Wie stark ist die Kühlwirkung?
DREO nennt eine Kühlwirkung von bis zu 5 °F (rund 3 °C). Laut Hersteller wurde dafür das Modell DR-HEC006 bei niedrigster Ventilator- und Nebelgeschwindigkeit getestet; DREO weist darauf hin, dass tatsächliche Ergebnisse abweichen können. Eine ausführliche Beschreibung der Labormethode ist auf der Produktseite nicht angegeben. Die Zahl sollte deshalb als bedingte Herstellerangabe verstanden werden, nicht als garantierte Senkung der Raumtemperatur.

Auch der unabhängige Test von TechRadar spricht für eine persönliche Nutzung: Der Tester verwendete das Gerät drei Wochen zu Hause am Schreibtisch und Küchentisch sowie in einer kontrollierten Testumgebung. Er empfand den Nebel in seiner Nutzung als angenehm und berichtete von keiner sichtbaren Unordnung. Das belegt nicht, dass Oberflächen bei jeder Luftfeuchte, Entfernung und Aufstellung trocken bleiben. DREOs Bezeichnung „mess-free“ ist eine Herstellerbeschreibung, keine allgemeine Garantie.
Die verfügbaren Angaben belegen keine zuverlässige Kühlung eines ganzen Raums und keinen Ersatz für eine Klimaanlage. Am plausibelsten ist der 516S dort, wo eine Person in der Nähe des Geräts Luftstrom und Nebel nutzen möchte.

Ist der Nebel störend, und wie laut ist der Ventilator?
TechRadar beschreibt den normalen Betrieb überwiegend als leise, merkt aber an, dass der Turbo-Modus hörbarer ist. Für alle Betriebsarten liegt in den herangezogenen Angaben keine standardisierte Dezibel-Messreihe vor. Wer den Ventilator nachts oder bei konzentrierter Arbeit nutzt, sollte daher besonders den Turbo-Modus als möglichen Geräusch-Kompromiss einplanen.

Wie lange hält der Wassertank?
DREO nennt 1,3 Liter Tankvolumen und bis zu zwölf Stunden Laufzeit bei niedrigster Einstellung. Für den Turbo-Modus gibt der Hersteller bis zu 3,5 Stunden an. Das sind Herstellerwerte; die tatsächliche Laufzeit hängt von der gewählten Ventilator- und Nebeleinstellung ab. Die Angabe von zwölf Stunden ist ausdrücklich an die niedrigste Einstellung gebunden, nicht an den Turbo-Betrieb.
Welches Modell der TurboCool-Serie passt besser?
Die Herstellerangaben unterscheiden die Modelle nach Einsatzbereich und maximal genannter Kühlwirkung. Sie sind kein unabhängiger Direktvergleich und erlauben keine standardisierte Aussage darüber, wie viel größer die tatsächlich gekühlte Fläche bei einem Modell ist.
