How to search for DISH Anywhere on a Samsung TV

Connect the TV to the internet. Sign in to a Samsung account if prompted; Samsung says an account is required to access the app store.

Press Home on the remote, open Apps, and search for DISH Anywhere. Samsung’s app-install instructions describe searching from the TV’s Home screen, selecting the app, and choosing Install if it is available. Menu names and steps can vary by model and software version. Samsung’s installation guidance also notes that features and availability can vary by region.

If the app installs, open it and sign in as required. DISH says DISH Anywhere uses the home internet connection to communicate with a Hopper DVR.

What it means if the app does not appear
DISH says DISH Anywhere is available on “many Smart TVs,” but its supported-device page does not identify Samsung models or confirm availability across Samsung’s TV lineup. That means the app’s absence from your Apps search does not necessarily indicate a setup problem; availability can depend on the model, software version, and region.
A May 2025 Samsung Community thread about the DU6950 includes one owner’s report that they could not find DISH Anywhere. A Samsung moderator replied that an app missing from Smart Hub may not have a compatible version for that model. Check the TV’s model and software version, and keep in mind that app catalogs can differ by region. Samsung says these factors affect available apps and features.

If Smart Hub or the Apps interface is malfunctioning, restarting the TV or resetting Smart Hub may help with that problem. It cannot make an app compatible if Samsung’s catalog does not offer a version for the TV.
Use DISH Anywhere through Fire TV Stick if the Samsung app is missing
DISH explicitly lists Amazon Fire TV Stick as a way to watch DISH Anywhere on a TV. This is an external-device option: you use the app on the Fire TV device rather than install it in Samsung Smart Hub. If you already own a supported Fire TV Stick, it may avoid buying another device; if not, a separate purchase may be needed. DISH’s page does not establish device prices or compare performance.

DISH also lists Apple TV, iPhone and iPad, Android devices, and computer/browser access as platform options. The page does not establish a particular screen-mirroring or casting method for Samsung TVs, so those should not be assumed to work as a substitute for a listed app. See DISH’s DISH Anywhere platform information.

Check your DISH service and DVR requirements
DISH says DISH Anywhere is included with DISH satellite service and a Hopper 2 or Hopper 3 DVR. Its description explains that the device or computer uses the home internet connection to send requests to the Hopper. Check that your subscription and DVR meet those stated requirements before troubleshooting an app sign-in or viewing issue.
