The Xbox Nano Controller works with Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One through Xbox Wireless, and it can connect by Bluetooth to compatible Windows 10/11 PCs, iPhones, iPads, Android devices and compatible smart TVs. Microsoft limits mobile and Bluetooth support to selected devices and operating-system versions, and the game you want to play must itself support controllers. The controller has an internal rechargeable battery; a USB-C charging cable is required and sold separately.
Compatibility at a glance
The connection method depends on the platform. Xbox consoles use Xbox Wireless, while phones, tablets, Windows PCs and compatible televisions use Bluetooth. That distinction matters: a device can have Bluetooth and still be outside Microsoft’s supported-device or operating-system requirements.

| Device | Connection | What Microsoft establishes | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Xbox Series X|S | Xbox Wireless | Supported | Pair it as an Xbox wireless controller. |
| Xbox One | Xbox Wireless | Supported | Pair it as an Xbox wireless controller. |
| Windows 10/11 PC | Bluetooth | Supported on compatible systems | Bluetooth support is qualified by device and operating-system compatibility. |
| iPhone or other iOS device | Bluetooth | Supported on compatible devices and OS versions | Not every iPhone, iPad or iOS version is guaranteed to work. |
| Android phone or tablet | Bluetooth | Supported on compatible devices and OS versions | Android model and version eligibility varies. |
| Compatible smart TV | Bluetooth | Listed by Xbox as a supported category | TV model, region and service availability determine what you can use. |
Xbox’s product specification summarizes the arrangement this way: “Connect to XBOX consoles with XBOX Wireless. Wirelessly connect to Windows 10/11 PCs, tablets, iOS, Android, and compatible Smart TVs with Bluetooth.”

Does it work with iPhone and iPad?
It can, provided the iOS or iPadOS device and its version are among the combinations Microsoft supports. The connection is Bluetooth rather than Xbox Wireless, so the phone must expose a compatible Bluetooth game-controller connection and the game must accept controller input.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
How to connect on iOS
- Charge the controller using a compatible USB-C cable. The cable is needed for charging and is sold separately; it is not stated to be included in the package.
- Put the controller into its Bluetooth-pairing state according to the controller’s instructions.
- On the iPhone or iPad, open Settings, choose Bluetooth, turn Bluetooth on and select the controller when it appears.
- Open a game that explicitly supports controllers and check its control settings. Seeing the controller listed in Bluetooth does not make a non-compatible game accept it.
What “compatible iOS device” means
Microsoft’s mobile footnote says: “Mobile and Bluetooth: select devices and versions; some functionality not supported.” Because Microsoft does not publish a universal phone-model list in the cited specification, it would be inaccurate to promise support for every iPhone or every iOS release. If a particular phone does not discover the controller, first confirm that its operating-system version is current and that the model is eligible before assuming the controller is defective.
Can you use it on Android?
Yes, on compatible Android phones and tablets. Android pairing also uses Bluetooth. Android hardware and software vary substantially between manufacturers, so the same controller can appear on one model and fail to appear on another model that has a similar Android version.
Android pairing steps
- Charge the controller with a USB-C cable; charging cable availability is separate from wireless compatibility.
- Activate the controller’s Bluetooth-pairing mode using the procedure supplied with the controller.
- Open Settings on the Android device, go to Connected devices or the manufacturer’s Bluetooth menu, enable Bluetooth and choose the controller.
- Launch a controller-compatible game. If the game offers a controller or input menu, select the detected gamepad there.
If Android pairs but the game does nothing
That normally points to game support rather than a Bluetooth failure. The platform listing does not guarantee that every Android game accepts a physical controller. Check the game’s own documentation or settings, then test a title that clearly advertises controller support. Also remember that a successful pairing only proves that the phone and controller exchanged Bluetooth credentials; it does not prove that every feature is implemented by the phone or game.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Will it work with a Windows PC?
Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs are listed as supported through Bluetooth. The PC therefore needs working Bluetooth hardware or a compatible Bluetooth adapter, and the operating system must be a supported Windows release. Microsoft does not state a universal list of PC models or Bluetooth adapters, so compatibility should be checked on the specific computer.
Windows setup
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled in Windows and that the controller has charge.
- Place the controller in Bluetooth-pairing mode.
- Open Settings in Windows, select Bluetooth & devices, turn Bluetooth on, choose Add device, select Bluetooth and pick the controller from the discovered-device list.
- Start the intended game and select the controller in its input options if the game provides that choice.
Windows support in the specification is wireless Bluetooth support. The cited material does not establish that a USB-C cable provides wired gameplay, so do not buy a cable expecting it to turn the controller into a guaranteed wired PC gamepad. Its confirmed purpose is charging.
Does it connect to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One?
Yes. Both Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One are explicitly supported, and the console connection uses Xbox Wireless rather than Bluetooth. This is the intended console connection path and is separate from the Bluetooth pairing used by phones, tablets, PCs and televisions.

Console connection
- Turn on the Xbox console and the controller.
- Use the console and controller pairing controls described in the controller’s instructions to place both devices into their Xbox Wireless pairing states.
- Wait for the console to identify the controller, then sign in or select a profile as required by the console.
- Open a game and verify that its control prompts respond to the controller.
If the controller is currently connected to a phone or PC, end that Bluetooth session before attempting console pairing. A console’s Xbox Wireless connection and a mobile device’s Bluetooth connection are different links; being visible to one does not mean it is simultaneously active on the other.

Do you need a cable?
You need a USB-C cable to recharge the internal battery. Microsoft’s specification states, “USB-C cable required for charging, sold separately.” That means a cable is an additional requirement even though the controller itself is wireless.
- For normal play: the documented console and mobile/PC connections are wireless.
- For charging: use a suitable USB-C cable and a compatible USB power source.
- For wired play: no guarantee is established in the cited specifications. Treat the cable’s confirmed role as charging unless the controller’s own manual documents a wired data mode.
The available material does not publish a battery-capacity figure, battery-life estimate or recharge time. Do not use an advertised runtime from another controller as a substitute for a Nano Controller specification.

What games and apps will recognize it?
Hardware compatibility and game compatibility are separate questions. Xbox consoles generally expect Xbox controllers, but on iOS, Android and Windows the individual game or app must implement controller input. A Bluetooth connection can succeed while a game ignores every button.
Before troubleshooting the controller
- Look for a controller or gamepad option in the title’s settings.
- Check whether the game supports external controllers on your platform, not merely on another platform.
- Test the controller in a second, known controller-compatible title to distinguish a game limitation from a pairing problem.
- Close and reopen the game after pairing; some games inspect connected devices only when they start.
Microsoft’s listing does not provide a complete game-by-game compatibility catalog, so no universal list of mobile titles can be promised.

Compatible smart TVs are included in Xbox’s Bluetooth description, but television model, operating-system version and service support still matter. Compatibility with a TV’s Bluetooth menu does not automatically mean that every app installed on that TV accepts the controller.

Xbox Wire reported on October 14, 2026, that Xbox is partnering with Samsung on a special Xbox Nano Controller promotion. In the United States, new members buying select Samsung TVs may receive a two-month Game Pass Ultimate offer, and players in select regions can use Xbox cloud play through Samsung Gaming Hub after connecting the controller. This is a regional promotion, not a statement that cloud play or the offer is available on every smart TV or in every country. Check the offer’s current terms, eligible television models and region before relying on it.
How to diagnose a connection problem
The device never sees the controller
- Confirm the controller is charged and actually in Bluetooth-pairing mode when using a phone, PC or TV.
- On a console, use the Xbox Wireless pairing procedure instead of searching the console’s Bluetooth menu.
- Turn Bluetooth off and on on the mobile device or PC, then search again.
- Remove an old saved pairing for the controller and retry if the device reports that it is already paired elsewhere.
- Check the device model and operating-system version against Microsoft’s “select devices and versions” qualification.
It pairs, then disconnects
- Recharge the internal battery and repeat the pairing process.
- End the controller’s connection on another nearby phone, tablet or PC before reconnecting.
- Restart the host device and test again from its Bluetooth settings.
- If the failure occurs only in one game, test a different controller-compatible game; the title may be the limiting component.
Buttons work in the menu but not in a game
That symptom is consistent with an unsupported game or an input mode that must be enabled inside the game. Look for the game’s controller settings and confirm that the game supports external pads on the exact platform you are using. Do not infer universal game support from the controller’s successful Bluetooth pairing.
The controller works on Xbox but not on a phone
That is possible because the two platforms use different wireless systems. Xbox Wireless compatibility does not override Microsoft’s separate mobile and Bluetooth qualification. Verify the phone’s model and OS version, use Bluetooth pairing rather than the console procedure, and remember that some functionality may not be supported on selected mobile combinations.
What to check before buying for a specific setup
If your main goal is cross-device use, evaluate the controller against these practical questions:
| Question | Why it matters | What is established here |
|---|---|---|
| Which wireless standard does my device need? | Xbox consoles use Xbox Wireless; phones, PCs and TVs use Bluetooth. | Both connection paths are documented for their respective platforms. |
| Is my exact phone or tablet eligible? | Mobile support varies by device and OS version. | Microsoft says support is limited to selected devices and versions; no universal model list is provided. |
| Does my game accept controllers? | Pairing alone cannot add controller support to a game. | Only controller-compatible games are covered. |
| Do I have a charging cable? | The controller uses an internal rechargeable battery. | A USB-C charging cable is required and sold separately. |
| Do I need wired operation? | Some users expect USB to carry gameplay data. | The cited specification confirms charging, but does not guarantee wired gameplay. |
| Am I relying on a TV cloud-gaming offer? | Promotions and cloud features can be regional and time-limited. | The October 14, 2026 Samsung promotion applies to select TVs and regions, not universally. |
For smaller hands, compare the controller’s physical dimensions and button reach with alternatives in person or against manufacturer measurements. The cited compatibility material does not publish universal ergonomics, size, latency or battery-life figures, so those are separate purchasing questions rather than reasons to assume a connection will work.
Quick Recap
Bottom line for each platform
- iPhone/iPad: Yes, when the iOS device and version are among Microsoft’s supported combinations and the game supports controllers.

- Windows: Yes on compatible Windows 10/11 PCs with Bluetooth.
- Xbox: Yes on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One through Xbox Wireless.
- Cable: Required to charge the internal battery and sold separately; wired gameplay is not established by the cited specification.
