Which PS4 Mafia games get a free PS5 upgrade?
The answer depends on the exact game and how you got it. 2K’s current upgrade offer is specifically for Mafia: Definitive Edition. The other games have different purchase histories and should not be treated as part of the same upgrade deal.

How to claim the Mafia: Definitive Edition PS5 upgrade
If you own the digital PS4 game
- Sign in to the PlayStation account that owns the qualifying purchased copy.
- Find the PS5 version of Mafia: Definitive Edition in the PlayStation Store and add it to your library.
If you own the PS4 disc
- Use a PS5 console with a disc drive and insert the PS4 game disc.
- Open the game’s hub and select the upgrade offer.
- Keep the disc inserted whenever you play the PS5 digital edition. The disc must be from a region eligible for your PlayStation; a disc from another region will not show the offer.
If you claimed it through PS+
A PS+ monthly-game claim does not qualify for the free upgrade. 2K states: “For players that claimed the game on PS4 through PS+ as one of your monthly games, the PS5 upgrade is not available.” 2K Support

2K’s support article says the newer-generation edition is already included in the library for the described purchases. If the entitlement does not appear, check the account and applicable PlayStation Store listing. 2K Support

Does owning Mafia: Trilogy upgrade all three games?
No. A collection can include several games without giving every game a native PS5 edition or the same upgrade entitlement. The current PlayStation collection listing identifies a PS5 version for Mafia: Definitive Edition; its Mafia II and Mafia III entries are not labeled as PS5 editions. - Mafia: Definitive Edition is a remake of the original 2002 game and is the title covered by the current free PS5 upgrade.
- Mafia II: Definitive Edition has a separate PlayStation listing and purchase rule; the Steam PC owner grant does not transfer to PlayStation.
- Mafia III: Definitive Edition was given to existing PS4 owners at its 2020 launch. That history is distinct from a native PS5 upgrade.
When checking your entitlement, compare the exact game, the platform of your original copy, whether you purchased it or claimed it through a subscription, and—if you own a disc—the console’s disc drive and the disc’s region.
