Trentar Private Limited, the technology and infrastructure arm of specialty-chemicals group Dorf Ketal, has proposed a 500 MW hyperscale data-center project in Maharashtra with an announced investment of ₹30,000 crore. The figures describe a proposal—not a facility shown to be under construction or operating. The company says it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government, but a specific site, construction start, financing close and commissioning date have not been established.
What Trentar has announced
Trentar describes its plan as a “500 MW green integrated hyperscale data centre park in Maharashtra.” Its announcement puts the proposed investment at ₹30,000 crore. Those are company-stated proposal figures; they should not be read as completed spending or installed capacity. Trentar’s announcement is the primary source for the project’s stated scale and design intentions.

The proposal marks a move into digital infrastructure by a company associated with a chemicals group. Trentar is identified as Dorf Ketal’s technology and infrastructure arm. Dorf Ketal is a specialty engineered-chemicals company serving refining and petrochemical industries, but the project proponent named in the announcement is Trentar, not the chemical operating business itself. Economic Times reported the group background and land evaluation.

Trentar says it has signed an MoU with the Government of Maharashtra. Under the arrangement, the state is to coordinate applicable permissions, registrations, approvals, clearances and incentives under prevailing policies and regulations. That is a framework for coordination; it is not blanket approval of every permission or proof that construction can begin. The company announcement describes the arrangement and its scope.

- Save valuable floor space: 6U wall mount server cabinet Dimensions: 13.78" H x21.65" W x17.72" D.Maximum mounting depth is 14.2"
- Keep critical network equipment secure: glass door and side panels are lockable to prevent unauthorized access. Front door can be installed on either side of the front of the cabinet to satisfy your door swing orientation preference
- Easy equipment configuration: Fully adjustable mounting rails and numbered U positions, with square holes for easy equipment mounting with top and bottom punch-out panels for easy cable access
- Durability: Made of high quality cold rolled steel holds up to 110lb (50kg) (Easy Assembly Required)
- PCI & HIPPA and EIA/ECA-310-E compliant
Site and schedule remain unsettled
No selected parcel, construction start, financing close or commissioning date is specified in the available project statements. Economic Times reported that Trentar was evaluating land parcels across Maharashtra and expected to complete that evaluation in about a month. That timing is the newspaper’s account of the evaluation, not a confirmed site selection or a delivery deadline. Economic Times’ report is the source for that status.
Renewable power, storage and water plans
Trentar says it is targeting at least 51% renewable-power sourcing for the project. This is a target, not a measurement of electricity already supplied or a guarantee of the eventual operating mix. The company also says it is considering in-house energy storage, treated-water reuse and water-efficient cooling. These remain design considerations: the technology choices are to be determined through detailed design and feasibility studies. Trentar’s announcement and PV Magazine India’s coverage describe the target and design caveats.
