MARA’s filings do not verify an $81.1 million bitcoin transfer to Galaxy Digital. They do document substantial bitcoin sales and a shift in resource allocation toward artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC), but neither establishes that the alleged transaction occurred or identifies Galaxy as a recipient.
Is the $81.1 million Galaxy Digital transfer confirmed?
No. The reviewed company filings do not confirm an $81.1 million transfer to Galaxy Digital. They do not establish a transaction date, bitcoin quantity, wallet, valuation basis, recipient, or whether the reported headline claim refers to a sale, loan, collateral movement, or custody transfer. Without a primary transaction record or company disclosure, the claim should be treated as unverified.

MARA’s reported bitcoin lending and collateral arrangements are not evidence of a transfer to Galaxy. The filings identify no connection between those arrangements and the alleged transaction.

What MARA reported about bitcoin in the first half of 2026
In its second-quarter 2026 Form 10-Q, MARA reported that it sold approximately 23,093 bitcoin for $1.6 billion in proceeds during the six months ended June 30, 2026. The company said it sells bitcoin produced by mining on an ongoing basis and may sell additional holdings depending on market conditions and capital-allocation priorities. These disclosed sales are separate from the unverified Galaxy claim. MARA’s second-quarter 2026 Form 10-Q

As of June 30, 2026, MARA reported 35,577 bitcoin on its balance sheet. That total included 9,270 bitcoin under its digital asset management strategy. It separately reported 4,742 bitcoin loaned to third parties and 4,528 pledged as collateral.

The balance, lending, collateral, and sales figures describe different positions or activities; they should not be combined or read as a single transfer. MARA’s 10-Q also cites a significant decline in bitcoin prices as context for its restructuring plan.

Why MARA says it is shifting resources toward AI and HPC
MARA said it began a restructuring plan during the six months ended June 30, 2026, to reallocate resources toward AI initiatives and related critical IT and HPC opportunities. Its filing describes bitcoin as both a long-term asset and a source of liquidity, and says the company may sell additional holdings in light of market conditions and capital-allocation priorities. This supports describing a strategic expansion and resource shift—not a verified abandonment of bitcoin mining. The filings reviewed do not say that the alleged Galaxy transfer funded, enabled, or resulted from the AI/HPC strategy.
