What Does Lost Verification Mean for MEE6?
“Lost verification” can mean different things depending on what you’re seeing. In practice, admins encounter these scenarios:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- MEE6 no longer appears verified/connected in the server (bot not present, or features aren’t available as expected).
- New members can’t complete verification (CAPTCHA/verification flow doesn’t trigger, users never gain the verified role, or they get stuck).
- The verified role isn’t granted even though the verification message appears.
- Verification messages are in the wrong channel or blocked by permissions.
Before you fix anything, identify which symptom you have. That choice determines whether you re-invite the bot or adjust verification settings.

Common Causes (Why MEE6 Loses Verification)
Most “verification lost” incidents come from a permissions or configuration change rather than MEE6 itself.
- Roles or channels changed (deleted verification role, renamed channels, moved bot command channels).
- Discord permission overwrites changed (MEE6 lost Manage Roles, Manage Messages, or View Channel).
- Admin removed MEE6 or revoked permissions after the bot was added.
- Security/anti-bot settings interfere (slowmode, strict anti-spam, other verification bots, or community moderation tools).
- Server owner/roles hierarchy change (the role MEE6 assigns can’t be placed below the bot’s highest role).
- MEE6 dashboard feature settings were reset (e.g., verification module toggled off, channel/role selection cleared).
Pre-Checks: What to Confirm Before You Change Anything
Do these checks first so you don’t chase the wrong problem.
- Check the MEE6 bot is actually in your server. Open your member list or type
@MEE6in Discord to see if it responds. - Confirm a test user can attempt verification. Ask a friend to join or use a second account you control.
- Find the verification message (if it exists). If you can’t locate it, the issue may be channel selection or permissions.
- Check the roles. Make sure the role that should be granted still exists.
Fix 1: Re-check MEE6 Permissions in Discord
MEE6 typically needs a set of permissions to run verification and assign roles. If any are missing, the flow usually breaks silently.

Step-by-step (Discord UI)
- In Discord, open Server Settings (gear icon next to your server name).
- Go to Roles.
- Find the MEE6 bot role. If you don’t see it, look for “MEE6” under Roles or confirm the bot is present (Fix 3).
- Open Permissions for the bot’s role and ensure it has the required capabilities for verification.
- Open Member Permissions for MEE6 if your UI shows it, and make sure overwrites aren’t blocking visibility in the verification channel.
- Confirm Discord’s role hierarchy: the bot’s top role must be higher than the role it assigns during verification (e.g., “Verified”).
Common minimum requirements for verification-style automation usually include: View Channel, Send Messages (in the verification flow channel), and permissions related to roles and message management. Exact needs depend on how your verification is set up in MEE6.
Fix 2: Reconfigure the Verification Feature in the MEE6 Dashboard
If the bot is present but verification no longer works, your MEE6 dashboard settings likely point to the wrong role or channel—or the module got turned off.
Step-by-step (MEE6 dashboard)
- Log into the MEE6 dashboard.
- Select your Discord server from the server list.
- Find the module related to Verification (often named similarly to “Verification” or “Captcha/Verification”).
- Confirm the module is enabled.
- Re-select:
- The Verified role (the exact role name that should be granted).
- The Channel where the verification message or prompts should appear.
- Save changes.
After saving, test with a new join attempt (or kick/rejoin a test account if your server rules allow it). Verification should trigger consistently once the channel and role match what Discord currently has.

Fix 3: Verify the Bot Is Properly Invited and Still Present
If MEE6 was removed, kicked by moderation tooling, or your invite was effectively reworked, verification can appear “lost” because the bot isn’t running on your server anymore.

- Open your Discord server.
- Use member search for mee6 or check the bot list.
- Look in Server Settings → Integrations or any bot management area your UI provides.
- If the bot is missing, re-invite it using the official MEE6 invite flow.
- When re-inviting, ensure you grant the needed permissions (and then re-check Fix 1 immediately after).
If MEE6 is present but verification still doesn’t run, you can skip straight to Fix 2 and Fix 5.
Fix 4: Check Server Settings That Can Break Verification
Even with correct MEE6 config, Discord-level settings and community protections can prevent the bot from completing verification steps.
- Channel permissions: the verification channel must allow MEE6 to view and post.
- Slowmode or rate limits: extreme restrictions can interfere with verification prompts.
- Webhooks/integration restrictions: less common, but some security plugins can block bot messaging.
- Audit log changes: if recent actions show MEE6 permissions being altered, you’ll want to revert those overwrites.
Look for changes made by moderators or bots in the last 24–72 hours. The “who/when” tells you what broke it.
Fix 5: Clear Misconfigurations (Roles, Channels, and Permissions)
This is where most admin time goes. Verification fails when MEE6 tries to grant a role that doesn’t exist anymore, or it tries to post in a channel that no longer matches your config.
Checklist
- Verified role exists (name and ID). If you deleted or replaced it, update MEE6 to the new role.
- Role hierarchy is correct: MEE6’s highest role must be above “Verified”.
- Verification channel exists and matches exactly what you selected in MEE6.
- New member behavior: if you use a “new members” role with restricted permissions, ensure that role still allows the verification interaction.
- Message permissions: if MEE6 is expected to send prompts, it needs the ability to send messages in the chosen channel.
Fix 6: If Your CAPTCHA/Verification Workflow Still Fails
If users see the verification prompt but don’t get the role, you’re likely dealing with role assignment permissions or a channel/interaction mismatch.

What to test
- Join the server from a fresh test account.
- Observe where the verification prompt appears (channel + message visibility).
- Complete the verification step (CAPTCHA/button) and watch whether the member gets the verified role.
- If nothing happens, check:
- Whether the verified role is set correctly in the MEE6 dashboard.
- Whether MEE6 has Manage Roles-type capability in practice (Fix 1).
- Whether the “new members” role is still applied and hasn’t been renamed.
One practical trick: temporarily simplify your setup. Use a single verification channel and a single verified role, then reintroduce restrictions after it works.
When It’s Not MEE6: Other Bots and Security Settings
Sometimes the issue isn’t “lost verification,” it’s competition. Another bot (or server security layer) can block messages, restrict roles, or complete a conflicting verification workflow.
- If you run an anti-spam bot, test whether it removes or overwrites the same roles MEE6 manages.
- If you have a second verification bot, disable it temporarily and re-test with MEE6 alone.
- If you use strict member onboarding rules, confirm they don’t deny interaction with the verification channel.
Discord moderation tools can be extremely effective, but they can also create “verification never finishes” loops.
Comparison: Re-invite vs. Reconfigure
When you’re deciding what to do first, use this rule of thumb.
| What you observe | Most likely cause | Best first fix |
|---|---|---|
| MEE6 isn’t in the server or acts offline | Bot missing / invite broken | Fix 3 |
| MEE6 is present, but verification prompts don’t appear | Wrong channel/module disabled | Fix 2 |
| Prompts appear, but roles aren’t granted | Role hierarchy/permissions mismatch | Fix 1 then Fix 5 |
| Only some users fail verification | Conflicting roles or security bots | Fix 4 and Fix 7 (other bots) |
Troubleshooting Table
Use this when you need fast, practical checks based on the symptom.
| Symptom | What to check | What to change |
|---|---|---|
| Verification never triggers for new members | MEE6 verification module enabled; correct server selected in dashboard | Enable module, confirm server, save |
| Verification prompt appears in the wrong place | Channel selection outdated | Re-select the correct channel in dashboard |
| Verified role doesn’t get assigned | Role exists; role hierarchy; bot permissions | Fix hierarchy and bot role permissions; update role in dashboard |
| Users can see prompt but can’t interact | Channel permissions for “new members” role | Allow required interaction permissions for the onboarding role |
| Verification works for a while then breaks | Recently changed roles/overwrites or a moderator action | Reapply saved role/channel config; audit recent changes |
| Multiple verification bots conflict | Overlapping role grants/removals | Temporarily disable the other verification bot and test |
FAQs
Do I need to re-invite MEE6 if verification broke?
Not usually. Re-inviting is most useful if the bot is missing or its permissions/auth are clearly broken. In most cases, the fastest fix is updating the verification role/channel and ensuring MEE6 has the right role hierarchy and permissions.

What if the verified role was deleted and recreated?
That will break role assignment because MEE6 may still reference the old role. Update the verified role in the MEE6 dashboard and double-check that the new role is below the bot’s highest role in the Discord role hierarchy.
Why do some users get verified but others don’t?
Common causes include conflicting onboarding roles, different permission overwrites, or other bots that modify roles for specific user types. Test with a single fresh account and compare its role list before and after verification.
MEE6 verification prompts appear, but the role never updates. What’s the first thing to check?
Check the role hierarchy and MEE6’s permissions for role management. If MEE6’s top role is below the verified role, it cannot assign it, even if the dashboard is configured correctly.
Will MEE6 verification work if I move channels or rename roles?
Renaming is often okay, but channel/role changes can break verification if the dashboard points to outdated identifiers. After major restructuring, re-check the verification module’s selected channel and verified role.
Bottom Line
“Lost verification” for MEE6 is usually a permissions or configuration mismatch, not a sudden failure of the bot. Confirm the bot is present, re-check its role hierarchy and permissions, then reconfigure the verification module to the correct channel and verified role.
If you still can’t get it working, isolate variables: disable competing verification bots, test with a fresh account, and use the symptom-based troubleshooting table to narrow down exactly what’s blocking the role assignment.
