Yes—Australian Don’t Starve Together (DST) hosting is available. Listings identify Sydney locations from Streamline Servers, Pingplayers and Sparked Host, while 4netplayers lists Australia as a served area. Streamline is the only listing here that combines a Sydney location with a DST price in Australian dollars: A$9 per month plus A$0.75 per player slot. However, no published source in this comparison measures latency from an Australian connection, so you must test ping from your own network before committing.
What Australian DST hosting actually changes
A hosted DST server runs the game world in a provider’s data centre instead of on one player’s PC. Every player connects to that machine, so the data-centre region matters more than the host’s company headquarters. A Sydney location generally gives Australian players a shorter network path than a server in North America or Europe, but the word “generally” is important: your internet provider, evening congestion, routing and the location of friends in New Zealand or Asia all affect the result.

Hosting also keeps the world available when the original host is offline. Before ordering, decide whether you need a persistent world, how many people may join simultaneously, whether you will use mods, and who will administer the server. Those decisions determine the slot count and the amount of memory you should buy.

| Provider | Location evidence | Published DST price | Capacity or resources stated | Confidence and caveat |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Streamline Servers | Sydney listed among Australian locations | A$9.00/month base + A$0.75 per slot | 12–36 slots | Strongest match in this set because the listing pairs Sydney with an AUD DST price; page year not stated |
| Pingplayers | AU Sydney listed | From $2.69 per GB for 30 days; fixed tiers around $8–$18 per 30 days (USD) | RAM-based billing; exact RAM in the fixed tiers not stated | Listing advertises a 99.9% uptime SLA; verify what the SLA covers and its exclusions |
| Sparked Host | Configurator offers Sydney, Australia | From $8.80/month for 4 GB RAM (USD) | 4 GB at the entry price | Result was flagged as possibly stale; confirm that Sydney and the price still appear at checkout |
| 4netplayers | Australia named as served area; city not stated | AUD 9.85 in structured data | Not stated | Do not assume Sydney until the current location selector names a city |
| GTXGaming | Sydney reported by a roundup | $11.28/month (USD) | 12 player slots | Second-hand listicle figure; low confidence until the provider confirms an Australian location and current price |
These are not like-for-like plans. Streamline charges by slots, Pingplayers by RAM, Sparked advertises a RAM-sized plan, and the 4netplayers figure does not state its resource allocation. A lower headline price may therefore buy less memory, fewer slots or fewer included features.
What the listed prices mean in practice
Streamline’s slot calculation
Using the published formula, the monthly total is the A$9 base plus A$0.75 multiplied by the number of slots. A 12-slot plan is A$18 per month (A$9 + A$9), while a 36-slot plan is A$36 per month (A$9 + A$27). These calculations assume the advertised range and exclude any tax, setup fee, backup charge or promotion not shown in the listing.

RAM-based billing
Pingplayers publishes a starting rate of $2.69 per GB for 30 days and fixed tiers around $8–$18 per 30 days, all in US dollars. The listing does not identify the RAM attached to each fixed tier, so you cannot compare an $8 tier directly with Streamline’s 12 slots without checking the current configuration. Sparked Host’s advertised starting point is $8.80 per month in USD for 4 GB, but that result may be stale.

- USD prices convert to a different Australian-dollar amount when your card is charged. Your bank can add a foreign-exchange fee.
- An AUD label does not, by itself, prove that Australian GST is included. Look for a tax line on the final checkout screen.
- Confirm whether the number is a recurring monthly renewal, a 30-day period, or a one-time promotional price.
- Check the price for extra backups, additional databases, mod storage, CPU priority and support before comparing plans.
How many slots and how much RAM do you need?
Start with the largest number of simultaneous players you realistically expect, not the number of friends in your chat group. A 12-slot plan is the smallest capacity stated in the Streamline listing and the capacity reported for the GTXGaming offer. If your group is smaller, unused slots may still be worthwhile for occasional guests; if you expect more than the advertised cap, choose a different plan rather than relying on a temporary overage.

RAM is a separate decision. A plan measured in gigabytes should be compared by its assigned memory, CPU policy and storage as well as its slot count. The available listings provide no independent DST benchmark connecting a particular RAM amount to a guaranteed player count. Treat 4 GB as Sparked Host’s advertised entry configuration, not as a universal requirement. Heavy mods, large worlds and many entities can increase resource use, so leave headroom and watch the server’s memory graph after launch.
How to order and configure an Australian DST server
- Write down your requirements. Record expected concurrent players, desired world type, mods, target monthly budget and whether players are primarily in Australia. This prevents a cheap but undersized plan from becoming a false economy.
- Open the provider’s current DST configurator. Select Sydney or another explicitly Australian location. If the selector only says “Australia,” ask support which city and data centre will host the instance.
- Capture the final price. Set the slot or RAM quantity, billing period and backup options. Check the currency, GST, renewal amount and cancellation terms at checkout; do not rely on a search snippet.
- Confirm the game version and access method. Choose the current DST build, then note the hostname, port, control-panel URL and credentials supplied after deployment. Panel labels differ between providers.
- Create or upload the world. Either generate a new world with the server’s DST tool or upload an existing world using the provider’s file manager or SFTP instructions. Stop the server before replacing world files to avoid corruption.
- Set administration and privacy. Add trusted users to the admin list, set a non-obvious password, and keep the management login separate from the in-game password. Install only mods compatible with the running DST version.
- Restart and read the console. A clean startup should show the world loading without repeated mod, authentication or save errors. Resolve those errors before inviting the whole group.
- Test from Australian networks. Have at least two players join from their normal home connections at the same time. Record connection stability, world-save pauses and rubber-banding during a busy session.
- Schedule backups and updates. Keep a downloadable copy of the world, back up before changing mods, and apply DST or mod updates during a planned maintenance window.
How to measure Sydney ping before paying
No source in this comparison publishes a measured Australian latency figure. A Sydney label is therefore a location claim, not a performance guarantee. Test the actual hostname or IP supplied by the provider.

Basic command-line test
- Windows Command Prompt:
ping -n 20 your-server-hostname - macOS or Linux Terminal:
ping -c 20 your-server-hostname - Windows PowerShell for a route check:
Test-NetConnection your-server-hostname - macOS or Linux route check:
traceroute your-server-hostname(usetracerton Windows Command Prompt)
Record the average and worst response, packet loss and whether the route changes at peak evening time. Some hosts block ICMP, in which case a command may show timeouts even though the game works. The decisive test is an actual DST session: connect, move through a busy base, open and close containers, fight a group of enemies and let the world save. Repeat from the connections your regular players use.
Uptime, support and operational questions to ask
Pingplayers advertises a 99.9% uptime SLA. Ask whether that percentage excludes scheduled maintenance, emergency work, network outages or game-provider incidents, and whether compensation is service credit rather than a refund. An SLA does not tell you the latency or the quality of technical support.

Before purchase, ask support these specific questions:
- Is the advertised Sydney or Australian location available on the exact DST plan I selected?
- Are backups automatic, how many restore points are retained, and can I download them?
- Can I install server-side mods and edit configuration files without opening a ticket?
- What happens to my world if a payment fails or I cancel?
- Which support channel handles a corrupted save or a server that will not start?
Providers with DST plans but no confirmed Australian location
Shockbyte listings show $6.99 per month for six players and $11.99 for 12 players in USD, but the available result does not name an Australian location. XGamingServer advertises plans from $7 per month; its result also does not confirm Australia, and a shared-hardware claim is not independently established here. ZAP-Hosting, Nodecraft, GPORTAL and Citadel advertise DST hosting without a confirmed Australian location in the available listings.
These services may still be usable if your players are distributed internationally, but do not infer Sydney-level latency from a generic “global” or “Asia-Pacific” label. Ask for the city, autonomous-system route or a test server, and perform your own ping and in-game test before moving a long-running world.

| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| High ping only at night | Last-mile or ISP congestion | Repeat tests at several times, compare another Australian connection, and ask the host whether a different Sydney network is available |
| Players disconnect when the world saves | Resource pressure, a failing mod or storage delay | Check console and memory/CPU graphs, disable recently added mods, and restore the latest known-good backup |
| Server appears online but nobody can join | Wrong address, stopped process, password or version mismatch | Copy the current hostname and port from the panel, verify the DST build, then restart and inspect startup errors |
| World becomes unstable after a mod update | Mod incompatibility or changed configuration | Stop the server, restore the pre-update backup, remove the offending mod and test updates one at a time |
| Price is higher than advertised | USD conversion, GST, renewal pricing or add-ons | Compare the final recurring checkout total, not the headline rate |
Which option is the best starting point?
For an Australian group that wants the clearest advertised match, Streamline Servers is the practical first quote because its listing states both Sydney and an AUD DST formula. Pingplayers is worth considering when you prefer to size the server by RAM and want to investigate its advertised 99.9% SLA. Sparked Host may suit a 4 GB starting configuration if its Sydney option and price are still live. 4netplayers is a candidate only after you verify the Australian city, and the GTXGaming figure needs confirmation because it comes from a secondary roundup rather than a provider-verified page.
Whichever provider you choose, make the decision on the final Australian location, recurring tax-inclusive price, allocated resources, backup policy and your own in-game latency test. Those checks reveal more than a low headline rate or an unqualified “Australia” badge.
