The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is listed by Nintendo as a single-player game: its US product page specifies “Single system (1).” Nintendo also lists Save Data Cloud support, which Nintendo Switch Online members can use for cloud backup. That listing does not establish multiplayer or cross-platform save sharing. The name “Echoes of Hyrule” does not match the official game name, so this answer assumes you mean Echoes of Wisdom.
Does Echoes of Wisdom have multiplayer?
No multiplayer mode is listed. Nintendo’s US product page specifies the player count as “Single system (1),” meaning the game is presented as a one-player experience on one system. The listing does not advertise local co-op, online multiplayer, or another way for multiple people to play together.

This is a statement about the official product information: Nintendo lists one player. It is more precise than treating an unlisted feature as a separate, explicit denial of every possible play arrangement. For the game’s published player count, however, the answer is clear: one player.

Nintendo lists “Save Data Cloud” for Echoes of Wisdom. Nintendo Support says a Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to use Save Data Cloud. This is cloud backup for save data; it is not a multiplayer feature.
#1 Best Overall
Cloud backup and cross-platform saves are different capabilities. A cloud-save listing establishes that the game supports Nintendo’s Save Data Cloud, but it does not by itself establish that a save can be shared or synchronized between different platforms. The cited Nintendo pages do not specify cross-platform save sharing for this game, so you should not count on it based on the cloud-save label alone.
| Feature | What Nintendo’s information establishes |
|---|---|
| Player count | “Single system (1)” on Nintendo’s US product listing. |
| Cloud backup | “Save Data Cloud” is listed; Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to use the feature. |
| Multiplayer | No multiplayer mode is advertised; the listed player count is one. |
| Cross-platform save sharing | Not established by the cited listing or support instructions. |
How to check Save Data Cloud support
Nintendo gives several places to verify whether a game supports Save Data Cloud. The menu wording can differ depending on where you check, so look for the feature name rather than assuming that cloud backup is available for every game.
- On the Nintendo eShop: Open the game’s listing and check its Software Details for Save Data Cloud support.
- On the Nintendo Store: Open the game’s product page and look in the “About this item” section.
- From the game’s software menu: Open the software’s options and check the save-data cloud compatibility information.
Nintendo’s support instructions are available at How To Identify If a Game Supports Save Data Cloud Backup. A Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to use Save Data Cloud; seeing the compatibility label does not remove that requirement.

Nintendo Support says that Switch software compatible with Nintendo Switch 2 can have save data backed up and downloaded on either system. It also cautions that added Switch 2 features or content may not be accessible when that save data is used on Nintendo Switch. This is general Nintendo guidance, not confirmation that Echoes of Wisdom has particular Switch 2-exclusive content or that its save is shared across platforms.
Rank #2
- Save the Kingdom of Hyrule - this time as Princess Zelda - in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom for Nintendo Switch
- In this new installment of The Legend of Zelda range, it's up to Zelda and her wisdom to save the kingdom of Hyrule. Its inhabitants disappear into strange cracks - and with them a very specific sword fighter.
- Step into the role of Princess Zelda and save Hyrule from a mysterious force. Use their wisdom and tri rod to solve puzzles and defeat enemies.
- Creativity is the key to success: discover the power of Tri-Stab and create imitations of objects and creatures, so-called echoes. Use these echoes to overcome obstacles and take over in battle.
- Beautifully designed world full of secrets and captivating story full of adventures.
In other words, do not use the general Switch 2 guidance as proof of a specific cross-save feature for this game. Check the game’s own compatibility information and Nintendo’s current instructions for the systems you intend to use.

Nintendo’s official US product page names the game The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, released September 26, 2024. The page is the source for its one-player specification and Save Data Cloud listing: Nintendo: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. If you meant a different game by “Echoes of Hyrule,” these details may not apply.
Practical answer
Plan to play Echoes of Wisdom alone. If you want cloud backup, the game is listed as supporting Save Data Cloud, and you need Nintendo Switch Online to use it. The official information cited here does not confirm multiplayer or cross-platform save sharing.
