What the $1,179 deal report actually means
The October 6, 2026 Tom’s Guide story concerned the U.S. Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete and reported an Amazon price of $1,179 against a stated $1,699 prior price. The $520 difference is the arithmetic between those figures; it does not establish that the discount remains available, or that $1,699 was the product’s usual selling price over time. The report called $1,179 the lowest price to date as of publication. Check the live listing rather than relying on that historical claim. Read the dated deal report.

The story described the event as Amazon Prime Big Deal Days. “Prime Day” in the headline is a looser shorthand; the source’s specific event name was Prime Big Deal Days.
Why the reviewer gave it five stars
Ashley Thieme’s Tom’s Guide review praises the X60 Max Ultra Complete’s vacuuming and mopping, mapping and app controls, and obstacle avoidance. The robot has extendable mop arms and a side sweeper intended to reach edges and around obstacles. The review also highlights climbing capability and an onboard camera that can assist with object detection and let owners view or take photos of pets. These are the reviewer’s assessments, not independent test results presented here. Read Ashley Thieme’s review.

Thieme’s review headline says, “Where other robot vacuums feel like a useful addition to the home, this one feels like a necessity.” That captures one reviewer’s enthusiasm; a five-star rating is not a market-wide ranking or a guarantee that the robot will suit every home.
The specifications, and what they do not tell you
Tom’s Guide lists a maximum suction rating of 42,000 Pa and a runtime of 242 minutes. It also lists a 5,000 mAh battery, a 310 ml onboard dust bin and an 80 ml onboard water tank. These are published specifications, not independently verified measurements here; the maximum suction figure alone does not establish how well a robot cleans a particular floor or handles a particular mess. The main practical drawback is the dock footprint
The review’s clearest caveat is the dock’s size. A feature-rich base needs a suitable place to live, so measure the intended location and allow for access before committing—especially if storage or floor space is tight. The review does not provide dimensions in the information cited here, so confirm the dock’s measurements on the product listing or manufacturer materials rather than estimating from its listed tank capacities.
Check the model name if you are shopping outside the U.S.
The deal report is for the U.S. Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete. Tom’s Guide’s review lists a U.K. price of £1,299 and says the U.K. version is called the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete. That is a market-specific naming distinction, not evidence that the U.S. deal or price applies in the U.K. Retail prices can vary by market and date. See the review’s U.K. model and price reference.

Who should consider it—and what to verify first
- It may suit you if you want an all-in-one robot vacuum and mop with mapping, app controls, self-emptying and mop maintenance, and you have room for a substantial dock.
- Think carefully if the dock’s footprint is a concern, or if you are buying mainly on the basis of the headline suction and runtime figures rather than the features you will actually use.
- Before ordering, confirm the listing is for the exact U.S. X60 Max Ultra Complete, check its current price and Prime eligibility, and verify delivery and return terms on Amazon. The October 6 deal report does not establish any of those live conditions.
Tom’s Guide’s August 2026 review also discusses the Roborock Saros 20 and Roborock Qrevo Curv as alternatives, using considerations such as feature set, ease of use, base-station size and price. Those are reviewer comparisons from that review, not a current, independently conducted head-to-head test or price check. See the alternatives discussed in the review.
