The Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition works with Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S over Xbox Wireless. It also connects to Windows 10 or Windows 11 PCs, tablets, iPhone and other iOS devices over Bluetooth when the device and operating-system version are supported. The connection method differs by platform, and Windows configuration features require a separate compatible USB-C cable.
Compatibility at a glance
The X25 is an Xbox Wireless Controller, so it has two relevant wireless modes: Xbox Wireless for Xbox consoles and Bluetooth for compatible PCs, phones and tablets. Microsoft describes the console connection as Xbox Wireless and lists Bluetooth support for Windows 10/11, iOS and Android. Xbox also lists Xbox Series X, Series S, Xbox One, Windows 10 PC, Android and iOS as devices that can be paired and switched between. See the current device and operating-system qualifications at xbox.com/controller-compatibility.

Xbox One compatibility
How the X25 connects
On Xbox One, use the console’s Xbox Wireless pairing process rather than the Bluetooth menu found on a phone or PC. The X25 is identified as an Xbox Wireless Controller, and Microsoft lists Xbox consoles as supported connection targets. Xbox has also documented cross-compatibility between Xbox One and Xbox Series X controllers and consoles, which supports using this generation of Xbox controller with Xbox One hardware.
Pairing procedure
- Turn on the Xbox One and the X25.
- Press the console’s pair button, then press and hold the controller’s pair button until the Xbox logo begins flashing.
- Wait for the logo to remain lit. That indicates the wireless pairing completed.
- Sign in with the desired Xbox profile and test the controls in a game or the console dashboard.
Bluetooth pairing is not the Xbox One method. If the controller does not appear while you are looking in a Bluetooth list, switch back to the Xbox Wireless pairing process.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Xbox Series X and Series S compatibility
Both Series consoles are supported
The X25 connects to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S through Xbox Wireless. The same pairing approach used on Xbox One applies: put the console and controller into pairing mode, then wait for the Xbox logo to stop flashing.
Moving between an Xbox console and another device
Xbox describes the controller as able to pair and switch between devices that include Series X, Series S, Xbox One, Windows 10 PC, Android and iOS. In practical terms, you should pair the X25 with each device using that device’s own method. A console uses Xbox Wireless; a PC or iPhone uses Bluetooth. If a console is not responding, verify that the controller is not currently connected to a nearby Bluetooth device and repeat the console pairing step.
Windows 10 and Windows 11
Wireless Bluetooth connection
Microsoft lists wireless Bluetooth connectivity for Windows 10/11 PCs. Your computer therefore needs working Bluetooth hardware, either built in or provided by a compatible adapter. The X25 does not need to be connected to Xbox Wireless for ordinary Bluetooth pairing with Windows.

- Turn Bluetooth on and select Add device (or Add Bluetooth or other device in Windows 10).
- Choose Bluetooth.
- Put the X25 into Bluetooth pairing mode by holding its pair button until the Xbox logo flashes, then select the controller when it appears.
- Wait for Windows to report that the device is connected, and select it as the controller in the game if the title does not automatically detect it.
Xbox Accessories configuration
The Xbox Accessories app supports button mapping on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows 10/11. Microsoft specifies that the Windows app requires a compatible USB-C cable, sold separately. Bluetooth alone is therefore enough for wireless play, but it is not the complete requirement for every configuration feature.
Connect the controller to the PC with the compatible USB-C cable when the app asks for a wired connection. Keep the cable connected while applying button assignments or other supported settings, then disconnect it if you want to return to Bluetooth play. The supplied information does not establish a particular cable length, charging behavior or data-transfer specification, so choose a cable identified as compatible with controller data rather than assuming every USB-C cable will provide the same result.
If Windows cannot find the controller
- Confirm that Bluetooth is enabled and that the controller is actually flashing in pairing mode.
- Move the controller close to the PC during the first pairing.
- Remove an old or duplicate controller entry from Windows Bluetooth settings, then pair again.
- Turn off Bluetooth on a nearby phone or tablet that may have reconnected to the X25.
- Use the USB-C cable to check whether Windows detects the controller as a wired device. This can separate a Bluetooth discovery problem from a controller or cable problem.
iPhone and iOS compatibility
What Microsoft confirms
The X25 listing includes iOS among the devices that can connect over Bluetooth. Xbox’s compatibility information also includes iOS but qualifies that support by the selected device and operating-system version. That means “works with iPhone” is not a guarantee for every iPhone model or every iOS release.

Pairing an iPhone
- Open Settings on the iPhone and choose Bluetooth.
- Turn Bluetooth on.
- Press and hold the X25 pair button until the Xbox logo flashes.
- Tap the controller’s name when it appears under available devices.
- Wait until iOS shows the controller as connected, then open a game that supports external controllers.
The available Microsoft wording does not state a minimum iOS version or provide a complete iPhone model list. Check Microsoft’s current compatibility page for the specific iPhone and iOS release before relying on the controller for a particular game or deployment.

- If the X25 is absent from Bluetooth settings, place it back into pairing mode and keep it near the iPhone.
- If it appears but will not connect, select the existing controller entry, choose the option to forget or remove it, and pair again.
- Temporarily disable Bluetooth on other nearby devices that have previously used the controller.
- Confirm that the game itself supports controllers; iOS can show a connected controller even when an individual game does not accept external input.
- For model- or version-specific problems, use the current compatibility information at xbox.com/controller-compatibility.
Xbox Wireless versus Bluetooth
Understanding the two connection paths prevents most setup mistakes.
| Use case | Use this connection | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Xbox One gaming | Xbox Wireless | This is the console pairing method identified for Xbox controllers. |
| Series X or Series S gaming | Xbox Wireless | Both Series consoles are listed supported targets. |
| Windows 10/11 wireless play | Bluetooth | Microsoft explicitly lists Bluetooth PC connectivity. |
| iPhone or iOS play | Bluetooth | iOS is listed as a Bluetooth-supported platform, subject to device and OS qualifications. |
| Windows button mapping | USB-C cable with Xbox Accessories | The Windows app’s configuration support requires a compatible cable sold separately. |
Do not infer that a successful Bluetooth connection to an iPhone replaces Xbox Wireless pairing on a console, or that console pairing automatically makes the controller visible to Windows. Each platform maintains its own connection record.

Power, cable and accessory requirements
AA batteries
Microsoft identifies AA batteries as the X25 power source. Keep a pair of compatible AA batteries available, or use a rechargeable AA solution if it meets the controller’s requirements. Actual battery life varies with usage and accessories; no single runtime figure is established here, so treat battery-life estimates from unrelated controllers as inapplicable.
USB-C cable
A compatible USB-C cable is the specifically stated requirement for using the Xbox Accessories app on Windows 10/11. Microsoft says the cable is sold separately. The cable requirement is for configuration support; it does not change the fact that ordinary wireless Windows play is listed over Bluetooth.
Bluetooth hardware
A Windows PC must have functioning Bluetooth hardware for wireless pairing. An iPhone has Bluetooth built in, but the phone’s model and iOS version still determine whether the controller is supported according to Microsoft’s qualification.

Common problems and fixes
The controller works on a phone but not on Xbox
Phone pairing uses Bluetooth, while Xbox One and Series X|S use Xbox Wireless. Disconnect or turn off Bluetooth on the phone, then initiate pairing on the console with the console and controller pair buttons.
The controller is connected but a game ignores it
Connection and game support are separate. Confirm that the game supports external controllers, choose the X25 as the active input device if the game offers that setting, and reconnect before launching the game if it only detects controllers during startup.
The Xbox Accessories app cannot configure the controller
On Windows, use a compatible USB-C data cable rather than relying solely on Bluetooth. Microsoft specifically lists that cable requirement for the Windows app. If the app still does not detect the controller, reconnect the cable, try another USB port, and reopen the app.
Pairing keeps switching to the wrong device
Because the X25 can be paired with multiple device types, a nearby phone, tablet or PC may reconnect first. Disable Bluetooth on devices you are not using, remove stale pairings, and pair the controller with the intended device again.
What to check before buying or setting up
- For Xbox One or Series X|S, confirm that you can use the console’s Xbox Wireless pairing process.
- For Windows, confirm that the PC has Bluetooth if you want wireless play.
- For Windows button mapping, budget for a compatible USB-C cable because Microsoft says it is sold separately.
- For iPhone, verify the exact iPhone model and iOS version against the current Xbox compatibility information; the available listing does not define a universal minimum iOS version.
- Have AA batteries or a compatible rechargeable AA setup ready.
- Check that the specific game or app accepts controllers; operating-system pairing does not guarantee support inside every title.
Final verdict
The Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition is compatible with Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S through Xbox Wireless, and with Windows 10/11 and iPhone/iOS through Bluetooth. The main caveats are practical rather than platform exclusions: Windows configuration through Xbox Accessories requires a compatible USB-C cable sold separately, iPhone support depends on the device and iOS version, and the controller uses AA batteries.
