet Mounting installation choice, both options ensure stable and secure fixation for your 0.59" - 3.54" desk.
- Full-Motion Adjustment For Comfortable View - Pull the screen closer when you’re deep in a spreadsheet, push it back to watch videos, or rotate to portrait for coding — moving everything smoothly with just one hand. The monitor stand offers +85°/-50° tilt, ±90° swivel and 360° rotation. Raise your monitor up to 15.75″ to support a healthy sitting posture. Whether you’re working from home, gaming through the night, or switching between video calls and documents, getting the screens to your natural line of sight helps relieve neck, shoulder and back strain so you can stay focused longer with less fatigue.
- Keep Your Desk Organized: By lifting both screens off the desktop, this dual monitor stand opens up valuable space for your keyboard, notebook, docking station or a simple, clutter-free work area. Built-in cable management guides wires along the arms, keeping cords out of sight and out of the way. Enjoy a tidy, modern workstation that looks as good as it feels to use.
Ergonomic stands and arms can help position screens to suit the desk and seated posture. Compare height, tilt, swivel, pivot, and extension adjustment rather than relying on the word “adjustable.” Also consider whether the display you use most will sit directly in front of you and whether the second screen can be viewed without repeatedly turning your head.

Position the pair around your desk and seated posture
Dell’s monitor-ergonomics guidance recommends keeping the monitor center at normal eye level. For its seated dual-monitor configurations, Dell gives 45 degrees as an optimum horizontal head-movement range from center and 60 degrees as a maximum. These are Dell’s guidance, not universal clinical limits. Arrange the pair so the main display is easy to face and the secondary screen remains comfortable to view; the necessary placement depends on your desk, seating, and how you divide work between screens.
