Digi Power X Inc. announced on October 13, 2026, that Goldman Sachs is syndicating a US$200 million debt-financing commitment for the company’s 40 MW artificial-intelligence data center in Columbiana, Alabama. The commitment is intended to complete the project, cover related costs, preserve corporate liquidity and reduce the need for new equity. It is not yet a funded loan: closing is expected within 90 days but remains subject to definitive documents, lender diligence and other conditions.
What Digi Power X announced
The proposed financing would be arranged at a special-purpose vehicle established for the Alabama project. Digi Power X says it will provide an unsecured guarantee through project completion and for limited other matters. The announcement does not identify the eventual lending institution; Goldman Sachs is described as the syndicator.

That structure matters to shareholders. Project-level borrowing can match debt to the assets and cash flows being built, while the guarantee leaves the parent exposed to specified completion obligations. The company’s stated objective is to fund construction without relying as heavily on share issuance.

When the Columbiana data center is scheduled to finish
The campus is planned in two construction phases:
| Phase | Planned IT load | Target completion | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | 15 MW | December 2026 | Initial operating capacity |
| Phase 2 | 25 MW incremental | March 2027 | Expansion to 40 MW total |
Data Center Dynamics reported that construction remained on track and that Cerebras had signed for the site’s full capacity. A signed customer commitment is separate from energized, commissioned and billable capacity, so revenue still depends on construction, equipment delivery, power availability and operations.
#1 Best Overall
- Space Saving: Maximum depth: 14.8". Use the wall mount network cabinet to maximize available space for retail locations, classrooms, back offices, network cabinets, and other locations where space is limited.
- Fast Heat Dissipation: The server cabinet is designed with vents to optimize airflow and avoid critical IT equipment overheating. Heat sink holes in the top, bottom, and rear panels are more conducive to heat dissipation.
- Sturdy Construction: Robust welded frame construction for durability and long service life. With 100 lbs wall-mounted load capacity and 200 lbs ground-mounted load capacity, you can place multiple devices in the server rack cabinet as needed.
- High Security: The locked glass door ensures the security of data and equipment. Wall mount rack enclosure server cabinet is ideal for use in public places such as offices, effectively protecting the security of your devices.
- Hassle-free Installation: Fully adjustable square-hole mounting rails of the wall mount server cabinet facilitate device installation. Wiring holes on the top, bottom, and rear panels provide you with easy cable routing.
Has the $200 million loan already closed?
No. Digi Power X announced a financing commitment, not a completed borrowing. The company expects closing within 90 days of the October 13 announcement, but says the transaction depends on final legal documentation, lender diligence and other closing conditions. Terms could change, or the financing could fail to close.
Until closing, readers should not treat the US$200 million as cash on Digi Power X’s balance sheet or as proof that all construction funding is secured. The relevant milestones are commitment, financial close, drawdown, equipment installation, energization and customer billing.

Those figures explain the financing rationale but do not establish how much cash remains available for the Alabama build, how much of the commitment will be drawn, or the final interest rate and repayment schedule. The commitment is meant to preserve corporate liquidity and limit potential shareholder dilution, while adding future debt obligations.

Who will use the site and what technology is involved?
Cerebras is the disclosed customer for the entire planned site. Digi Power X also says its first ARMS 200 modular data center has operated successfully since May 2026 in support of its GPU bare-metal business. Through a partnership with Super Micro Computer, customers can obtain dedicated bare-metal access to NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs without building or managing the underlying infrastructure themselves.
The company plans to expand what it calls AI-token-factory infrastructure through its NeoCloudz platform and proprietary ARMS modular systems. It has also described plans to repurpose New York sites for similar workloads using closed-loop cooling intended to reduce routine evaporative water use. These expansion and repurposing plans are forward-looking, not completed capacity.

What the financing means for DGXX shareholders
- Less immediate equity pressure: Debt can fund project costs without issuing shares, supporting the company’s stated goal of limiting dilution.
- More obligations: Interest, principal repayment, covenants and the parent guarantee could constrain future flexibility.
- Execution remains decisive: Delays, cost overruns, equipment or GPU shortages, labor constraints, permitting, power availability and customer performance can affect returns.
- Demand is not guaranteed: AI and high-performance-computing demand, economic conditions and interest rates could change before or after the facility becomes operational.
Digi Power X Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Michel Amar called the commitment an important step toward completing the Alabama campus while limiting dilution, and said the company was moving from infrastructure development toward revenue generation. Those are management statements about expected progress, not guarantees of completion or profitability.
How to read the project’s progress
For a clearer view of risk, track these milestones separately:
- Financial close: definitive documents are signed and conditions are satisfied.
- Drawdown: the project special-purpose vehicle actually receives debt proceeds.
- Construction completion: each 15 MW and 25 MW phase is physically finished.
- Energization and commissioning: power, cooling, networking and computing systems operate as designed.
- Billable service: contracted customer capacity is delivering paid workloads.
The Alabama announcement currently establishes a financing commitment, a two-phase 40 MW plan and a disclosed full-capacity customer. It does not establish that the debt has closed, that all 40 MW is energized, or that the project is already generating its planned revenue.
