How to download DNS Jumper for Windows
- Open Sordum’s DNS Jumper product page and follow its download link to obtain the program from the publisher’s listing.
- Look for the executable named
DnsJumper.exe. The product page identifies DNS Jumper v2.3 as freeware and portable, so it does not require an installer. - Before running a downloaded executable, make sure it came from the publisher’s page and use your usual security precautions. Sordum’s product page, labeled updated November 9, 2023, publishes SHA-256 checksum

Windows compatibility listed by Sordum
On its product page, labeled updated November 9, 2023, Sordum lists Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, and XP, in both x86 and x64 editions. That is the publisher’s compatibility information, not a guarantee for every Windows configuration. The available information does not independently confirm behavior on current Windows 11 systems.
What DNS Jumper changes—and what it does not
DNS (Domain Name System) translates a domain name, such as a website address, into the network address computers use to reach it. DNS Jumper provides a convenient way to select a DNS server and apply it to Windows network settings.

A resolver can affect how quickly a DNS lookup completes, but lookup time is only one part of loading a site. It is not the same as your connection’s overall speed or download bandwidth. Sordum says a DNS change may improve browsing speed or security in some cases; those are the publisher’s descriptions, not independent evidence that a particular server will be faster or safer for you.
Choosing a resolver also means entrusting that provider with your DNS queries. DNS selection by itself should not be treated as comprehensive privacy protection or as a guaranteed way to bypass network restrictions.

How to apply a DNS server
- Open DNS Jumper and select a server from the Choose a DNS Server drop-down menu.
- If you want to change IPv6 DNS settings too, tick the IPv6 checkbox, as Sordum’s instructions specify.
- Click Apply DNS to apply the selection.
Sordum says the included DNS server list is only a sample and warns users not to use insecure DNS servers. Do not assume a listed option is the best fit simply because it appears in the program. Consider a resolver’s reliability, security features, privacy and data-handling policy, and performance on your own network. The utility’s interface alone does not establish those qualities.
How to restore the default DNS setting
- In DNS Jumper, use Quick Configuration, or choose Default (or Restore) DNS from the server list.
- Tick the IPv6 checkbox as well if you need to restore IPv6 DNS.
- Click Apply DNS.
Sordum describes this option as restoring the default DNS setting. If your network or administrator uses custom DNS settings, check with them before restoring defaults.

What to know about the program and download figures
Sordum says DNS Jumper does not run in the background after changing DNS settings. The publisher’s product page also reports more than 5,000,000 downloads, combining downloads from its own server and other web resources. This is an undated, publisher-reported cumulative figure, not an independently audited count.
