The Dreo Smart TurboPoly 765S, called the TurboPoly Fan 765S on Dreo’s UK site, combines unusually wide, adjustable oscillation with 12 speeds, six modes and app controls that let you shape where the breeze goes. Expert Reviews found it among the strongest fans it has tested for moving air around a larger room.
That capability has clear costs. Stuart Andrews’s Expert Reviews testing measured more than 54 dBA at the top standard speed and over 56 dBA in Turbo. The body is chunky, and changing between the pedestal and floor configurations can be awkward because the spare stand has nowhere convenient to live. It is a powerful air-moving tool, not the quietest or most discreet living-room fan.

What the Dreo Smart TurboPoly 765S is
The 765S is a smart circulation fan that can be assembled in two forms: on a pedestal or on a four-legged floor stand. Dreo’s UK product page describes it as a tabletop-and-pedestal fan and lists the product as the TurboPoly Fan 765S. Expert Reviews tested both configurations and the accompanying app.
The central idea is directional control. Instead of simply oscillating through a fixed arc, the fan can cover a broad area, aim airflow asymmetrically and direct the breeze toward the part of the room that needs it. That makes it particularly relevant for large bedrooms, open-plan living spaces and rooms where a conventional fan leaves dead spots.

Its standout feature is adjustable aiming
Expert Reviews reports up to 150° of horizontal oscillation and 120° of vertical oscillation. Those are the reviewer’s observations and app-control capabilities, not a single manufacturer specification. Dreo’s UK page advertises 150° horizontal and 100° vertical MotionSync oscillation. The difference matters: the review describes what was available in testing, while the product page states the manufacturer’s published figure.
The app allows you to alter the horizontal and vertical arcs rather than accepting one preset sweep. You can set an asymmetric pattern—for example, directing more of the movement toward seating on one side of a room—and steer the airflow to a chosen area. This is more useful than a large oscillation number by itself because it lets you avoid wasting part of the cycle against a wall or across an empty corner.
When the aiming system is useful
- Large rooms: a wide sweep can move air across a greater floor area than a narrow desktop fan.
- Shared rooms: an asymmetric arc can serve a sofa, desk or bed without repeatedly blowing toward an unused part of the room.
- Uneven layouts: targeted vertical movement helps when one person is seated and another is standing or when the fan is placed below a high bed.
- Air circulation rather than direct cooling: steering the fan across a room can help distribute existing cool air instead of blasting one person continuously.
Speeds and modes
The reviewer identifies 12 fan-speed settings and six operating modes:

| Mode | What the review establishes |
|---|---|
| Normal | Standard constant-speed operation. |
| Auto | Automatic operation mode. |
| Natural | Natural-breeze-style mode. |
| Sleep | Sleep-oriented mode. |
| Turbo | Maximum-airflow mode; Expert Reviews measured 5.8 m/s. |
| Custom | Custom operating mode available among the six choices. |
The value here is not simply the number 12. More increments let you find a tolerable compromise between airflow and noise, while the modes provide shortcuts for different patterns of use. Turbo is for quickly moving a large volume of air; Sleep or a low manual setting is more appropriate when the fan is running beside a bed.

Independent measurements: strong airflow, audible top speeds
Stuart Andrews recorded these figures for Expert Reviews in 2026. Air speed was measured with an anemometer one metre from the fan, noise with a smartphone meter app at one metre, and power with a plug-in energy meter. They are reviewer measurements, not manufacturer-certified specifications.
| Setting | Air speed | Noise | Measured power |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum setting | Not reported | 27.8 dBA | 2.88–5.25 W on the lowest settings |
| Speed 12 | 5.5 m/s | 54.6 dBA | 19.99–32.04 W across settings 9–12 |
| Turbo | 5.8 m/s | Over 56 dBA | Within the reviewer’s 19.99–32.04 W range for settings 9–12 |
Dreo’s product page advertises a 20 dB noise level. That is a manufacturer claim and should not be treated as equivalent to the review’s measurements. The testing used a smartphone app at one metre and found a much wider range, from 27.8 dBA at minimum to above 56 dBA in Turbo. Measurement equipment, room conditions and test methods can produce different results, so the figures are best used to understand the trade-off between low and high operation rather than as a universal laboratory standard.
What those numbers mean in daily use
At the lowest setting, 27.8 dBA in the reviewer’s test is comparatively unobtrusive for background operation. At speed 12, 54.6 dBA is plainly audible; Turbo was louder still. In practice, the fan can be quiet enough when you need only gentle circulation, but its strongest settings are likely to compete with conversation, television audio or a light sleeper’s preferred noise level.

Power consumption
Expert Reviews measured 2.88–5.25 W on the lowest settings and 19.99–32.04 W on settings 9 through 12. The exact draw varies by selected speed and mode, so the fan’s electrical use is modest at gentle settings and higher when you use the airflow levels that distinguish it from a smaller fan.
Those figures are instantaneous measurements from a plug-in energy meter, not a prediction of monthly cost. Your bill depends on the electricity rate, operating hours and selected setting.
Pedestal or floor stand: useful flexibility with a handling penalty
The 765S can be configured as a pedestal model or as a floor fan on a four-legged stand. That makes it easier to place the airflow at different heights and gives you an alternative when a tall pedestal is impractical.

However, the conversion is not completely convenient. Andrews found the second stand sometimes awkward to mount and noted that it has no useful place to stow when the other configuration is in use. If you expect to switch forms frequently, plan where the loose stand will go before buying. If you will assemble one configuration and leave it that way, the inconvenience is less significant.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
The body is also described as chunky. That is a reasonable exchange for the fan’s broad movement and strong airflow, but it means the 765S is less visually discreet than a slim bedroom or living-room model. Check the footprint and storage location before choosing it for a tight bedside table or a narrow walkway.
Using the app for room-specific airflow
The app is where the 765S differs most from a basic oscillating fan. In addition to selecting speed and mode, you can adjust the horizontal and vertical sweep, create asymmetric coverage and steer airflow. The controls are useful when the room’s geometry matters more than a simple left-to-right oscillation.
Practical setups
- Desk or sofa: narrow the sweep around the occupied area so the fan does not spend half its cycle facing away from you.
- Open-plan room: use a wider horizontal arc and a selected vertical angle to distribute air across the room rather than at one fixed point.
- Bedside use: keep the arc limited and select a lower speed; the top settings are too loud for many sleepers.
- Two-person room: use an asymmetric pattern to cover two locations without forcing a perfectly centered placement.
The controls add precision, but they also add setup decisions. Someone who wants one button and a fixed sweep may prefer a simpler fan; someone who regularly rearranges furniture can benefit from the ability to retarget the airflow without moving the hardware.
How it compares with the alternatives named in the review
Expert Reviews places the 765S alongside the Meaco Sefte, Dimplex DuoCool and Duux Whisper Flex 2. The review does not present a single winner for every room. Instead, it describes different priorities.

| Model | Review’s relevant distinction |
|---|---|
| Dreo Smart TurboPoly 765S | Among the strongest tested for moving air in a larger room, with deeper aiming and app controls; high-speed noise and stand handling are drawbacks. |
| Meaco Sefte | Named as an alternative that can do better on basic noise control or living-room-friendly qualities. |
| Dimplex DuoCool | Handles the two-in-one format better because its stand stores more neatly; the 765S offers more extensive controls. |
| Duux Whisper Flex 2 | Named as another alternative that can be preferable on basic refinement such as noise control or appearance. |
This is a decision by use case, not a claim that the alternatives match the 765S’s measured airflow. Choose the Dreo when directional range and room-filling airflow are the primary requirements. Look elsewhere when low noise, compact appearance or a tidier two-configuration design matters more.
Price and availability in the UK
Expert Reviews lists a reviewed price of £170. Dreo’s UK product page lists £169.99 and, in the page snapshot accessed in 2026, displays “Sold out.” These are UK figures tied to particular pages and dates, not a guarantee of current price or stock in every market. Check the relevant local listing before purchasing.
The near-identical prices show that the 765S sits in a premium position among ordinary room fans, so its extra cost is justified only if you will use the high airflow, wide oscillation or detailed aiming controls. Paying for those features makes less sense if you intend to run it quietly at a low setting and never adjust the coverage.

Who should buy the TurboPoly 765S?
It is a strong fit if you:
- Need to move air across a large room rather than cool one small spot.
- Want to control the direction and width of the oscillation.
- Value app-based adjustments and asymmetric coverage.
- Can tolerate audible noise when using the highest speeds.
- Have space to store the unused stand and do not mind occasional assembly.
Choose another type of fan if you:
- Need the quietest possible operation at maximum output.
- Want a slim, understated fan for a prominent living-room position.
- Expect to change between pedestal and floor forms often and want the spare parts to store neatly.
- Prefer simple physical controls over a more configurable app.
Verdict
The Dreo Smart TurboPoly 765S solves a specific problem exceptionally well: getting a strong breeze to the part of a large room where it is actually needed. Its 12 speeds, six modes and unusually adjustable horizontal and vertical aiming give it more control than a conventional oscillating fan. As Stuart Andrews writes in Expert Reviews, “If getting maximum airflow exactly where you need it is your main priority, the Smart TurboPoly 765S is in a class of its own.”
That recommendation comes with boundaries. The measured 54.6 dBA at speed 12 and more than 56 dBA in Turbo rule it out as the obvious choice for quiet high-speed operation. Its chunky body and awkward spare-stand storage also make it less polished to handle and display. Buy it for controllable, room-filling airflow; do not buy it expecting the quietest, smallest or most furniture-friendly fan.
