That wired connection does not require Bluetooth pairing or a Bluetooth transmitter.
How to connect them to in-flight entertainment
- Find the headphone output at your seat. Many systems use a 3.5 mm jack, but airplane and seat configurations vary.
- Plug the cable’s 3.5 mm end into the seat’s headphone output.
- Connect its USB-C end to the headphones.
- Select the program’s audio at the seat and adjust the source and headphone volume as needed.

Do not assume every aircraft has the same jack. If your seat has a standard 3.5 mm headphone output, the included cable is the straightforward wired route. If the connector differs or the seat’s audio is not available through that output, the cable cannot make that seat’s system compatible by itself.

Bose’s advice about single- and dual-jack airplane setups is written for the older QuietComfort 35, not this second-generation model. Treat it as general legacy context rather than a definitive adapter guide for the QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen). Bose also notes that an airplane adapter may not fit every in-flight system. What is included, and what is not established
Bose’s product page lists the USB-C to 3.5 mm cable in the box contents and FAQ, although its technical-specification area inconsistently says “Audio cable included | No.” The more specific box list and FAQ support using the included cable; if it is missing or damaged, you will need a suitable replacement.

Bose advertises up to 24 hours of battery life, or 18 hours with Immersive Audio, on the current product page. Those are manufacturer figures, not independent test results, and they do not establish whether wired playback works with a fully depleted battery. Do not count on dead-battery operation without model-specific confirmation.
