Yes—some Xiaomi fitness trackers work with iPhones, but compatibility depends on the exact model. Xiaomi documents that the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 works with iPhones running iOS 12.0 or later over Bluetooth 5.1. It must be paired through Xiaomi’s Mi Fitness app; Xiaomi says this model does not pair with Zepp Life. Other Xiaomi trackers may have different requirements, so check the support page for your specific generation before buying or troubleshooting.
What “works with iPhone” means for a Xiaomi tracker
For a fitness band, iPhone compatibility has several parts: the phone must meet the wearable’s Bluetooth and iOS requirements, the correct companion app must support the model, the initial pairing must complete, and the app must be allowed to run and exchange data. Apple Health synchronization is a separate permission step rather than an automatic consequence of Bluetooth pairing.

The clearest current example is the Xiaomi Smart Band 9. Xiaomi support states: “The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 supports devices with Bluetooth 5.1 and Android 8.0 or iOS 12.0 and above.” That statement applies to the Smart Band 9, not automatically to every Xiaomi band or watch. Support pages and app menus can change as Xiaomi and Apple update their software; Xiaomi’s relevant support guidance was checked on October 13, 2026.

Which iPhone app should you use?
Mi Fitness is the required app for Smart Band 9
Download and open Mi Fitness on the iPhone, then sign in with a Xiaomi account. The app requests permissions needed for discovery, notifications, health information, or other functions. Grant the permissions that match the features you intend to use; denying a permission can prevent a related feature from working even when the Bluetooth connection is healthy.
Do not switch to Zepp Life for this model
Xiaomi explicitly says the Smart Band 9 supports pairing and use only with Mi Fitness, not Zepp Life. A band that appears in a Bluetooth scan is not thereby compatible with every Xiaomi-related app. The companion-app requirement is model-specific, so selecting the wrong app can make a correctly functioning band look defective.
How to pair a Xiaomi Smart Band 9 with an iPhone
Keep the band charged and near the iPhone. Pairing should start in Mi Fitness rather than in the iPhone’s Bluetooth settings.

- Install and open Mi Fitness on the iPhone.
- Sign in to your Xiaomi account, or create one if the app requires it.
- Allow the requested iOS permissions. You can review or change them later in iPhone Settings and in the Health app.
- In Mi Fitness, tap the plus sign, then choose Add device.
- Use one of the available discovery methods: select the matching band when it appears, choose Add model and select Xiaomi Smart Band 9, or scan the QR code shown for the band.
- When a pairing request appears, confirm the check mark on the band.
- Tap Pair on the iPhone and wait for Mi Fitness to finish setup and synchronize.
Menu wording can vary slightly with the Mi Fitness release and iOS version, but the important sequence is unchanged: add the device in Mi Fitness, confirm on the band, and complete the request on the iPhone. Avoid creating a separate Bluetooth pairing first unless Xiaomi’s instructions for your model specifically tell you to do so.
How to sync Xiaomi data with Apple Health
Bluetooth pairing only establishes communication. To place selected activity or health data in Apple Health, enable the integration in Mi Fitness and approve the same categories in Apple’s Health permissions.
Enable Health access in Mi Fitness
- Open Mi Fitness and go to Profile.
- Open Third-party data, then choose Health.
- Turn on cloud synchronization where the app presents that option.
- Select the data categories you want Mi Fitness to write to Apple Health.
Check the iPhone Health permissions
- Open the iPhone Health app.
- Go to Apps and select Mi Fitness.
- Review the permissions and enable each data type you want to receive.
The exact labels can differ by iOS release or Mi Fitness version. A category must be allowed in both places: selecting it only in Mi Fitness is not enough if Apple Health blocks it. After changing access, leave the phone and band connected and allow time for the transfer; data may not appear immediately.

What to do when Apple Health remains empty
First compare the enabled categories in Mi Fitness with those shown under Health’s Mi Fitness permissions. Confirm that the band itself has recorded new data and that Mi Fitness has recently synchronized. If the permissions match and no new entries appear after waiting, Xiaomi’s Smart Band 9 Active guidance recommends submitting a log through Mi Fitness so support can inspect the synchronization problem.
Troubleshooting pairing failures
The band does not appear in Mi Fitness
- Confirm Bluetooth is enabled on the iPhone and keep the band close to it.
- Check that the phone meets the model’s stated iOS requirement. For Smart Band 9, Xiaomi lists iOS 12.0 or later and Bluetooth 5.1.
- Make sure you are using Mi Fitness and the correct model selection, not Zepp Life.
- If the band is already listed in the iPhone’s Bluetooth settings, remove that existing entry, return to Mi Fitness, and start Add device again.
A previous pairing blocks rebinding
After unpairing, open iPhone Settings → Bluetooth, find the old band entry, tap the information button, and choose Forget This Device. Then initiate a new pairing from Mi Fitness. Leaving the old Bluetooth record in place can cause the app and iOS to disagree about the band’s current state.
The phone sees the band, but Mi Fitness cannot complete setup
Seeing a name in the system Bluetooth list does not mean the companion-app handshake has completed. Remove the stale listing, keep the band unlocked and nearby, and repeat the in-app pairing flow. Confirm the on-band check mark and the iPhone’s Pair action rather than dismissing either prompt.

Troubleshooting synchronization that stops later
Mi Fitness was removed from the iOS background
iOS can suspend or remove apps from the background to manage battery and memory. Xiaomi’s Smart Band 10 troubleshooting guidance says reopening Mi Fitness can reconnect the band and resume synchronization after iOS removes the app from the background. This is model-specific advice for Smart Band 10; it should not be treated as a universal explanation for every Xiaomi tracker.
Notifications or health updates are intermittent
- Open Mi Fitness and check whether the band shows as connected.
- Review iPhone permissions for Bluetooth, notifications, and Health, enabling only the functions you want to use.
- Open Mi Fitness after a period when it has not been used, especially if iOS has closed it.
- Check whether the missing information is a data category you never authorized in both Mi Fitness and Apple Health.
If reconnection and permission checks do not restore transfers, use Mi Fitness’s in-app log submission option for Xiaomi support. Keep the model name, iOS version, Mi Fitness version, and the approximate time the failure began available when describing the issue.
Buying and compatibility checklist
Before purchasing a Xiaomi tracker for an iPhone, verify these items on the support page for the exact model and regional edition:
Best Value
- The minimum iOS version and Bluetooth requirement.
- The companion app named by Xiaomi.
- Whether Apple Health export is available and which categories it supports.
- Whether the band is new, reset, or still linked to another account or phone.
- Whether your iPhone can install the current Mi Fitness release.
For the documented Smart Band 9, the practical checklist is iOS 12.0 or later, Bluetooth 5.1, a Xiaomi account, Mi Fitness, and permission approval in both Mi Fitness and Apple Health. Those facts establish compatibility for that model; they do not guarantee identical behavior from another Xiaomi generation.
Why compatibility claims need a model number
“Xiaomi fitness tracker” covers multiple generations that may use different apps, firmware, Bluetooth features, and integration rules. An iPhone can be technically capable while a particular band is unsupported, or the band can pair while one Apple Health category is unavailable. State the exact model whenever you troubleshoot, update an app, or contact support. That single detail determines which Xiaomi instructions apply.
Likewise, a successful first pairing does not prove that background synchronization, notifications, or every Health category is enabled. Treat pairing, permissions, and ongoing background behavior as separate checks. This approach avoids replacing a working band simply because one permission or stale Bluetooth record is wrong.

When to contact Xiaomi support
Contact Xiaomi through Mi Fitness after you have removed stale Bluetooth entries, repeated pairing in Mi Fitness, and verified the relevant permissions. Include the exact tracker model, iPhone model, iOS release, Mi Fitness release, whether pairing ever succeeded, and which data category or function is missing. For Apple Health issues, note whether Mi Fitness lists recent measurements even when Health does not; that distinction helps identify whether the failure is on the band-to-app connection or the app-to-Health transfer.
