This is about DeX’s desktop-style interface; it does not by itself answer whether another form of screen mirroring is available.
What Samsung’s specifications say about the A53
Samsung’s Galaxy A53 5G specifications identify the phone’s connector as USB Type-C and its USB standard as USB 2.0, list MHL as “No,” and separately list Samsung DeX support as “No.” The decisive compatibility detail is the explicit DeX entry: having USB-C does not mean a phone supports DeX or can send video to an external display.

Samsung’s DeX-compatible device listing also does not include the A53. That page is regional, so check Samsung’s support information for your country and exact model if you need to confirm local compatibility.

Samsung’s DeX setup guidance describes connecting a compatible mobile device to a TV or monitor using supported accessories, such as a DeX Station, DeX Pad or HDMI adapter. Those accessories provide a connection method for compatible phones; they do not add DeX support to a phone Samsung identifies as unsupported.

For that reason, do not buy a USB-C-to-HDMI adapter or DeX dock on the assumption it will give the A53 DeX. The phone’s USB-C connector alone is not evidence of video output, and Samsung’s specifications separately say MHL and DeX are not supported.
DeX compatibility is different from screen mirroring
Samsung describes DeX as a PC-like experience on an external display. It is not simply the phone screen enlarged: DeX provides a desktop-style environment for supported devices. The A53’s lack of DeX support does not establish whether every other kind of screen mirroring is unavailable. Check the phone’s and display’s specifications for the specific mirroring method you want; do not treat mirroring compatibility as proof of DeX support.

What to choose if you need DeX
Choose a phone Samsung lists as DeX-compatible, and confirm the exact model and connection method before buying. Samsung’s device listing includes the Galaxy S24 among compatible devices; its Developer guidance explains how DeX works and the supported setup options: Samsung DeX for developers. Compatibility and the required display or accessories depend on the device and whether you plan to connect by cable, wirelessly or through a PC.
