The claim that Huawei sold 449,800 Pura X View phones in China in about a month is not substantiated by the available reports. Huawei’s official notice confirms the phone went on sale on September 9, 2026, but does not disclose that sales total. The reported figures that can be traced are different: more than 180,000 first-day sales, attributed to an unnamed source, and an unofficial estimate of about 282,000 first-week activations.
Is 449,800 an official sales figure?
No. Huawei’s China launch notice confirms the Pura X View’s sale date, but does not state that 449,800 units were sold. The reviewed coverage does not establish where that exact figure came from, what it measures, or what period it covers. It should not be presented as a verified month-long sales total.

Huawei’s official launch notice says reservations opened on August 20, paid presales began August 28, and sales began September 9, 2026. The notice also said Huawei planned to formally unveil the phone at a September 7 event.
What figures have been reported?
| Figure | What it measures | Attribution and limitation |
|---|---|---|
| More than 180,000 | First-day sales on September 9, 2026 | Xinhua reported the figure on September 10, attributing it to an unnamed informed source. It is not identified as an official Huawei disclosure. |
| About 282,000 | First-week activations | IT Home reported the estimate on September 18, relaying a claim by Weibo blogger 数码闲聊站. The underlying dataset was not provided, and activations are not necessarily equivalent to sales, shipments, or sell-through. |
| 449,800 | Unclear | The reviewed reporting does not establish a source, measurement, or time window for this exact figure. |
These reports use different measures and time windows. Do not add the first-day sales figure to the first-week activation estimate: the figures may overlap, and they are not the same metric. Neither report is an independently audited Huawei sales disclosure.

What is the Huawei Pura X View?
Huawei markets the Pura X View in China as a wide-screen, non-folding smartphone. Its product page lists a starting price of ¥5,999 and describes a 16:9.5 display, HarmonyOS 7, and Huawei’s XMAGE imaging system. The rear camera system includes a 200-megapixel main camera alongside telephoto and ultra-wide cameras.
Huawei lists battery capacity as 7,000 mAh typical and 6,815 mAh rated; these are distinct capacity ratings, not competing sales figures. See Huawei’s Pura X View product page and official specifications for the published details.

What can be concluded about its China sales?
The evidence supports a cautious summary, not a definitive month-long total: Xinhua reported more than 180,000 first-day sales from an unnamed source, while IT Home relayed an unofficial estimate of about 282,000 first-week activations. Neither verifies 449,800 units sold in roughly a month, and Huawei’s official materials cited here confirm the launch and product details rather than that total.
