Short answer: Droid Tycoon documents trading with Cantina NPCs and merchants, not a confirmed player-to-player trading menu. Co-op is faster for several activities in version 1.33.0 because party members increase upgrade-chip and pickaxe bonuses. Fusion unlocks at Rebirth 3, always consumes exactly three droids, and follows strict recipe and rarity rules.
Can you trade droids with another player?
What the documented trading system does
The trading described in the current beginner coverage is an NPC system. Cantina characters and merchants can trade droids with you and offer other deals. These are vendor interactions: you approach the non-player character, inspect the available deal, and decide whether to accept it.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
That distinction matters because “trading droids” can sound like an exchange between two human players. The documented feature supports deals with the game’s Cantina NPCs and merchants; it does not establish a general marketplace where one player selects a droid and sends it directly to another player.
Is direct player-to-player trading available?
No reviewed source confirms a player-to-player trade menu, button sequence, inventory-transfer rule, or trade restriction. Until a developer announcement or an in-game update documents those controls, treat direct trading as unconfirmed rather than assuming that a nearby player, party invite, or emote can transfer a droid.

- Use Cantina NPCs and merchants when you want a documented trade interaction.
- Do not hand over a valuable droid expecting a direct exchange unless the game itself presents a verified trade interface.
- When a player says they can trade with you, ask whether they mean an NPC deal or a direct player transfer; those are different systems.
How co-op progression changes in version 1.33.0
The official developer patch note for version 1.33.0 adds “Party Bonuses.” The bonuses are tied to the number of other party members and to what those members are actively doing, so merely joining a party is not the same as coordinating work in the same area.
| Activity | Party bonus | Condition or limit |
|---|---|---|
| Upgrade-chip earnings | 20% more upgrade chips for each other party member | Capped at 100% total bonus |
| Scrap Station work | +50% | Applies when you hit a party member’s Scrap Station |
| Pickaxe work at a Droid Depot | +20% per other party member | Those members must be actively hitting the same Droid Depot |
What the chip bonus means in practice
The upgrade-chip bonus scales in 20-percentage-point steps for each additional party member, but the total cannot exceed 100%. For example, two other members represent a 40% bonus, while five other members would reach the stated 100% cap rather than producing a larger total. The patch note does not state a special party-size limit in the material available here, so do not infer one from the cap.
How to use the pickaxe bonus
The pickaxe increase is conditional. A party member who is elsewhere, idle, or working on a different depot does not satisfy the stated condition for the shared-depot bonus. To benefit, have the relevant players hit the same Droid Depot at the same time. Each additional party member actively doing so adds 20% to the pickaxe bonus.

The Scrap Station rule is location-specific: the bonus is for hitting a party member’s Scrap Station. It is not described as a universal 50% increase to every Scrap Station action, and it should not be combined with the depot rule as though both applied to the same interaction.

A coordinated co-op routine
- Form the party before starting the work that you want to accelerate.
- For chips, keep the relevant members in the party so the per-member bonus applies, remembering the 100% ceiling.
- Choose one Droid Depot and have the participating members actively hit that same depot for the pickaxe bonus.
- For Scrap Station work, target a station owned by a party member rather than treating any station as equivalent.
- Split up only after the shared activity is complete; spreading players across separate depots removes the condition for the shared-depot bonus.
Thus, co-op can make chip collection and depot work materially faster, but the gain comes from the specific party and activity conditions rather than from a blanket multiplayer multiplier.
What rebirth resets—and what it keeps
Rebirth resets progress for permanent enhancements, but the beginner guide says you keep all of your droids. Rebirth is therefore a progression reset for the enhancement track, not a wipe of the droid collection you have accumulated.
Check variant requirements before rebirthing
Later rebirth requirements can ask for upgraded variants, including Gold, Diamond, Rainbow, or other special versions. The requirement is not necessarily satisfied by owning a lower-quality copy of the same named droid. Inspect the requirement’s icon and reserve the exact variant before confirming the reset.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Read the rebirth requirement from the in-game icon, not just the droid’s name.
- Set aside any Gold, Diamond, Rainbow, or other specified version needed for the next rebirth.
- Only then spend, sell, or fuse surplus copies.
- Expect enhancement progress to reset while your droid inventory remains available.
This order prevents a common mistake: using the one upgraded variant needed for rebirth in another activity and discovering that the reset requirement is no longer met.

When Fusion unlocks and what the machine accepts
Unlock condition
Fusion unlocks at Rebirth 3. Before that point, the fusion machine is not an available progression route, regardless of whether you already possess a tempting set of ingredients.
Exactly three droids per fusion
Every fusion consumes exactly three droids. The machine does not use two-droid or four-droid recipes. The current guide lists 17 named fusion-exclusive droids across the Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic tiers; those outputs do not appear naturally on the Sandcrawler conveyor and require their specified recipes.
Two valid input patterns
| Pattern | Result | Important rule |
|---|---|---|
| Named recipe | The recipe’s named fusion-exclusive droid | Place the exact three named ingredients on the pedestals |
| Three identical droids | One copy at the next rarity | All three copies must be identical |
The machine arms only when the pedestals match one of those valid patterns. If the set is invalid, do not pay or confirm it; rearranging random droids does not create a valid fusion.

For a valid named recipe using different-quality inputs, the lowest-quality droid sets the output quality. Two Rainbow inputs paired with one Diamond input produce a Diamond-quality result, not a Rainbow one. The weakest input therefore acts as the ceiling for the mixed trio.

The three-identical pattern is separate: three identical droids produce one copy at the next rarity. That rule is not a way to combine three unrelated names, and it does not override the lowest-quality rule for a mixed named recipe.
Complete Fusion recipe table
Use the names exactly as shown. A number before a name means that many copies; each row still totals three droids.

How to plan ingredients without blocking another recipe
Some ingredients occur in more than one named recipe. Groundmech appears in SCRP-R and QIK-BIT. KX appears in RIV-3T and X-ONK. BDX Explorer appears in BTL-R and AXL-POD. Consuming one of these shared ingredients can prevent a later target until you obtain another copy.

- Choose the fusion output you want rather than placing the first valid trio you happen to collect.
- Search the full table for every appearance of each ingredient in that target.
- Mark recurring ingredients—especially Groundmech, KX, and BDX Explorer—as reserved until you have decided which recipe has priority.
- Check the rarity of all three inputs. A lower-quality member of a mixed trio limits the result’s quality.
- Confirm that the machine recognizes the named recipe before committing the droids.
This approach is more reliable than fusing as soon as three familiar names are available, because a locally valid fusion can consume an ingredient needed for a different Mythic or Legendary output.

When to sell, upgrade, or fuse a droid
Reserve it for Fusion
Keep a droid when it is part of a target recipe, especially if the name is shared across multiple rows or if replacing it would require a specific rarity. This is the safest choice when you have a defined Mythic or Legendary goal.
Use the identical-copy route
Three identical copies are appropriate when your objective is the next rarity of that same droid rather than one of the 17 named outputs. Verify that all three are truly identical before loading the pedestals.
Use it for rebirth requirements
Set aside any exact variant named by the next rebirth requirement. A Gold, Diamond, Rainbow, or other special version may be more valuable for progression than for an immediate fusion.
Sell or spend only confirmed surplus
After reserving rebirth variants and checking every recipe that uses the droid, remaining copies can be treated as surplus for your normal upgrade or selling decisions. The available material does not establish a universal sale price or a separate Fusion fee, so do not assume a cost that the machine does not display.
Fusion troubleshooting
The machine will not arm
- Confirm that you have reached Rebirth 3.
- Count the pedestals: the input must contain exactly three droids.
- Compare names, not just silhouettes or rarity colors, against a named recipe.
- If you are using the identical-copy pattern, make sure all three names and variants match.
- Remove an unrecognized set instead of confirming payment for an invalid combination.
The result is lower quality than expected
Inspect the weakest input. In a mixed trio, the lowest-quality droid determines the result, so two Rainbow droids cannot raise a Diamond third input to Rainbow output.
You no longer meet a rebirth requirement
Check whether the needed upgraded variant was used in Fusion, sold, or otherwise consumed. Because rebirth requirements can name a specific variant, replacing the same base droid at a lower quality will not necessarily solve the problem.
A shared ingredient is missing
Review the recipe table for other outputs that use the same name. If you consumed Groundmech, KX, or BDX Explorer in another valid recipe, the immediate remedy is to obtain another copy; there is no documented undo for a completed fusion in the supplied rules.
Quick Recap
A practical progression route
- Use Cantina NPCs and merchants for the documented trading interactions, while treating direct player trading as unconfirmed.
- When possible, form a party and coordinate the same activity so the version 1.33.0 bonuses can apply.
- Before each rebirth, reserve the exact upgraded variant shown in the requirement.
- Reach Rebirth 3 to unlock Fusion.
- Pick a target output, audit all of its ingredients against the full 17-recipe table, and reserve recurring names.
- Load exactly three inputs, verify the machine’s accepted pattern, and check the lowest input quality before confirming.
