Does HTML.to.design Support Websites Built with React or Webflow?

html.to.design works from rendered webpages, not React or Webflow source projects. Learn which capture route suits public, private, and local pages, plus what to inspect in Figma.

Yes, you can try importing a React- or Webflow-built website into Figma with html.to.design, but its documentation does not promise support for either framework specifically. The tool captures a rendered webpage and converts it into editable Figma layers; it is not a React or Webflow project importer, and a successful capture does not reconstruct the site’s source code or guarantee a perfect visual match.

What “support” means for React and Webflow sites

html.to.design documents a workflow for capturing webpages and converting them into editable Figma layers. That workflow is based on what the browser renders, rather than on which framework or site builder generated the page. Its displayed supported-tool list names Notion, but does not list React or Webflow as framework-specific integrations. The product documentation therefore supports a general rendered-page workflow, not a promise that every React or Webflow page will import cleanly.

In practice, the useful question is whether the particular page you want to capture can be loaded and displayed in a browser in the state and viewport you need. The output is a Figma design representation, not the original React app, Webflow project, or a working copy of the site’s interactions.

Choose the import route based on page access

Public page: enter its URL in the Figma plugin

  1. Open the html.to.design plugin in Figma.
  2. Enter the public page URL.
  3. Select the viewport and theme you want to capture.
  4. Import the page, then inspect the resulting Figma layers.

This route is appropriate when the page can be accessed without a login or a browser-specific state. The plugin documentation describes URL import and viewport and theme choices. See html.to.design’s documentation.

Private, logged-in, or state-specific page: capture it in the browser

For a page behind a login, on a private network, or dependent on a particular browser state, open it in a supported browser and use the html.to.design extension to capture the page currently visible. You can send the capture to the plugin or save it as an .h2d file and import that file. The extension’s listed compatible browsers include Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Arc, and other Chromium-based browsers; check its current installation listing because browser availability can change. The browser capture documentation explains the transfer options.

If the URL importer encounters a CAPTCHA, the extension documentation says it cannot solve the challenge automatically. Complete the challenge in the browser, then capture the page there. See the extension guidance.

Local markup: use HTML/CSS or supported files

The feature documentation describes entering HTML/CSS or uploading local .html, .htm, or .zip files. Those are markup inputs; the documentation does not establish that a React repository, built app project, or Webflow project file can be imported as such. Check the current feature documentation before choosing this route.

What to inspect after import

There is no published React-versus-Webflow compatibility matrix or quality guarantee in the reviewed product documentation, so test the page that matters rather than assuming the framework determines the result. Review the imported layers against the browser page at each viewport you need.

  • Layout: check spacing, alignment, and whether key sections appear in the expected order.
  • Images and other assets: verify that the visuals you need are present and displayed correctly.
  • Fonts and text: check typography, line wrapping, and content fit.
  • Responsive views: import and inspect the actual viewport sizes relevant to your work. Multi-viewport support is listed, but that does not establish perfect responsive reproduction.
  • Interactions and state: confirm whether the captured page reflects the menu, modal, logged-in view, or other state you intended. A page capture should not be treated as a working reconstruction of the site’s behavior.

Common problems and practical fixes

The page is private or requires a login

Use the browser extension after signing in and navigating to the right page state. The URL importer is intended for public pages; browser capture is the documented route for private or session-specific pages. See the capture workflow.

A CAPTCHA blocks URL import

The extension documentation says URL import does not solve CAPTCHAs automatically. Complete the challenge in the browser and capture the visible page with the extension. See the CAPTCHA guidance.

The result is visually incomplete or differs at another screen size

Try the target viewport and theme explicitly, capture the relevant browser state, and compare the output at each intended viewport. The available documentation lists these options but does not guarantee exact reproduction of every responsive layout, asset, font, or interactive state.

You want to import a React or Webflow project rather than a page

The documented routes concern rendered pages, HTML/CSS, and supported HTML/HTM/ZIP files. They do not establish native project-file or source-repository import for React or Webflow. If your goal is editable design layers, capture the rendered page; if your goal is a reusable source project, this workflow is not documented as providing that.

If you only need a screenshot file rather than editable Figma layers, ScreenshotNeo can return a webpage screenshot through one API request. It is a screenshot API and MCP server, not a replacement for html.to.design’s webpage-to-Figma conversion. Cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets are removed before the shot; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card, and paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Learn about ScreenshotNeo.
