Main Pawn and support Pawns
- Main Pawn: the player-created companion who stays with your Arisen and develops alongside them.
- Support Pawns: additional companions you recruit to join the party. The manual confirms Riftstone recruitment is possible offline.

Which vocation should you choose?
At the start, the manual lists four vocations: Fighter, Mage, Archer, and Thief. Each has a distinct play style, with its own advantages and disadvantages. Choose the approach that sounds most enjoyable for combat; the opening choice is not permanent.
Can you change your vocation?
Yes. Visit a Vocation Guild to change vocation. Capcom’s official web manual confirms the starting choices and vocation switching. The manual excerpt does not provide a complete list of vocations, advanced-vocation unlock requirements, or details about vocation-specific Pawn eligibility, so use the in-game guild for the options available to your character.

How does fast travel work in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
Fast travel is not one universal route. The broad options include direct travel using a Ferrystone and a Portcrystal, or taking an Oxcart journey, for which update notes report Oxcart Stopovers. Capcom’s official update notes search results also report an Eternal Ferrystone, Portcrystals added at Melve, Checkpoint Rest Town, and Volcanic Island Camp, and a Portcrystal reward for Monster Culling.
