Hajin is a PvPvE exclusion zone: expect North Korean AI patrols and specialist enemies, but also rival human Operators who are not counted by the local Threat indicator. Check the area’s Threat level as you enter, use the Tac-Map and other HUD signals to plan, and be ready to break contact or extract when a fight escalates.
Which enemies can you encounter in Hajin?
Call of Duty’s October 2026 official Hajin Intel Guide describes stationary and roving patrols belonging to a secretive North Korean faction. Depending on the threat an Operator poses, these enemies may ignore, search for, or attack them. The guide lists the following categories:

A separate Call of Duty overview from June 6, 2026 describes Commander threats more broadly, including tanks, drone swarms, Deathstalker helicopters, Juggernauts, and Elite Strike Teams. That overview does not establish a one-to-one match between each of those names and the October guide’s roster. Both sources place AI threats alongside the risk of PvP combat. June 6 overview

How does Hajin’s Threat system work?
When you enter a Point of Interest (POI), its local Threat level appears beneath the compass. The October guide describes Threat as a signal of expected AI danger: disruptive combat raises it, and higher levels can bring more dangerous and more numerous enemies. Low is the least problematic level in a location that has enemies; Extreme is the highest. The indicator is not a complete encounter script, since individual POIs may have unique encounters.

The guide says sustained aggression can provoke retaliation. Reducing aggressive actions, taking cover, leaving the area, moving toward rural surroundings, using stealth, or breaking visual or audible contact can help calm the situation. It also presents stealth eliminations with melee weapons, throwing knives, or suppressed shots as ways to move through higher-Threat areas without being noticed. These are the guide’s recommendations, not guaranteed outcomes.
Threat does not measure PvP danger. Human Operators are excluded from the indicator, so a low AI Threat reading cannot rule out an ambush or another squad. Call of Duty’s October guide explicitly warns players to stay alert for other Operators.

What the HUD and Tac-Map tell you
These displays answer different operational questions. Use them together rather than treating any one signal as a complete picture.
| Display | What it indicates | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Local Threat indicator | Expected AI danger in the current POI; higher levels can mean more numerous and dangerous enemies. | Check it on entry and adjust your approach. It does not include human Operators. |
| Tac-Map | Mission objectives, POIs, critical threat areas, enemy compounds and key buildings, ammo and armor caches, radiation, your position and heading, nearby enemies, and pings. | Plan movement and objectives; use its grid to coordinate locations. The official guide’s example is D7 for Imjin Farmland. |
| Hostiles Kill Count | A meter tied to hostile kills. The guide says that when it fills, an enemy Hunt Squad is dispatched and you become Marked for Death. | Monitor it as combat continues; filling the meter signals a specific escalation. |
| Time and radiation indicator | Time remaining and the spreading radiation storm. | Watch conditions and look for an exfil point as the storm intensifies. |
| Stealth Meter | AI detection progress, with an audio cue and HUD indicator changing from white to yellow to orange as an enemy gets closer to spotting you. | When the signal warns that an enemy is close to spotting you, get low or return to cover. |
The June 6 overview says improved AI can coordinate in squads, navigate, react, and pressure Operators. A lone AI may take cover and hold position, freeze, or try to break line of sight. The overview particularly recommends the Stealth Meter as useful for solo players; its color and audio cues are warnings to change position before the hostile becomes alerted. The broader HUD also shows objectives, a compass, squad status, DMZ Cash, equipment, and weapons. The Forward Operating Base (FOB) is the between-operation hub; the June overview lists storage, crafting, weapon purchasing, a firing range, bounty boards, and upgrade systems among its services.
How to prepare and respond to escalation
- Check the POI’s Threat level on entry. Treat it as an AI warning, not an all-clear on rival Operators.
- Plan with the Tac-Map. Locate objectives, compounds, nearby enemies, caches, radiation, and a route using map grid references when coordinating.
- Use stealth and cover when avoiding detection. If the Stealth Meter and audio cue indicate an AI is close to spotting you, get low or return to cover.
- Break contact if the fight grows beyond your control. The official guide recommends reducing aggression, taking cover, leaving the area, moving toward rural surroundings, or using stealth to calm a situation.
- Watch escalation signals. A filled Hostiles Kill Count means the guide says an enemy Hunt Squad is dispatched and you become Marked for Death. Keep an eye on time and radiation as well, and seek an exfil point as conditions worsen.
- Weigh the risk of taking a Lieutenant’s Dog Tag Case. The Case appears on the Tac-Map for every Operator; picking it up broadcasts your position. The guide calls fast exfil the safest option after taking it.
- Approach Commander fights as potential multi-squad engagements. Nearby forces, rival Operators, or squads hunting the same target may join the fight. The guide advises controlling the area and being ready to disengage if the encounter becomes insurmountable.
Choose exposure based on the objective
The official guidance describes tradeoffs, not a universally best route. Stealth can limit attention but may take more care; direct combat can raise local Threat and invite retaliation. Staying in a high-Threat POI means accepting the prospect of stronger or more numerous AI, while leaving may interrupt an objective. A Lieutenant’s Case offers an objective but exposes your position once collected, making a quick exfil the safer choice according to the guide. Neither official source reports tested success rates for these approaches.
