Use the Coat Dress Bodice, Mandarin Collar, Long Cuffed Sleeve, and Coat Dress Skirt, sew them carefully, verify every requirement is green, and submit the finished dress at the photo booth.
What Dorothy’s commission requires
Dorothy’s first request is called Pigeon Adoption. Her commission card displays five hard requirements. The dress must meet the three style and construction scores and include the two specified accessory categories.

Use the correct four pattern pieces
The commission walkthrough specifies a complete dress made from four pieces. Select all four in the sketchbook:
#1 Best Overall
- Minecraft is a game about placing blocks and going on adventures
- Explore randomly generated worlds and build amazing things from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles
- Play in creative mode with unlimited resources or mine deep into the world in survival mode, crafting weapons and armor to fend off the dangerous mobs
- Play on the go in handheld or tabletop modes
- Includes Super Mario Mash-Up, Natural Texture Pack, Biome Settlers Skin Pack, Battle & Beasts Skin Pack, Campfire Tales Skin Pack; Compatible with Nintendo Switch only
- Coat Dress Bodice
- Mandarin Collar
- Long Cuffed Sleeve
- Coat Dress Skirt
These pieces form the required coat-dress silhouette. Choosing a different pattern can change the displayed scores or leave you without the construction needed for Dorothy’s card, so start with this exact set before experimenting with fabric or decoration.
Choose fabric for Warm and Eclectic
In the Emporium, preview fabrics with warm and eclectic tags before purchasing or committing to the design. The walkthrough identifies Green Floral Burnout Velvet as the most reliable single choice for this commission. Starry Night Velvet and Lime Technicolor Velvet are also reported to score well.
The fabric name is not itself a separate commission requirement. What matters is the score shown in the design interface after the selected fabric is applied to the four-piece dress. If another velvet or combination produces the required Warm and Eclectic values, it can be a valid alternative. Compare the displayed scores rather than assuming that a color or name guarantees success.

- With the four required pattern pieces selected, preview the candidate fabric in the Emporium.
- Check the projected Warm and Eclectic values in the design preview.
- Prefer the option that reaches both thresholds while preserving enough budget for the required accessories.
- Keep the candidate only if the finished preview still has a practical path to Quality 75 after cutting, sewing, and decorating.
The exact fabric can vary, but the displayed targets cannot. A visually appealing fabric that misses either style line is not a solution unless another permitted design choice raises the score before submission.
Complete the commission in the right order
Dressmaker’s broader commission loop is consistent: read the card, measure and set the mannequin, design in the sketchbook, buy fabric, select accessories, lay out and cut the pattern, sew, decorate, check the card, and deliver. Dorothy’s request is easiest when you follow that sequence instead of buying decorations first and trying to repair the design at the end.
1. Read the commission card first
Open Dorothy’s card before designing and leave the five target lines visible while you work. This prevents two common errors: making a dress that looks suitable but misses one numeric threshold, and forgetting that the card requires two different accessory categories.
Treat the card as a live checklist. The target is not merely to own the right items; the completed garment must display the required scores and counts.

- Build whatever you can imagine in your own infinite world that’s unique in every playthrough.
2. Set the mannequin and begin the sketchbook design
Use the game’s measuring and mannequin setup stage before cutting. Then open the sketchbook and select Coat Dress Bodice, Mandarin Collar, Long Cuffed Sleeve, and Coat Dress Skirt. Preview the fabric tags and projected values as you assemble the design.
At this point, check Warm and Eclectic before spending time on layout. If the preview is already below either threshold, change the fabric or another available design choice now. It is more efficient to correct the plan in the sketchbook than to discover the problem after sewing.
3. Buy or assign the selected fabric
Choose the fabric that gives the design a dependable route to the two style thresholds. Green Floral Burnout Velvet is the walkthrough’s most reliable one-fabric recommendation; Starry Night Velvet and Lime Technicolor Velvet are additional options with strong reported scores.
Do not treat a fabric purchase as completion of a requirement. The commission is evaluated on the assembled, sewn garment, so continue through cutting, construction, and accessory placement.
4. Lay out every pattern piece on the grain
Place each of the four pattern pieces along its grain line. Rotate a piece until its grain is correctly aligned, then cut it out. The walkthrough specifically calls out grain alignment because an incorrectly oriented piece can undermine the finished result even when the chosen pattern and fabric are correct.
- Check the grain line on the Coat Dress Bodice before cutting.
- Align the Mandarin Collar rather than placing it at an arbitrary angle.
- Rotate the Long Cuffed Sleeve until its grain is correct.
- Confirm the Coat Dress Skirt is aligned before making the cut.
Make the alignment check for every piece, not only the largest one. Cutting the first three correctly does not compensate for a misaligned fourth piece.
5. Pin the pieces to the mannequin
After cutting, pin the pieces to the mannequin so the garment is arranged for construction. This is the transition between the layout stage and sewing; do not skip directly from cutting to decoration.
Rank #3
- Explore each stage and then find even more secrets by making your way through the stage backwards on the flip side
- Overcome varied enemies and obstacles, like Zombie Guys, Skelesaurus, Ukiki, and Monty Mole as you seek out hidden collectables; ESRB Content: Mild Cartoon Violence; Genre: Action, Platformer
- Pass a Joy Con controller to a friend for 2 player cooperative exploration
- Clad Yoshi in collectable, protective, handicraft costumes as he makes his way through each stage
Use the mannequin view to catch a piece that is rotated, misplaced, or not seated correctly. Correcting the arrangement before stitching is safer than trying to compensate with accessories later.
6. Sew along the seam tracks carefully
Follow the on-screen seam tracks for each piece. Rushed or uneven stitching can reduce Quality, and Dorothy’s card requires a relatively high Quality score. Work through the tracks deliberately rather than treating the sewing section as an automatic confirmation.
If the quality preview falls short after sewing, review the construction result before moving on. The walkthrough identifies sewing accuracy as a direct factor in Quality, so accessory purchases cannot substitute for a weak construction score.
7. Open the accessories shop and place both required categories
Once the dress is sewn, open the accessories shop. Buy or select at least one Jewel and one Brooch, then position each item on the garment itself.
This distinction is essential: purchasing an accessory without placing it on the dress does not satisfy the commission card. A button also does not count as a Brooch. The card checks the category attached to the finished garment, not merely an item in your inventory.
- Place one item identified by the game as a Jewel.
- Place one item identified by the game as a Brooch.
- Confirm both appear on the garment in the mannequin or design view.
You may add more decoration if the interface allows it, but extra items do not remove the need for one valid Jewel and one valid Brooch. If the accessory counter remains unchanged, reposition the item on the dress and verify that it is a Brooch rather than a button or another decoration.
8. Check every commission line before leaving the workshop
Return to Dorothy’s card and confirm that all five lines are green. The card must show the required Quality, Warm, and Eclectic results and recognize the placed Jewel and Brooch. This is the last low-risk point at which to adjust the garment.
Use the following order for the final inspection:
- Check the Quality line after sewing.
- Check Warm and Eclectic after the fabric and pattern are fully assembled.
- Check the Jewel count and confirm the item is attached to the dress.
- Check the Brooch count and confirm the item is attached to the dress.
- Do not proceed until every line is green.
If any line is still unfulfilled, the commission is not ready for delivery. Recheck the relevant stage rather than submitting a dress that only looks correct in the preview.
9. Submit the dress at the photo booth
Take the finished dress to the photo booth and choose Complete Commission. The photo-booth action is the delivery step; finishing the garment elsewhere does not submit Dorothy’s request.

Why the accessory details matter
Dorothy’s request separates the Jewel and Brooch requirements from the numeric style scores. A design can reach the Warm and Eclectic thresholds and still fail because an accessory is only purchased, not placed. The same failure occurs if the decoration is a button: it may look like a small metal accent, but the game does not classify it as a Brooch for this card.
Think of the accessory stage as an attachment check. The item must be the correct category and must visibly belong to the garment. If the counter does not change, inspect the item’s label and its position on the dress before buying anything else.

First compare the three displayed scores
Quality, Warm, and Eclectic are the primary design filters. Discard a candidate that cannot reach a required threshold with the available construction and decoration choices. A fabric that is strong in one category but weak in another is only useful if the rest of the design demonstrably closes the gap.
Best Value
- Players must work together and combine the Parr family's iconic abilities and unique powers to build massive LEGO structures
- Players can complete action packed side missions and defeat iconic super villains that control the city districts in an open hub world that provides an exciting free play experience
- Players can modify their character's appearance and abilities using a customize themed to Edna E mode
Then verify the two accessory counts
Once the scores are viable, confirm that the garment has room for and displays both required accessory categories. Keep the Jewel and Brooch check separate: satisfying one does not satisfy the other.
Finally check practical constraints
Use budget, grain alignment, and sewing quality as tie-breakers among otherwise valid designs. The walkthrough does not publish a universal price or a single mandatory fabric cost, so the best choice can depend on what your save currently permits. A cheaper design is not useful if it fails Quality or leaves an accessory unplaced.
Common failure points and fixes
The dress has the right look but a score is below target
Return to the sketchbook and Emporium preview. Confirm that all four specified pieces are selected and compare the displayed Warm and Eclectic values for the chosen fabric. Green Floral Burnout Velvet is the walkthrough’s most dependable single-fabric starting point, while Starry Night Velvet and Lime Technicolor Velvet are additional reported options.

Review the cutting and sewing stages. Make sure every piece was aligned to its grain line before cutting, then follow each seam track carefully. Rushed or uneven stitching can lower Quality, so an accessory change is not a substitute for correcting construction.
The Jewel or Brooch counter is still empty
Buying the item is not enough. Open the garment view, select the accessory, and position it on the dress. If the item is a button, replace it with an item explicitly classified as a Brooch. Check both category labels independently.
The card is not ready at the photo booth
Do not select Complete Commission until every line is green. Reopen the card and inspect the numeric scores and accessory counts. If one line is not green, return to the corresponding design, construction, or decoration stage and correct it before attempting delivery again.
The player submits from the wrong location
The final command is at the photo booth. Bring the completed garment there and choose Complete Commission; completing sewing or decoration alone does not deliver the request.
Rewards and progression after a successful delivery
The dedicated walkthrough reports several progression results from a successful Dorothy delivery:
- A friendship reward.
- A prestige star.
- Access to Berty the pigeon’s adoption.
- Unlocking of the messenger pigeon mail system.
- The You’ve Got Mail achievement.
- New patterns: Bell Sleeve, Katarina Bodice, and Godet Skirt.
These rewards are tied to completing the commission successfully, so verify the card and use the photo-booth completion command rather than leaving the garment in an unfinished state.
