Feed the Deep is currently listed as a single-player game on Nintendo Switch. Nintendo’s official product metadata says “No. of players — Single system (1),” and it does not list local wireless, couch co-op, or online multiplayer. The Nintendo Switch Online feature shown for the game is “Save Data Cloud,” which describes cloud-save backup rather than multiplayer access.
The Switch edition is currently scheduled for digital release on February 11, 2027. Because that date is still in the future, the developer could change the feature set before launch. The answer below reflects the current official listing, not a guarantee that the pre-release metadata can never change.

Feed the Deep multiplayer: the current answer
| Feature | Current Nintendo Switch listing | What that means |
|---|---|---|
| Players on one Switch | Single system (1) | One player is listed for a single console. |
| Local multiplayer or couch co-op | Not listed | There is no official indication that two people can play together on the same Switch. |
| Local wireless | Not listed | Separate Switch consoles are not advertised as a multiplayer mode. |
| Online multiplayer | Not listed | No online co-op or competitive mode is currently announced. |
| Nintendo Switch Online | “Save Data Cloud” | The listed service is for backing up saves, not for playing with friends. |
| Supported Switch modes | TV, tabletop and handheld | You can play alone in any of those hardware modes. |
So, if you are asking whether two people can play Feed the Deep on one Switch, the current answer is no. If you are asking whether you can join a friend online, the current answer is also no. Those answers are based on what Nintendo has published for the Switch edition; they are not based on an assumption that every roguelike is single-player.

What Nintendo’s player-count label tells you
“Single system (1)” means one player on one console
Nintendo’s product metadata uses the exact wording “No. of players — Single system (1).” On Switch listings, that field is the clearest indicator of how many people can use one console for a game’s supported play session. A value of one does not describe a two-player pass-and-play mode, split-screen mode, shared-screen mode, or a second-controller option. It identifies the game as a one-player experience on a single system.

- [Deep Bass with Clear Vocals] High-performance drivers produce punchy bass while keeping vocals clean and detailed for everyday listening.
That is why connecting two Joy-Con controllers, a Pro Controller, or other compatible input devices would not be expected to create co-op. Controllers provide input; they do not add a multiplayer mode that the software does not advertise.
No local wireless mode is listed
Some Switch games let multiple consoles connect over local wireless, even when players are in the same room. Feed the Deep’s current listing does not include that feature. Therefore, owning two Switch systems would not currently give you an official way to play this title together locally.
Is Feed the Deep online multiplayer?
There is no online-multiplayer entry in the current Nintendo listing. That means the published Switch information does not promise online co-op, online matchmaking, shared expeditions, or an online competitive mode. A Nintendo Switch Online membership cannot turn an unlisted mode into a supported one.

The Switch-specific player field remains the relevant authority for the console edition.

Do you need Nintendo Switch Online?
Nintendo lists “Nintendo Switch Online — Save Data Cloud” for Feed the Deep. Save Data Cloud is a backup feature: with an eligible membership and a compatible game, your save can be stored with Nintendo’s cloud service so it can be recovered if you move to another console or lose local data. It is separate from online multiplayer.
Because no multiplayer mode is listed, there is currently no reason to buy Nintendo Switch Online merely to play Feed the Deep with friends. The listing does not show a membership requirement for the game’s solo play. A membership would be relevant only if you want to use the listed cloud-save function and your account, console and game setup meet Nintendo’s requirements.
- For solo play: the listing does not identify Nintendo Switch Online as a requirement.
- For multiplayer: there is no announced mode for a membership to unlock.
- For cloud backup: Nintendo lists Save Data Cloud as the supported Switch Online feature.
Why the game is presented as a solo experience
The official game description frames Feed the Deep as a Lovecraftian undersea roguelike built around solo exploration. You dive through procedurally generated underwater caves, collect resources, purchase upgrades, manage a limited oxygen supply and avoid hostile lifeforms. Those systems are described as one player’s expedition rather than a shared team activity.
Procedural caves and oxygen management also explain why a single-player label matters. Each dive asks you to balance exploration against the risk of staying underwater too long. Resource collection and upgrades shape later attempts, while hostile wildlife creates pressure during a run. Nothing in the published description adds a second diver, shared oxygen pool, team revive system or coordinated objective.

- [Dont Hesite to Order] 24 hours customer services and professional technology team are standing by
This does not prove that a future update could never add co-op. It does explain why the current listing and the game’s official description point in the same direction: Feed the Deep is presently sold as a solo exploration-and-survival game.
What you can expect on Nintendo Switch
| Switch detail | Current published information |
|---|---|
| Release date | February 11, 2027, for the digital Switch edition |
| Format | Digital edition |
| Estimated download size | 182 MB |
| Play modes | TV, tabletop and handheld |
| Listed player count | Single system (1) |
The 182 MB figure is Nintendo’s estimated file size for the listed digital edition, not a guarantee of the final download after patches. Likewise, TV, tabletop and handheld support describes how one person can use the Switch hardware; it does not imply that tabletop mode supports two players.
The February 11, 2027 date is in the future relative to the current listing. Pre-release store data can be revised, so check the live Nintendo page again near launch if multiplayer would determine your purchase. Look specifically for changes to the player-count field, local-play entries, online-play entries or the Nintendo Switch Online section.

“Can I use two Joy-Con controllers?”
There is no published two-player mode for those controllers to access. A second controller cannot add a feature that the game itself does not support.
“Can I play online with a friend?”
Online multiplayer is not listed for the Switch edition. The current information therefore does not support online co-op, online matchmaking or shared multiplayer runs.
“Will Nintendo Switch Online make multiplayer work?”
No. Nintendo Switch Online is shown for Save Data Cloud, not for multiplayer. A subscription can provide the listed cloud-backup function, but it does not create an online mode.
“Can two Switch consoles connect locally?”
Local wireless is not listed. The current product information gives no supported way to link separate consoles for a multiplayer session.

How to check for a feature change before buying
Since the Switch release is still scheduled for a future date, use the live listing as your final check. The following process avoids confusing cloud saves with multiplayer:
- Open the official Nintendo eShop listing for Feed the Deep on or after the release date.
- Find the product’s player-information area and read the single-system count. A value of “1” still means one player on one console.
- Look for separate entries mentioning local wireless, local play, online play or multiplayer. Do not treat a Nintendo Switch Online cloud-save entry as evidence of online gameplay.
- Check the game’s current version notes or official announcements for any post-launch multiplayer addition. A patch would need to announce the mode; it would not be inferred from controller compatibility.
- If you are buying for two people, confirm the player count again after downloading any day-one update, because pre-release store metadata can change.
If the listing still says “Single system (1)” and shows only “Save Data Cloud” under Nintendo Switch Online, Feed the Deep remains a solo purchase on Switch.
Should you buy extra controllers or a membership for multiplayer?
Not for this title based on the current information. Extra controllers are useful for games that advertise multiple players, but they do not enable Feed the Deep’s unlisted modes. A Nintendo Switch Online membership is likewise not a multiplayer enabler here; its listed purpose is cloud-save backup.
The game is identified as a digital Switch edition, with an estimated 182 MB size. No cited product information identifies a physical cartridge, guide or accessory that changes its player support. If your purchase decision depends on co-op, wait for an explicit update to the Nintendo listing rather than buying hardware in anticipation of one.
Bottom line for Switch buyers
Feed the Deep is currently a one-player Nintendo Switch game. Nintendo lists one player on a single system, does not list local or online multiplayer, and identifies Nintendo Switch Online only for Save Data Cloud. You can play the solo undersea roguelike in TV, tabletop or handheld mode, but two-player support is not currently announced. Because the digital edition is scheduled for February 11, 2027, verify the official listing again near launch in case the developer changes the feature set.
