Why the Hijri date may appear in Calendar but not on the lock screen
Samsung Calendar and the system lock screen are separate display contexts. Samsung support responses describe Hijri dates as available in the Calendar app; a Samsung Members moderator has said the standard Calendar lock-screen widget shows synced events rather than alternate-calendar formats. Check whether your Galaxy has a built-in lock-screen option
Reports differ: some Samsung Members users describe a native Hijri option on their phones, while others say it is missing. The available reports do not establish a reliable model-by-model or region-by-region compatibility list, or whether model, firmware, sales region, or another setting explains the difference. Compare like with like: the exact Galaxy model, where it was sold, its One UI version, and whether the date is being viewed on the lock-screen clock, in Samsung Calendar, or in a widget. Add a lock-screen widget on One UI 7.0 or later
Samsung Gulf documents adding one or two supported widgets to the lock screen or Always On Display in One UI 7.0 or later. This procedure adds available widgets; it does not guarantee that a Hijri calendar widget or a Samsung Calendar widget displaying alternate dates is supported on a particular phone. - Press and hold an empty area on the lock screen.
- Tap Add Widgets and choose one or two of the widgets offered on that phone.
- Tap Done.
If the built-in option is missing
One Samsung Members user reports using a third-party Hijri calendar widget with Samsung’s LockStar module as a workaround. This is a user-reported approach, not a guaranteed Samsung-supported setup: check that the widget and LockStar are available for your device and that they work together on its software version before relying on them. If you want to remove a Hijri date already on the lock screen
Search Settings for Hijri or calendar, then inspect the matching Lock screen or AOD controls. Users have reported a setting to disable the date there, though the exact control depends on the phone’s software build. Samsung Community discussion
