Je hebt geen aparte app nodig om een nummer te herkennen: Shazam zit ingebouwd in iOS, iPadOS, macOS en watchOS. Op iPhone, iPad en Mac tik je op Herken muziek in het bedieningspaneel. Op Apple Watch gebruik je de app, een complicatie of de slimme stapel. Siri werkt overal waar het beschikbaar is als alternatief. Hieronder staat per apparaat wat je doet, waar je het resultaat terugvindt en welke uitzonderingen gelden.

iPhone en iPad
Herken muziek toevoegen aan het bedieningspaneel
- Open het bedieningspaneel en gebruik de knop om regelaars toe te voegen (bewerkmodus).
- Kies de regelaar Herken muziek.
Een nummer herkennen
- Open het bedieningspaneel, ook vanuit een andere app. Je hoeft Shazam niet eerst te openen.
- Tik op Herken muziek terwijl het nummer speelt.
- Het resultaat verschijnt als melding.
Houd de regelaar ingedrukt en kies Geschiedenis om recente herkenningen te zien. Met de juiste iCloud- en Shazam-instellingen komt het nummer ook in je Shazam-bibliotheek. (Apple Support)

Mac
- Voeg Herken muziek toe aan het bedieningspaneel. Je kunt de regelaar ook naar de menubalk slepen voor snellere toegang.
- Activeer de regelaar terwijl er muziek in de omgeving of via de luidsprekers van de Mac speelt.
- De gevonden track verschijnt als melding en in de lijst Herken muziek.
In die lijst kun je een track openen op Shazam.com, naar Apple Music gaan of een herkende track verwijderen. (Apple Support)

Resultaten terugvinden en synchroniseren
Gebruik je op meerdere apparaten dezelfde Apple Account, dan kunnen nummers die Siri herkende in de geschiedenis van Herken muziek verschijnen. Voor synchronisatie met de Shazam-bibliotheek schakel je Muziekherkenning in iCloud in en stel je iCloud Sync in de Shazam-app in. Op iPhone en iPad kan Shazam een nummer herkennen dat via aangesloten of bedrade koptelefoons speelt, naast muziek uit de omgeving. Daarvoor is wel internet nodig. Speelt er tegelijk andere muziek, dan toont Shazam de track die het als eerste herkent. (Apple Support)

Je kunt een herkend nummer openen in Apple Music. Apple noemt ook koppeling aan een andere streamingdienst en playlist-synchronisatie met Apple Music of Spotify.
