What Dorothy’s rewards actually are
Dorothy’s reward loop has three parts:
- Commission allowance: each job gives you a budget to spend on its design, fabric, decorations, cutting and sewing. This is production money for that job, not a general-purpose payout.
- Friendship: meeting every commission requirement gives +1 friendship. A failed commission still gives +0.25, so failure slows progress rather than resetting it.
- Pattern unlocks: whole friendship stars add new bodices, sleeves and skirts. Star five gives Dorothy’s postcard in the sketchbook and no new pattern.
The available data page is labeled version 0.7.0, Build 446. A separate 2026 guide records the same commission set and Dorothy’s measurements, so requirements below should be read as version-specific rather than assumed to apply to every future update.
Dorothy’s five story commissions and two optional pigeon jobs
There are five main-story commissions and two optional pigeon commissions. The table shows the allowance and every listed condition; missing even one condition can turn a commission into the +0.25 outcome.

Eclectic is the recurring theme: it appears in five of the seven jobs. Later commissions layer on constraints that are easy to overlook, such as a minimum percentage of a color, a number of fabrics or tassels, or a measured length of trim.
How to spend a commission budget without missing a requirement
- Read the complete requirement panel before buying. Separate numerical style targets (such as Eclectic 50) from hard counts (five tassels), percentages (50% purple) and measured quantities (20 cm of trim). Treat each as mandatory.
- Buy requirement-critical items first. For Pigeon Adoption, reserve money for one jewel and one brooch. For Hedge Camouflage, secure green and floral content. For Precious Pigeon, pay for five tassels and four distinct fabrics before optional decoration. For Gala Supporter, lock in purple fabric and 20 cm of trim.
- Use low-cost materials for secondary tags. Budgets of 350–400 leave little room for decorative upgrades. Once every hard condition is covered, select inexpensive fabrics or trims that raise the remaining style tags rather than spending on appearance alone.
- Leave room for quality. Pigeon Adoption accepts Quality 75; every other listed commission requires Quality 80. Do not spend the entire allowance on accessories and discover at the sewing stage that quality is below the threshold.
- Check the final percentages and counts after cutting. Adding or removing a panel can change a color or fabric percentage. Recheck the requirement screen after the garment is assembled, not only when shopping.
- Fit Dorothy before finishing. A technically compliant dress can still fit poorly if measurements are ignored. Use her recorded body measurements when the game asks for them, then confirm quality and tags one last time.
No complete item-price table is established for the game’s materials, so an exact universally cheapest shopping list cannot be stated. Cost-efficient play means funding every hard requirement first and choosing the least expensive items that supply the remaining tags in your own shop inventory.
Commission-by-commission spending priorities
Pigeon Adoption: protect the jewel and brooch budget
This early story job has a 400 allowance and the lowest quality threshold, 75. The traps are the two accessory counts: at least one jewel and at least one brooch. Add both before chasing Warm 50 or Eclectic 50. Once those accessories are secured, use fabric and trim that raise Warm and Eclectic together. Because the threshold is lower than later jobs, surplus money is better spent on fit or a modest quality margin than on expensive ornament.

Hedge Camouflage: make green and flowers visible in the totals
At 350, this is one of the tightest budgets. It needs Quality 80, Daywear 40, Eclectic 25, Flowers 25 and at least 40% green. Select green material early enough that it contributes at least 40% after the whole garment is assembled; a green accent that looks prominent can still fail the percentage check. Add floral decoration only after the color share is safe, then use inexpensive Daywear and Eclectic contributors to reach their thresholds.
Precious Pigeon: count fabrics and tassels before styling
This 350-budget commission requires Quality 80, Eclectic 60, Patterned 30, five tassels and four different fabrics. The four-fabric minimum is a hard count, not a percentage: four shades of one fabric type do not necessarily satisfy it. Keep a running count of distinct fabrics while shopping. Buy or reserve five tassels before spending on optional trim, then use patterned and Eclectic elements that work across those four fabrics. Check the count again after cutting because removing a panel can remove one of the qualifying fabrics.
Dressed Down: satisfy four style tags on the smallest allowance
Dressed Down also has only 350 and asks for Quality 80, Elegant 25, Eclectic 40, Cool 40 and Patterned 40. There is no special accessory or color quota to rescue a weak build, so choose multi-purpose materials: pieces that contribute to Patterned while also helping Cool or Eclectic. Do not interpret the name as permission to lower quality; the quality requirement remains 80.

Gala Supporter: use the larger allowance for measured trim
The 750 budget gives substantially more headroom, but Gala Supporter has the most visibly specific checklist: Quality 80, Glamour 50, Eveningwear 40, Eclectic 50, at least 50% purple and 20 cm of trim. Reserve enough purple material to remain above half of the finished garment, then measure a full 20 cm of trim. After those two hard constraints are safe, spend on Glamour, Eveningwear and Eclectic contributors and raise quality. A purple accessory alone is unlikely to secure the required percentage.
Extraterrestrial Entreaty: distribute seven materials rather than overbuying one
This optional 750-budget job can appear after Floral Romance. It requires Quality 80 and at least 5% each of cotton, lace, linen, sequin, silk, velvet and wool. Treat the seven material types as a checklist. Add a small qualifying portion of every type first, then spend the rest on quality and fit. Because each material must reach 5%, replacing a panel late in construction can make one category fall below the line.
Detective Dorothy: reach the wool majority without losing the style tags
Available after Comfortable Coffin, Detective Dorothy has a 750 allowance and requires Quality 80, Professional 50, Gothic 40 and at least 50% wool. Build the wool majority first, checking the finished percentage rather than the number of wool pieces. Then use professional and Gothic elements that do not dilute wool below half. The generous budget is useful for quality headroom, but it does not remove the need to verify the final material share.

What Dorothy likes as a gift
Gifting opens after the Art Appreciator story commission, whether that commission succeeds or fails. Dorothy’s gift card asks for:
- Eclectic 50
- Glamour 50
- At least 30% blue
- At least one brooch
Build the blue percentage into the main garment, not just a tiny accessory, and reserve a brooch before finalizing the design. The game awards +1 friendship when every line is met. A dress that misses one or more lines gives +0.25 instead. Gifts do not pay gold.

Because a failed commission or gift still grants +0.25, repeated near-misses can eventually advance the relationship, but four successful +1 results reach a star much faster than relying on partial credit.
Dorothy’s measurements and fit checks
The recorded measurements are 98.4 cm bust, 83.2 cm waist and 110.8 cm hips. The guide states that the game saves them after Dorothy’s first visit. Use these values whenever the fitting interface requests her body data. Measurements do not replace the commission’s quality or style requirements; they determine whether the finished pattern is shaped correctly for her.
- Enter the saved values consistently rather than estimating from the character model.
- Check the fit after sewing and before submitting the commission or gift.
- Keep a quality margin above the threshold when the budget allows, since a late material change can lower quality.
If a commission fails
Use the result to identify the missed category
A failed result does not reveal a new reward tier; it pays +0.25 friendship instead of +1. Review the final panel for the category that changed: a percentage may have dropped after cutting, a count may be one short, or quality may have fallen below 75 or 80.
Rebuild around the hard constraint
On a retry, reserve the missed item first. For example, add the brooch before styling Pigeon Adoption, count all five tassels before decorating Precious Pigeon, or measure the complete 20 cm of trim for Gala Supporter. Only after that requirement is visibly satisfied should you spend on optional embellishment.
Do not assume a visual match is enough
Color, style and material conditions are evaluated numerically. A dress that looks green, gothic or eclectic can still miss the game’s percentage or tag threshold. The requirement panel is the authoritative check before submission.
A practical reward strategy
- Complete each story commission with all conditions whenever the budget permits, because a full success gives the largest friendship increase.
- Prioritize the optional pigeon jobs when you have enough materials to cover their unusually strict fabric requirements; both have 750 budgets but can fail on one missing material category.
- Use the gift card as a targeted friendship opportunity after Art Appreciator: prepare Eclectic 50, Glamour 50, 30% blue and one brooch in the same design, then raise quality above 80 before measurements.
- Track the star reward you are pursuing. Stars one through four provide patterns; after star four, the next milestone is the postcard rather than another garment component.
The essential idea is simple: Dorothy’s “reward money” is a production allowance, while the lasting rewards are friendship and patterns. Spend the allowance on non-negotiable requirements first, preserve quality and fit headroom, and use the gift checklist to turn each successful submission into the fastest path toward her pattern set.
