Sometimes—but not automatically. A Call of Duty pre-order bonus will usually follow you to another platform only when the game and offer support cross-progression and both platform accounts are linked to the same Activision account. A bonus can still be restricted to the platform used for the pre-order, require a code or another Call of Duty game for redemption, or be limited by a subscription and deadline. Moving a platform account to a different Activision account does not move its progress or owned content.
The rule that decides most transfers
For supported cross-progression games, Activision stores progression on your Activision account rather than on one console or PC. When you sign in with that same Activision account on another linked platform, your supported progression is available there. Activision states this in its account guidance: “Because game progression in crossplay-enabled games is stored on your Activision account, you can play on any platform you have linked to your account, and your progression carries over.” Read the current account rules at Managing Your Activision Account.

That is a rule about supported progression and certain account-linked content, not a blanket promise that every pre-order entitlement transfers. Each offer can add its own platform, game, code, subscription, region or expiry requirements.
Same Activision account versus a different Activision account
| Situation | What normally happens | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Same Activision account, different linked platform | Supported progression and eligible content can appear on the second platform. | The Activision account is the shared identity for cross-progression. |
| Platform account linked to a different Activision account | Progress and owned content do not transfer to the new Activision account. | Activision does not merge progression between separate Activision accounts. |
| Platform-specific pre-order offer | The reward may remain limited to the platform named in the offer. | The promotion’s terms override the general cross-progression expectation. |
| Code-based reward | You must redeem the code through the stated process before the content can appear. | Possession of the game or account alone does not redeem an unused code. |
| Reward requiring another game | The item may be unavailable until you launch or redeem it in the specified eligible game. | Some rewards are entitlements for an older or companion title, not the pre-ordered game itself. |
If you linked your platform to the wrong Activision account, Activision says that relinking the platform to the original account can restore the original progression and owned content. It does not say that progress can be moved into, or merged with, a different Activision account.

Why the exact bonus matters
“Pre-order bonus” can describe an operator pack, weapon blueprint, cosmetic bundle, challenge pack, early-access benefit or currency. Those products can have different entitlement rules even within one edition. Before changing account links or asking support for a transfer, identify all five of these details:
- the exact Call of Duty title and edition you ordered;
- the precise reward name;
- the platform and store where the pre-order was placed;
- the destination platform and the Activision account linked to it; and
- the game in which the reward is supposed to be usable.
Then read the official bonus or editions page for that title. Look specifically for wording such as “on the platform where you pre-ordered,” a named eligible game, a redemption code, a subscription condition or an expiry date.
Official examples that show the differences
Black Ops 7: Reznov Challenge Pack
Activision’s Black Ops 7 Bonus Content and Code Support page lists the Reznov Challenge Pack as a pre-order reward and requires Black Ops 6 or Warzone on the platform used for the pre-order to redeem it. The Black Ops 7 Editions page explains that the pack is for Black Ops 6 and Warzone and is not usable in Black Ops 7. The support result lists November 14, 2026, as a redemption deadline; because offer terms can change, verify the live page before relying on that date.

This is a clear example of why a same-account login is not enough. You might use the same Activision account on several platforms, yet still need the pre-order platform and an eligible game to claim the reward.
Black Ops 6: Woods and Reflect 115 content
The Black Ops 6 Editions information describes Woods and Reflect 115 pre-order content for use in named Call of Duty games. It also describes a condition for Game Pass subscribers: they must log in on the platform where they are an eligible subscriber by the stated date and maintain that subscription. The entitlement therefore depends on more than simply owning the game on another device.
Modern Warfare II: Steam and PlayStation examples
The historical Modern Warfare II Editions FAQ says specified bundles for Steam pre-orders could be available in Warzone and Vanguard on all platform accounts linked to the same Activision account, even though those games were not available on Steam. That is an example of a promotion deliberately designed for linked-account access, with additional requirements for the relevant games.

By contrast, the Modern Warfare II Bonus Content and Code Support page lists the Oni Operator Pack as included with a digital edition pre-ordered through the PlayStation Store. That wording is an example of an explicitly platform-specific offer. These are historical promotion pages, so they demonstrate how terms differ rather than promising that the same rewards remain available today.
Vanguard: a title-specific generation change
The Vanguard Editions FAQ said that some profile information, progression, statistics and digital content would move to a next-generation console when players continued using the same Activision account. Treat this as a title-specific historical policy, not a universal guarantee for every current Call of Duty release.
How to check whether your bonus should transfer
- Write down the entitlement. Use the exact reward name from your receipt, order history or the game’s editions page. “Deluxe bonuses” is not precise enough if an edition contains several separate items.
- Open the title’s official support page. Start with the game’s bonus-content and editions pages. Confirm whether the reward is cross-platform, tied to the pre-order platform, restricted to a named game, delivered automatically or redeemed with a code.
- Verify the Activision account on both platforms. Sign in to the Activision account-management area and check the linked platform accounts. The two platforms must be linked to the same Activision account for account-based cross-progression.
- Check the store entitlement. On the platform where you ordered, confirm that the transaction completed and that the edition or add-on is installed or available in your library. A failed payment, cancelled order or missing code cannot be fixed by changing accounts.
- Meet the redemption conditions. Launch the required game on the required platform, enter any code exactly as instructed, and satisfy any subscription requirement. For a reward intended for Warzone or an earlier title, look there rather than only in the newest Call of Duty release.
- Check dates and regional terms. Some offers expire, require a login by a stated date or vary by country and store. Use the current support page for your region instead of relying on an old screenshot or forum post.
- Test without unlinking first. If the bonus is missing, do not immediately attach the platform to another Activision account. Unlinking can create a second problem and will not merge the original progression into the new account.
What happens when you change the Activision account
A platform account can be associated with an Activision account, but that association is not a transfer mechanism between player profiles. Activision’s account guidance says that linking a platform account to a different Activision account does not carry progression over. Returning the platform to its original Activision account can restore access to the progression and owned content that belonged there.

The same guidance describes one linked account per provider and says an individual platform account may be unlinked once every 12 months. That restriction makes account experiments risky: you may not be able to reverse a mistaken change immediately. If you are changing consoles, keep the original Activision account and link the new platform to it whenever the game’s support page permits.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Do COD Points and purchases follow the same rule?
No. Currency and purchases can have platform-specific limits that do not map neatly onto cosmetic or pre-order entitlements. Activision’s cross-progression guidance distinguishes account-linked progression and some purchased content from COD Points or real-money purchases that remain tied to the platform. See the general explanations for Modern Warfare crossplay and cross-progression and Modern Warfare II crossplay and cross-progression. The COD Points in Black Ops 7 guidance is the relevant reference for that title.

Do not infer that a platform-tied balance rule applies to a particular operator pack, challenge pack or other pre-order reward. Check that reward’s own terms.
Troubleshooting a missing pre-order reward
If the reward is missing on the second platform
- Confirm both platform accounts show under the same Activision account.
- Install or launch the game named in the reward terms, not only the game you pre-ordered.
- Check whether the item is a code that still needs redemption.
- Confirm the pre-order platform, edition, subscription and deadline requirements.
- Restart the game after the entitlement has been redeemed and allow account services time to update.
If you already linked the platform to another Activision account
Stop switching accounts and identify the original Activision account used when the content was earned. Follow Activision’s account-management instructions to restore the original link where permitted. Do not expect support to merge two separate progression histories; the documented remedy is returning to the original account.
If every published requirement is satisfied
Contact the relevant Activision support path with the title, reward name, order platform, destination platform, Activision account identifiers, receipt or code information and screenshots of the linked accounts. State exactly which requirement you met and where the reward is missing. Support can investigate an entitlement record, but no general policy guarantees restoration for an unspecified offer.
The practical verdict
Changing platforms is usually the safer scenario: keep the same Activision account, link the new platform to it and verify the reward’s own conditions. Changing Activision accounts is different and normally leaves the original progression and owned content behind. Because pre-order promotions are title- and reward-specific, the only reliable answer for an individual bonus comes from matching its exact terms to the pre-order platform, destination game, account linkage, redemption method and dates on the current official support page.
