DREADMOOR launches in Early Access for PC via Steam on November 9, 2026. Developed by Dream Dock and published by Digital Vortex Entertainment, it is a dark first-person fishing adventure set in a flooded, post-catastrophic world. DREADMOOR combines skill-based fishing with exploration, survival systems and real-time combat. Coastal regions have disappeared beneath the water, leaving settlements, islands, abandoned buildings, caves and shipwrecks scattered across a dangerous sea.

Your trawler is both transport and progression hub. Fishing provides catches to sell, while scavenging supplies resources for equipment and vessel improvements. Bait experimentation, catch value, inventory choices and boat upgrades all influence how effectively you can reach more hazardous areas.

The setting is not a peaceful fishing simulator. Resource scarcity, nighttime threats and radiation or mutation themes shape the survival side of the game. Mutated creatures can attack during encounters at sea and on land, so exploration involves more than finding the best fishing spots.

Release date and platform
DREADMOOR enters Early Access on November 9, 2026, exclusively on PC through Steam at launch. The Steam listing includes 12 interface languages.
What is included in Early Access?
The launch build is planned to contain the complete core gameplay loop, one major region, the original story and a wide variety of fish species and mutations. Digital Vortex Entertainment has also described more than 100 species of dangerous and rare prey.
That scope means the essential progression path should be present at launch: travel between settlements, fish, sell catches, gather materials, craft equipment, improve the boat and confront threats while opening up the region. Early Access does not represent the final amount of content, however. Future development is planned to add new areas and adventures, additional fish species, new fishing mechanics and further boat upgrades.

How long will DREADMOOR be in Early Access?
Dream Dock currently expects the game to remain in Early Access for approximately six to 12 months. That is a development estimate rather than a guaranteed release date for version 1.0.
The developer says the “core experience and main gameplay systems are already in place.” Early Access is intended to refine balance and polish, show the team how players use the systems and guide future development. Players should therefore expect the main loop to be playable while content, tuning and features continue to evolve.
Is there a DREADMOOR demo?
Yes. A free demo released on Steam on October 6, 2026. It has its own questline rather than simply opening a small portion of the full game.

What the gameplay loop looks like
Fish, experiment and trade
Fishing is skill-based rather than a passive resource timer. You can experiment with bait, pursue different species and weigh a catch’s value against the risks of staying in a dangerous area. Fish are used as a trading resource, making successful trips central to progression.
Explore by boat and on foot
The trawler connects submerged islands and settlements, while on-foot excursions lead into abandoned buildings, caves and wrecks. These locations provide opportunities to scavenge materials and uncover the world beyond the open water.

Survive encounters
Mutated creatures create real-time fights on both water and land. Night brings additional danger, so deciding when to return, what supplies to carry and how much space to devote to equipment becomes part of each expedition.
Pricing and Early Access caveat
Dream Dock says the Early Access price will be lower than the planned full-release price and may increase when version 1.0 launches. The exact launch price and any regional pricing should be checked on the Steam store page, since those details can vary by market and can change.
