Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →No—not as YouTube Shorts, based on Gyre’s documented 24/7 workflow. Gyre describes sending prerecorded video to YouTube as a regular RTMP live broadcast, which YouTube treats as a live stream. Short clips can be used as source material, but that does not make the continuous broadcast a YouTube Short.
What Gyre’s 24/7 stream actually publishes
Gyre describes a workflow in which you upload video files, arrange them into a looping playlist, and start a continuous broadcast to YouTube over standard RTMP. Its description says YouTube treats the resulting signal as a regular live stream and places it in the Live tab. Gyre’s product overview
That means the output is a YouTube Live broadcast assembled from prerecorded footage—not a sequence of Shorts uploaded in YouTube’s Shorts format.
Short source video versus a YouTube Short
These terms refer to different things:
- A YouTube Short is a platform format for vertical video uploaded as a Short. Gyre describes Shorts separately from its continuous live-stream feature. Gyre’s overview of Shorts and live streaming
- A short video file is simply a brief piece of source footage. Gyre says short and long videos can both be used in a 24/7 stream. The file’s duration does not, by itself, establish that YouTube will classify the live broadcast as a Short.
- A 24/7 stream is the continuing live broadcast viewers watch through YouTube Live, even when its underlying footage was prerecorded.
Does vertical video change the answer?
Not according to the documented workflow: Gyre describes its output as a regular live broadcast, and the available description does not say that vertical orientation turns it into a YouTube Short. The reviewed material also does not specify whether Gyre accepts every 9:16 input unchanged, converts it, or how YouTube may surface a vertical live feed. Avoid treating a vertical source file as proof that the resulting broadcast is a Short.

How to use short clips in a Gyre stream
- Upload the prerecorded files you want to use. Gyre says both short- and long-duration videos can be source material.
- Arrange the files into a playlist for continuous playback.
- Start the broadcast to YouTube. Gyre documents this as an RTMP live stream; expect it to be a live broadcast rather than a Shorts upload.
