Yes—but “RTMP support” can mean two different things. Some services accept an incoming RTMP feed from an encoder such as OBS and forward it to YouTube. Others take uploaded video files, loop them in the cloud, and send an RTMP stream out to YouTube. A service that supports RTMP output does not necessarily accept RTMP input.
What “RTMP input” means
RTMP is a protocol used to transmit live video. In this context, the key question is which direction the video travels:
- Incoming RTMP contribution: OBS or another encoder sends a live feed to the service, which relays it to YouTube.
- RTMP output to YouTube: You upload prerecorded video to a cloud service; it loops the file and sends a live broadcast to YouTube. YouTube receives the RTMP stream, but the service may not receive an RTMP feed from you.
Ask the provider specifically whether it accepts an external RTMP or RTMPS encoder feed as its input. “Streams to YouTube over RTMP” is not an answer to that question.
Which services document which workflow?
| Service | Documented workflow | What that establishes |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Upload prerecorded video, add YouTube’s RTMP address and persistent stream key, then run a cloud loop. | It sends the uploaded-video loop to YouTube; its described workflow does not establish that it accepts an external RTMP contribution feed. See StreamNeo. |
| Restream | Its help documentation describes an “Encoder | RTMP” mode for streaming software and lists OBS, Streamlabs, vMix, ATEM, and SlingStudio as compatible examples. | This is documented incoming encoder support. Restream says it supports RTMP and SRT for streaming. Its documentation does not guarantee unattended 24/7 operation on every plan. See Restream’s encoder instructions and YouTube setup instructions. |
| Gyre | Its vendor guide describes streaming prerecorded video from its cloud to YouTube using a standard RTMP signal. | This documents RTMP delivery to YouTube, not that Gyre accepts an external RTMP contribution feed. See Gyre’s workflow guide. |
| StreamYard | On paid plans, its documentation describes connecting an existing YouTube stream using that event’s RTMP details. Its custom RTMP destination feature sends a StreamYard broadcast to a platform. | These are studio-connected or outbound workflows, not documentation of an unattended 24/7 prerecorded-video loop. The YouTube connection does not bring YouTube comments into the studio and requires entering the studio and pressing Go Live. See the YouTube connection guide and custom RTMP destination information. |
These are provider-documented workflows, not a verified uptime or quality comparison. Check the current plan terms and exact input direction before choosing a service.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Choose based on the feed you need to send
If you already have a live encoder feed
Look for explicit incoming RTMP or RTMPS support. Confirm whether the service can forward the feed to YouTube, how many destinations it permits at once, what happens after a disconnect, and whether the plan supports unattended operation. Also check where you manage the YouTube event title, description, and other metadata.
If you want to loop uploaded videos
Check accepted file formats, storage and upload limits, scheduling and restart controls, number of simultaneous streams, output resolution and frame rate, and YouTube event setup. Do not infer incoming RTMP support from the fact that the service sends a stream to YouTube.

If you are using a hardware encoder
A physical encoder is optional: YouTube’s encoder workflow can use software, and an AJA HELO Plus manual, for example, lists RTMP as a stream type. A hardware encoder is not required by a cloud service that loops uploaded files. See the AJA HELO Plus manual.
Connect an encoder to YouTube directly
If you do not need an intermediary service, YouTube’s encoder workflow sends the feed straight from your encoder to your YouTube channel:

- Enable live streaming on YouTube. YouTube says first-time live access requires phone verification and a 24-hour wait. Confirm access before scheduling a broadcast. See YouTube’s encoder help.
- Create or open the live stream in YouTube Studio. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for that stream. YouTube says to select YouTube in your encoder when that integration is available; otherwise paste the URL into the encoder’s Server setting and the key into its Stream Key setting.
- Protect the key. Treat it like a password: someone with the key may be able to broadcast to your channel. Do not publish it or share it with an untrusted person.
- Set up your encoder and start it. Enter the server and key, confirm the correct YouTube event is selected, then start the encoder and check the stream preview and status in YouTube Studio.
Restream’s help page likewise describes a 24-hour wait after phone verification for first-time YouTube live access. Network port requirements depend on the encoder and service; Restream’s network help identifies port 1935 for software or hardware RTMP/RTMPS streaming, but confirm current firewall needs for your specific setup.
Duration and archive limits matter for 24/7 broadcasts
YouTube says it has no stream-duration limit, but only streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume a continuous 24/7 broadcast will leave a complete VOD recording. If an archive matters, plan a separate recording or divide programming into shorter broadcasts, and verify the current YouTube behavior for your account and workflow. See YouTube’s encoder help.

Common RTMP setup problems
- The encoder connects, but the wrong content appears on YouTube: Check that the correct event, server URL, and stream key are paired. A key for another event may send the feed somewhere unexpected.
- The service says RTMP is supported, but your encoder cannot connect: Ask whether RTMP support means incoming encoder input or outbound delivery to YouTube. Confirm whether it requires RTMP or RTMPS and whether the account plan allows encoder input.
- You cannot start the broadcast: Check that YouTube live access is enabled and, for a first-time setup, that the phone verification and waiting period are complete.
- The broadcast stops after a network interruption: Determine whether the encoder or relay reconnects automatically, and whether the YouTube event remains active. Protocol support alone does not establish reconnect behavior or unattended reliability.
- You expect a full archive but only part is available: YouTube’s automatic archive threshold is under 12 hours; a 24/7 stream should not be treated as one complete archived video.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a prerecorded-video loop rather than an incoming live encoder feed, StreamNeo’s workflow is: upload a video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It streams uploaded videos to YouTube; it does not take a live camera feed or document external RTMP input.
- Your computer and home internet connection do not have to stay on.
- Uploaded video streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot rather than quality-based tiers.
- StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free with no card required; one free day is available per account.
The monthly plan is $9.99 per month. UPI and cards are available in India; card checkout is available worldwide. Start your free StreamNeo day.
