Yes, but not identically on every platform. The Crew Motorfest supports cross-platform matchmaking in some multiplayer modes and cross-progression between compatible platforms when you use the same Ubisoft account. The Nintendo Switch 2 edition, launched October 8, 2026, is the exception: Ubisoft says it does not support full cross-play, although it can participate in specified races, events and leaderboards across platforms.
Cross-play and cross-progression are different features
Cross-play determines whether you can be matched with people playing on another platform. It applies to multiplayer activity and does not necessarily mean that every mode uses a shared matchmaking pool.

Cross-progression determines whether your account-level progress and eligible content are available when you move between platforms. It is possible to have cross-progression without unrestricted cross-play, which is the situation for the Nintendo Switch 2 version.
Ubisoft’s general support description says Motorfest allows players to matchmake across platforms in some multiplayer modes. Its separate content-sharing guidance covers progress and eligible items. Treat those as two settings of the same Ubisoft account, not as one universal feature that transfers everything.

Which platforms can play together?
| Platform situation | Cross-play scope | Cross-progression |
|---|---|---|
| PC, PlayStation and Xbox versions covered by Ubisoft’s general cross-play support | Cross-platform matchmaking is available in some multiplayer modes. The support wording does not promise that every mode is cross-play enabled. | Available when the same Ubisoft account, or a console account linked to it, is used and the game is launched on both platforms. |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | No full cross-play. Ubisoft specifically lists Grand Race, Demolition Royale, Summit Contest leaderboards and Event leaderboards as cross-platform activities. | Supported, including cross-progression and cross-save, subject to the same account and purchase limitations. |
Do not describe Switch 2 as having unrestricted matchmaking with every other version. A Switch 2 player can appear in the listed competitive activities and leaderboards, but Ubisoft’s October 2026 FAQ expressly says the version does not support full cross-play.
What Switch 2 players can do
Shared activities
Ubisoft’s Switch 2 FAQ identifies four cross-platform areas: Grand Race, Demolition Royale, Summit Contest leaderboards and Event leaderboards. These are the confirmed shared activities in the launch guidance. The FAQ does not extend that promise to every playlist, free-roam interaction or multiplayer mode.
Cross-save and account progress
The Switch 2 edition supports cross-progression and cross-save. Sign in with the Ubisoft account that holds your existing Motorfest progress, then launch the game on both the original platform and Switch 2. Your eligible account data can follow you even though the Switch 2 matchmaking pool is limited.

Content bought through another platform’s game store or platform store does not transfer to Switch 2. Ubisoft says players who want that content on Switch 2 must purchase the relevant item for that platform. This applies alongside the broader rule that store purchases are not shared between platforms.
Requirements for cross-progression
The account connection is the essential requirement. Ubisoft’s content-sharing guidance specifies the following sequence:
- Use the same Ubisoft account on each platform. On a console, the console account must be linked to that Ubisoft account.
- Install and start Motorfest on both platforms. Simply owning the game on a second system is not enough to initialize the sharing relationship.
- Confirm that both sessions use the intended Ubisoft account before creating new progress. Signing into a different Ubisoft account creates a separate progression history.
- Check the item category if something is missing. Earned, shareable content follows different rules from content purchased through an in-game or platform store.
If you are moving from a console to PC, or from one console family to another, do not unlink accounts casually. The supported arrangement is the same Ubisoft account, with the console identity linked to it where applicable.
How to control cross-play matchmaking
On consoles
- Open Options from the game’s menu.
- Select Game Settings.
- Find the Matchmaking setting.
- Choose Off to disable cross-play matchmaking, or On to enable it again.
Ubisoft says cross-play is enabled by default on supported console versions. This setting controls matchmaking; it does not erase cross-progression or unlink your account.

On PC
Ubisoft’s support instructions say cross-play cannot be disabled on PC. PC players therefore use the default cross-platform matchmaking behavior where the relevant multiplayer mode supports it.
Xbox Series X|S
Xbox Series X|S players can also edit cross-play permissions directly through the console’s system settings. The in-game Matchmaking control remains the clearest place to check Motorfest’s own setting, while Xbox privacy controls can impose an additional restriction.
On Switch 2
Use the Switch 2-specific compatibility description rather than assuming the general console toggle provides full cross-play. The platform’s supported cross-platform activities remain limited to those Ubisoft lists in its launch FAQ.
What progress and content transfer?
Ubisoft’s October 7, 2026 content-sharing listing identifies earned or otherwise eligible account content that can be shared across compatible platforms. The categories include:
| Content type | Cross-platform treatment |
|---|---|
| Bucks | Eligible earned currency is shareable. |
| Crew Credits | Eligible account-held credits listed by Ubisoft as shareable transfer with the account. |
| Cosmetics and vanities | Shareable when they are eligible account content rather than a platform-specific purchase. |
| Liveries | Eligible liveries transfer with the account. |
| Prestige Tickets | Listed as shareable account content. |
| Vehicles | Eligible vehicles transfer with the account. |
The practical test is not simply whether an item appears in your garage. Ask how you obtained it and whether Ubisoft classifies it as eligible content. Earned rewards and the categories listed above can follow the account; a purchase made through a particular store cannot be assumed to do so.
What does not transfer?
In-game and platform-store purchases
Ubisoft says content purchased from the in-game store or a platform store is not shared across platforms. A car, cosmetic, vanity or bundle bought on one platform may therefore be absent on another even when your earned vehicles and progression are present.
Switch 2 purchases
The same restriction applies in the other direction. Buying an item on PC, PlayStation or Xbox does not grant the Switch 2 edition a copy of that purchase. To use the relevant paid content on Switch 2, Ubisoft says it must be purchased for Switch 2.

Why a missing item is not necessarily a sync failure
Before troubleshooting an account link, classify the missing item. If it was bought through a store, its absence is expected under Ubisoft’s cross-platform policy. If it was an eligible earned reward, then check the account, linked console identity and whether the game was launched on both platforms.
Co-op rewards have an additional limitation
Account-level cross-progression does not make every co-op reward identical for every participant. Ubisoft’s co-op guidance says playlist race rewards are saved only for the Crew leader.
A Crew member can retain currency, XP, an XP bonus and performance parts only when that player has already activated the Playlist by visiting its location in-game. A member using a loaned vehicle cannot earn performance parts from that activity.
- Crew leader: Playlist race rewards are saved to the leader’s progression.
- Crew member with the Playlist activated: Currency, XP, XP bonus and eligible performance parts can be retained.
- Crew member using a loaned vehicle: Performance parts cannot be earned from the race.
This rule concerns who receives a reward in a co-op session. It is separate from whether the resulting account progress can later be accessed on another platform.
How the free trial handles progress
Ubisoft’s free-trial help page says the trial allows up to five hours and saves progress for resumption on a cross-progression-compatible platform. The page lists Epic Games Launcher, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Ubisoft Connect PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

1. Verify the Ubisoft account
Sign out and check the account identifier on both platforms. A console profile linked to a different Ubisoft account will not expose the progress held by your intended account.

2. Launch the game on both systems
Ubisoft’s sharing instructions require the game to be launched on both platforms. Complete that step before judging whether the save or eligible items are available.
3. Separate earned content from purchases
Check the acquisition history of the missing item. Store purchases are excluded from cross-platform sharing, while Ubisoft’s listed earned categories are eligible.

4. Check the platform qualification
If the issue concerns playing with friends rather than account progress, identify the platform. Switch 2’s restricted cross-play scope is expected behavior, not an account error.
5. Recheck after major updates
Compatibility can change with a substantial game update or a new platform release. Ubisoft’s support listing used for these rules was updated October 7, 2026, and the Switch 2 edition launched October 8, 2026, so verify current support information after later changes.
Examples of how the rules work
Moving from PlayStation to PC
Use the same Ubisoft account, link the console account to it, and launch Motorfest on both systems. Eligible earned vehicles, cosmetics, currencies and other listed content can appear on PC. A store purchase made on PlayStation should not be expected to appear on PC.
Playing with a friend on another console
Cross-play can match players across supported platforms in multiplayer modes that use cross-platform matchmaking. If either player is on Switch 2, limit expectations to Grand Race, Demolition Royale, Summit Contest leaderboards and Event leaderboards.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteBuying a vehicle on one platform and switching to Switch 2
The account may carry eligible earned vehicles, but the vehicle purchased through the other platform’s store does not transfer. The Switch 2 edition requires that paid content to be purchased for Switch 2.
Joining a friend’s Playlist race
The Crew leader receives the playlist race rewards. A Crew member must have activated the Playlist in advance to retain the specified currency, XP, XP bonus and performance parts, and a loaned vehicle prevents performance-part earnings.
Quick Recap
Bottom line for each platform choice
- Want the broadest cross-play expectation? Use a PC, PlayStation or Xbox version covered by Ubisoft’s general cross-play support, while remembering that matchmaking is mode-specific.
- Want to continue the same save on Switch 2? Cross-progression and cross-save are supported with the same Ubisoft account, but full cross-play is not.
- Want paid items on a second platform? Budget for platform-specific repurchases because store purchases are not shared.
- Want consistent co-op rewards? Activate the Playlist before joining and avoid a loaned vehicle when performance parts matter.
