Distill.io already offers a free plan, so it may be enough to monitor Indian tender pages—but its cloud checks run no more often than every six hours, and a portal that requires a CAPTCHA or interactive search may not be monitorable as a simple page. Check the plan limits against your needs, identify the official portals for the tenders you follow, and verify alerts on a low-risk page before relying on them.
What Distill Free includes
Distill’s pricing page lists its Free plan at $0 and describes it as suitable for testing and non-essential use. These are the published limits checked on October 3, 2026; plans and allowances can change. See Distill’s pricing page for current terms.

| Free-plan allowance | Published limit | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Monitors | 25 overall, including 5 cloud monitors | The total does not mean all 25 run on Distill’s cloud servers. |
| Cloud check interval | 6-hour minimum | A cloud monitor cannot check more frequently than this on Free. |
| Cloud checks | 1,000 per month | Cloud checks draw on the plan’s monthly resources. |
| Devices | 2 | Distill lists two devices on Free. |
| Email alerts | 30 per month | Email notifications are capped. |
| Phone push notifications | 100 per month | Push notifications are capped separately. |
Distill distinguishes browser-extension and desktop-app monitoring on your own device from monitoring on its cloud servers. Its pricing page says browser-extension checks are unlimited, while cloud checks are restricted. The six-hour minimum applies to cloud checks; local checks depend on your device and how you configure them, rather than following that cloud interval in the same way. A local monitor also depends on the device and browser or app being available to perform its checks.
Choose the official tender pages you actually need
Indian public tenders are not all listed in one place. The National Informatics Centre (NIC) describes the Central Public Procurement Portal (CPPP) as a portal used by central ministries and departments, central public-sector enterprises, and autonomous or statutory bodies to publish tender enquiries. Its Government eProcurement System page lists 31 States and Union Territories and 700+ central procuring entities; NIC does not state a year for those figures on that page, so they should not be read as a measured 2026 count. See NIC’s Government eProcurement System information.

The National Government Services Portal separately describes a search for active tenders from state and central government organizations. Its listed search parameters include project location, organization name or type, product category, and tender type; tender results can include a serial number, expiry date, title, and department. The active tender search service is therefore useful for finding relevant sources, but it does not make every organization’s tender workflow a single static page.
Before configuring a monitor, make a list of the organizations and tender types that matter to you. A central ministry notice, a state department tender, and a specialized organization’s procurement page may live on different systems. CPPP ePublishing facilitates central government organizations publishing tender enquiries, corrigenda, and award-of-contract details; its ePublishing page describes that scope.

Can Distill detect notices, corrigenda, and deadline changes?
It can alert you to changes it can access and detect on a monitored page, but the available information does not establish that Distill reliably handles every Indian tender portal or tender workflow. No live tender workflow was tested, and there is no verified missed-tender rate, accuracy statistic, or evidence that using a monitor improves procurement outcomes.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Some official pages provide useful context, not proof of third-party monitoring performance. The CPPP active-tender search page asks users to provide a CAPTCHA to list active tenders. A monitor that only revisits a page may encounter that gate instead of the results, or may miss changes that appear only after submitting a search or applying filters. That is a limitation inferred from the portal interface, not a tested Distill result. The Government eProcurement System homepage says latest corrigendum updates every 15 minutes, but that statement does not show that an outside monitor can detect every update on that schedule.

- Used Book in Good Condition
The eProcurement System of India says: “The eProcurement System of India enables the Tenderers to download the Tender Schedule free of cost and then submit the bids online through this portal.” A change monitor is not a substitute for checking the official tender record, downloading the schedule, or following the portal’s bidding process.
Configure a useful monitor and verify it before relying on it
Distill documents browser-extension, desktop-app, and cloud-server monitoring, along with notification routes including email, SMS, mobile push, Discord, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and other apps through webhooks. It also describes visual selection and conditions such as matching text or a regular expression. These options could help focus a monitor on a tender title, status, corrigendum, or closing-date region; no tender page was tested to confirm a particular setup.

- THREAT DETECTION – Stay one step ahead. Suspicious links, risky sites, viruses, and scams, caught automatically before they reach you.
- PERSONAL INFO PROTECTION – Keep your personal info safer. Identity monitoring watches for your exposed info and tells you what to do about it.
- SECURE CONNECTIONS – Just a few easy clicks, and we'll automatically protect your info on public Wi‑Fi, every time you connect.
- GUIDED ACTION – Know what matters and what to do next. Clear alerts and simple guidance make it easy to take action.
- MORE THAN ANTIVIRUS – Scam protection, identity monitoring, VPN, web protection, and antivirus work together to protect you, all in one place.
- Start from the official source. Open the tender listing or notice page from the relevant government portal, and determine whether it can be reached without login, CAPTCHA, a search submission, or filters.
- Pick where checks run. Use a browser extension or desktop app if you want local monitoring and can keep the relevant device available. Use a cloud monitor if you need Distill’s servers to check remotely, subject to the Free plan’s five cloud monitors, six-hour minimum interval, and monthly check allowance.
- Limit the monitored area. Where the page allows it, select the part containing the tender title, status, corrigendum, or closing date. Consider a text or regular-expression condition for the specific title or status you need. Avoid relying on a whole-page change if unrelated updates create noise.
- Choose a notification route within its cap. Set an alert destination and account for Free’s monthly email and push limits. Distill also documents other notification integrations; check their availability and terms for your configuration.
- Run a low-risk test. Confirm the monitor can reach the page and that a genuine change to the relevant listing produces an alert you can interpret. Check that routine page changes do not drown out the useful signal.
- Continue checking the official record. Before acting on a deadline or corrigendum, confirm it on the tendering authority’s official page. A monitor is a convenience, not an authoritative notice channel.
How to choose between Distill and another monitor
Use the same practical checks for any website-change service rather than choosing on a free-tier headline alone.
- Coverage: Count the portals and pages you need, including separate central, state, GeM, railway, or organization-specific systems where relevant.
- Execution: Decide whether checks should run on an online browser or desktop you control, or remotely in a provider’s cloud.
- Frequency and quota: Compare the minimum interval, included checks, number of monitors, and whether checks use a shared allowance. Distill Free’s cloud minimum is six hours.
- Signal quality: Check whether you can isolate the listing or corrigendum region and set conditions to reduce irrelevant alerts.
- Access constraints: Determine whether the page needs CAPTCHA, login, a submitted search, or other interaction. Self-hosting a monitor does not by itself bypass those restrictions.
- Delivery and verification: Compare notification channels and caps, then test whether a real change creates a useful alert that you can confirm against the official portal.
Visualping, changedetection.io, and Wachete are names a reader could evaluate as website-change-monitoring candidates. Current free allowances, operation against CAPTCHA-protected Indian tender pages, and suitability for a particular tender workflow are not established here. For changedetection.io, running a self-hosted service also means taking responsibility for setup and maintenance; it does not inherently solve access controls.
ScreenshotNeo as an alternative to try first
ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server for developers, not a tender alerting or website-change monitoring service. It may help when you need a repeatable screenshot of a page for inspection, but it should not be treated as a replacement for change detection or official tender alerts. Its stated differentiator is that it removes known consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before a capture, bills only clean shots, and offers an MCP server for AI agents. See ScreenshotNeo and its documentation.
For an accessible page, a one-call capture looks like this:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://eprocure.gov.in/cppp/ -o shot.webp
A screenshot can document what a page showed at capture time; it does not monitor that page on a schedule or confirm that a tender notice is complete. CAPTCHA or search steps may also prevent a useful capture. ScreenshotNeo says bot checks/CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and its API response indicates the page verdict and billing status.
ScreenshotNeo’s free plan includes 1,000 shots per month with no card, and paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots. To try the API, sign up for ScreenshotNeo’s free plan.
Decision rule
Distill Free is a reasonable first trial if your monitor count, local-versus-cloud needs, six-hour minimum for cloud checks, and alert caps fit the job. If they do not, compare other monitors against the same criteria. In either case, verify a genuine change on the exact official tender page before relying on an alert, and confirm any notice or deadline directly with the issuing authority.
