No. HogWarp does not support console players or documented PC-to-console crossplay. The multiplayer framework is a third-party PC mod. Its published setup uses a Windows game executable, Discord authentication and a keyboard shortcut inside the PC game. PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch versions do not have a supported HogWarp client, so a console copy cannot join a HogWarp session.
That limitation is consistent with the official Hogwarts Legacy mod guidance, which says that mods are currently supported on PC only. If you want to use HogWarp, you need the Windows PC edition and a compatible installation; owning the game on a console does not provide access to the mod.

HogWarp compatibility at a glance
HogWarp is described on its Nexus Mods page as a “multiplayer framework for Hogwarts Legacy, targeting roleplay and extension.” It is not a feature built into the game by its publisher. The current version shown on that listing is 0.8.0-beta2, and the page was updated on 27 February 2025.

Why console crossplay is not available
HogWarp has no supported console client
A multiplayer mod has to run on every client that joins the same session. HogWarp’s published workflow is built around locating a PC executable and injecting or launching the framework from that Windows installation. The documentation does not provide a PlayStation, Xbox or Switch build, launcher or installation method.
Without a console client, a console player has no supported way to load the framework. A PC player cannot make the missing client appear by hosting a server, and changing network settings cannot substitute for a version of the mod compiled for the console platform.
The game’s official mod policy is PC-only
The official Hogwarts Legacy mod FAQ lists the game on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Its mod guidance is narrower: it says that Hogwarts Legacy currently supports mods on PC. CurseForge’s official Hogwarts Legacy FAQ states the same point verbatim: “Hogwarts Legacy mods are currently supported on PC only.”

There is no documented bridge between the PC and console editions
The cited HogWarp material does not describe cross-platform matchmaking, a console companion application, remote streaming support or an official account service that synchronizes modded and unmodded clients. Consequently, there is no documented route for a Windows player to invite someone playing the PlayStation, Xbox or Switch edition into the same HogWarp session.
What this means for each console
PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4
Neither PlayStation edition has a supported HogWarp installation. A PlayStation player can use the normal Hogwarts Legacy game, but cannot load the PC framework or join a session hosted through the PC mod.
Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One
The Xbox editions likewise have no documented HogWarp client. The restriction applies to both generations listed in the official platform FAQ; it is not limited to the newer Series consoles.

The Switch version is also outside HogWarp’s supported environment. The mod’s Windows executable workflow cannot be transferred to the Switch edition, so Switch players cannot use it for multiplayer or crossplay.
How the published HogWarp PC setup works
The setup sequence explains why the framework is a PC-only tool. The cited Nexus Mods instructions describe these actions:
- Use a Windows PC installation of Hogwarts Legacy. You must be able to locate the game’s executable on the computer. The console editions do not expose that Windows executable or a compatible mod-loading environment.
- Point the launcher or framework to the executable. The setup requires finding the Hogwarts Legacy program file rather than selecting a console copy from an account library.
- Click Login. This begins the framework’s account sign-in process.
- Authenticate with Discord. Discord sign-in is part of the documented launcher workflow, so the PC user should be ready to complete that authentication step.
- Launch Hogwarts Legacy. Start the game through the PC installation after the launcher has accepted the login.
- Load a save. The instructions call for loading into a saved game before opening the multiplayer interface.
- Open the server list with
Right Ctrl. The cited instructions identify the right Control key as the shortcut for bringing up the server list in-game.
This sequence is not a generic console-multiplayer procedure. It depends on Windows file access, a desktop launcher and a physical keyboard key, which is why a console copy cannot simply follow the same steps.
Version, beta status and game-build compatibility
The Nexus Mods listing identifies the framework as version 0.8.0-beta2 and shows a page update date of 27 February 2025. The “beta2” label indicates that the cited build is a beta release rather than a guarantee of permanent compatibility. A later Hogwarts Legacy patch can change files, executable behavior or networking interfaces that a mod relies on.

Before installing, compare the game version on your Windows PC with the compatibility information on the current mod page. If the framework has not been updated for your game build, the safest choice is to wait for a compatible release rather than assume that the older beta will work. Keep a backup of your saves before experimenting with any third-party framework, and remove or disable the mod if the unmodified game is the priority.

Common questions and practical decisions
Does buying Hogwarts Legacy on PlayStation or Xbox unlock HogWarp?
No. A console purchase gives you the console edition, not the Windows executable and launcher environment that HogWarp requires. Buying the game again for a Windows PC is a separate platform decision; the console license itself does not transfer the mod to PlayStation, Xbox or Switch.
Can a PC host invite a console friend who does not install the mod?
There is no supported invitation path in the cited documentation. HogWarp requires the participating client to run the framework, and no console client is documented. A normal, unmodded console installation therefore cannot join a HogWarp session.
Is HogWarp an official Hogwarts Legacy multiplayer mode?

Follow the order in the published workflow: confirm that the framework is pointed at the correct Windows executable, complete the Login step and Discord authentication, launch the game through the PC installation, and load a save before pressing Right Ctrl. If the page’s current requirements differ from those steps, use the current instructions for the installed version.
Can another multiplayer project solve the console limitation?
Changing projects does not automatically add console support. One separate project, Wandrealm, is listed as requiring a legitimate Steam or Epic Games Store copy on a Windows PC. Its listing specifically excludes the Xbox app/Game Pass copy. That requirement still describes a PC installation, not a PlayStation, Xbox or Switch client, so it should not be treated as evidence of console crossplay.
