Amazon says it tested the feature with official Kindle Colorsoft and Paperwhite cases, but warns it may not work with every third-party case. - Use Amazon’s Kindle identification guide to compare the model and generation.
- Compare that exact model with the accessory maker’s supported-device list, not just a broad label such as “Kindle” or “Paperwhite.”
Amazon notes that not every Kindle generation has been available in every marketplace, so names and availability can vary by geography. The generation matters both for accessories and for built-in features such as Double Tap.

Which option should you choose?
- You own a supported 2024 Signature Edition: Try Double Tap first; it requires no separate remote.
- You want a separate Bluetooth control: Confirm that Kindle Click is currently listed by Amazon and explicitly supports your model. The 2026 T3 report alone does not confirm an official listing or exact regional availability.
- You are considering a clip-on page turner: Read the exact accessory’s compatibility list and setup directions; older models may be excluded.
- You read on an Android phone or Fire tablet: Check the Kindle app’s volume-button option. On Fire tablets, compatible switch access is another documented route.
