Dino Crisis 2 arrives on PS5 and PS4 through the PlayStation Store on 20 October 2026. The 2000 Capcom survival-action game will also join the PlayStation Plus Premium catalogue at launch. This is the original PS1 game converted for modern consoles—not a remake—with rewind, video filters and quick-save options.
Release date, platforms and price
Dino Crisis 2 is scheduled for digital release on both PS5 and PS4 on 20 October 2026. PlayStation Plus Premium members are expected to be able to play it on that same date as part of the monthly catalogue update.

Push Square reports an expected standalone price of about £7.99 in the UK or $9.99 in the US. Those figures are an expected price rather than a confirmed final listing, so check the PlayStation Store in your region when the game goes live. The report does not establish cross-buy terms, resolution, frame rate or save-transfer behaviour.
What version is coming to PS5?
This release is a PS1 port. It preserves the original game rather than rebuilding its graphics, controls or systems as a modern remake. The conversion adds convenience features designed for current hardware:
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Rewind: lets you reverse recent gameplay when a mistake or failed encounter would otherwise force a longer replay.
- Video filters: offer display options intended to change how the original-era image looks on a modern screen.
- Quick saves: provide a faster way to preserve progress than relying only on the original save structure.
There is no published performance testing for this port yet, and the available announcement does not specify its resolution, frame-rate target or whether progress can move between PS4 and PS5 versions.
PlayStation Plus Premium access versus buying it
| Way to play | What is established | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation Plus Premium | Day-one catalogue availability is scheduled for 20 October 2026. Access depends on an active Premium subscription and the game remaining in the regional catalogue. | Players who already subscribe and want to try the port without a separate purchase. |
| Standalone digital purchase | Expected at about £7.99/$9.99, subject to the final regional store listing. | Players who want to keep access without relying on a subscription catalogue. |
| Original PS1 copy | The 2000 Japan and North America release, followed by Europe in 2002, remains a separate collecting option. | Collectors who want original hardware or a physical copy. |
Premium catalogue rules, regional availability and the final store price should be verified locally. The announcement confirms the planned inclusion, but it does not promise that every territory will display identical catalogue terms.

Will Dino Crisis 2 have Trophies?
The report says readers should not expect Trophy support for this classic conversion. That means the PS5 and PS4 release may not offer a new Trophy list in the way a modern remaster would. Sony’s store page will be the final place to confirm the feature set at launch.
What this means for the Dino Crisis series
Dino Crisis 2 completes the numbered PlayStation lineup on current Sony consoles: every numbered Dino Crisis game released on PlayStation will then be available on PS5 and PS4. That is useful for players assembling the original trilogy on one system, but it is not an announcement of a new sequel, remake or broader franchise revival. No future Dino Crisis project has been confirmed alongside this port.
