Cross-progression determines whether the same player can retain account data when changing platforms. You can therefore play with friends on another system without assuming that a platform purchase or every local setting will transfer.

How crossplay works in ARC Raiders
The official ARC Raiders site describes “seamless social play across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.” In practical terms, a PS5 player can join friends using Xbox Series X|S or a PC storefront, provided each person is using an account that can connect to the game’s online services.

PC availability is listed through Steam and the Epic Games Store. PlayStation coverage is for PlayStation 5, while Xbox coverage is for Xbox Series X|S. GeForce NOW is also listed as an available platform, but it is a cloud-streaming way to access a supported game session rather than a separate console family.
What crossplay does not automatically promise
- It does not establish that one purchase grants a license on every storefront.
- It does not mean every platform-specific setting or local save file is shared.
- It does not prove that every available storefront has identical cross-progression behavior; Embark’s explicit cross-progression list names Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The safest interpretation is that crossplay concerns playing together, while your Embark ID controls the account relationship behind progression and social data.
How cross-progression works through an Embark ID
Embark requires an Embark ID to play ARC Raiders. The account is the identity layer that connects your game activity across platforms. Embark says it keeps your progress, purchases, in-game cosmetics and friends tied to the account, and enables cross-progression between Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
To make that work, link each platform account you use to the same Embark ID. Do not create separate Embark IDs for different devices if you want one continuous profile. A second account can split your progression, purchases and friend relationships even when you are using the same console or PC.

One account per platform
Embark’s account guidance allows one account per platform on an Embark ID: one Steam account, one PlayStation account, one Xbox account and one Epic Games account. This matters if a household has multiple profiles or if you have used more than one PC storefront. The link is an account relationship, not merely a device setting.

“Purchases” in Embark’s description refers to items tied to your Embark ID, such as in-game purchases and cosmetics. The available official wording does not say that buying the game on one storefront automatically grants ownership on another. Check the platform store’s own license terms before assuming you can install the game elsewhere without another purchase.
Set up crossplay and cross-progression correctly
- Create or sign in to an Embark ID. Use the account prompt associated with ARC Raiders. Embark states that an Embark ID is required to play.
- Choose one primary account. Decide which Embark ID should hold your ARC Raiders progress, purchases, cosmetics and friends before linking multiple platforms.
- Link the platform accounts you actually use. Connect your Steam, PlayStation, Xbox or Epic account through the available Embark account-linking flow. Keep to the one-account-per-platform limit.
- Check the account identity before launching. Confirm that the same Embark ID is shown on each platform. Signing in with a different email or creating a second Embark ID can produce a separate profile.
- Launch ARC Raiders on each linked platform. Allow the game to finish its account connection and synchronization process before switching devices or inviting friends.
- Test with a low-risk change. Verify that your name, friends or another visible account element appears consistently. Do not buy additional content as a test.
- Invite friends through the game’s social features. Cross-platform play depends on the connected Embark identity, so add or invite friends using the account that is linked to your active platform.
The exact menu wording can change with updates, but the principle does not: use one Embark ID as the hub and attach the platform accounts you intend to use.

Yes, the published Embark guidance explicitly supports cross-progression between Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. To move between them, link the Steam, PlayStation or Xbox account to the same Embark ID rather than starting a new Embark profile on the destination platform.

Your account-linked progress, purchases, in-game cosmetics and friends are the data Embark says the ID keeps together. The transfer is therefore account-based, not a manual save-file copy. You do not need to export a local PC save or copy a console file to another device.
Example: Steam to Xbox
Sign in to the Embark ID already used on Steam, link the Xbox account permitted for that ID, then start ARC Raiders on Xbox while signed into that same identity. If the Xbox session opens a fresh profile, stop before making purchases and check whether the console account was attached to a different Embark ID.
Example: PS5 to PC
Link the PlayStation account and the intended PC storefront account to one Embark ID. Because Steam is explicitly included in the cross-progression guidance, a Steam launch should use the same account data. Epic Games Store is listed as available and can be linked, but the published cross-progression sentence does not provide the same explicit storefront-to-storefront confirmation for Epic.

Epic Games Store and GeForce NOW: the careful reading
ARC Raiders lists Epic Games Store as a PC option, and Embark’s account guidance allows one Epic account to be linked to an Embark ID. That establishes account-linking support, but it is narrower than an explicit statement that every Steam-to-Epic or Epic-to-console progression transfer is covered. If your main progression is on Epic, verify the account shown in the Embark connection flow before you spend money or abandon another profile.

GeForce NOW appears in the official platform list. Because it streams a supported game session, the relevant identity is still the connected game and storefront account. The available guidance does not identify GeForce NOW as an independent progression silo or specify a separate transfer rule, so treat it as an access method and keep the underlying Embark and platform accounts consistent.
Account safety: do not unlink everything casually
Embark’s account-management guidance contains a serious warning: if all third-party game accounts are unlinked, the Embark ID is permanently deleted. The player then loses ARC Raiders and THE FINALS progress, along with purchased and earned cosmetics associated with that identity.
Before unlinking anything, check which Steam, PlayStation, Xbox or Epic account is attached and make sure at least the account you need remains connected. Unlinking one account is not the same as removing every account, but changing links can still leave you signed into the wrong profile. If you are troubleshooting, capture the account details first and avoid repeated unlinking and relinking until you know which Embark ID contains your progress.
Troubleshooting crossplay and cross-progression
A friend cannot be found
- Confirm that both players are using ARC Raiders accounts connected to Embark IDs.
- Check that each person is on a supported platform: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S or PC.
- Verify that you are searching for the friend through the game’s connected social identity rather than an unrelated platform profile.
- Have both players restart the game after correcting an account link so the session can refresh.
Your progress looks new on another platform
- Stop before buying items or creating additional characters.
- Compare the Embark ID used on the original platform with the ID currently connected on the new platform.
- Check that the destination platform account is linked to the original ID and that you have not exceeded the one-account-per-platform rule.
- If every third-party account was unlinked, do not assume the old Embark ID can be recovered; Embark warns that this action permanently deletes it and its associated progress and cosmetics.
A purchase is missing
First confirm that you are signed into the same Embark ID that made or received the purchase. Account-linked purchases and cosmetics are described as part of the Embark ID system, but storefront ownership is a separate question. A game license bought on one store should not be presumed to unlock another store without that store’s own entitlement.

Choosing where to play
Choose the platform that fits your hardware and storefront access, then use the Embark ID to keep your supported account data together. Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are the listed native choices; GeForce NOW is the listed cloud option. If you regularly switch between PC and console, Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S have the clearest explicit cross-progression coverage in Embark’s published wording.
For a group of friends, the key decision is less about matching hardware than making sure every player can sign in, link the intended account and appear through the game’s social system. A PS5 owner does not need to move to Xbox just because another friend uses Xbox, and a PC player can join the same crossplay environment.
Bottom line
ARC Raiders has crossplay across PlayStation, Xbox and PC, and its Embark ID system provides cross-progression for the account data that matters most. Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are explicitly covered for cross-progression. Link the correct accounts before playing, keep within the one-account-per-platform limit and never unlink every third-party account unless you accept the risk of permanent Embark ID deletion and loss of associated progress and cosmetics.
