Use 10–15 m² as a starting point
For a small bedroom, study or similarly sized room, the manufacturer’s 10–15 m² recommendation is the most specific fit guidance available for this exact model. Measure the floor area rather than guessing from the room’s appearance. If the room is open to a hallway, has high ceilings, receives strong afternoon sun or contains several computers, the effective cooling load is higher than the floor area alone suggests.
When the rating is likely to feel marginal
- A room larger than 15 m² or one connected to other spaces through open doors.
- Large unshaded windows, a poorly sealed window kit or significant air leakage around the hose.

Closing doors and curtains, reducing direct sun and sealing gaps around the window panel can matter as much as the nominal wattage. A portable unit must continually remove the heat entering through the window and hose opening; it cannot overcome unlimited heat gain.

- Choose the window and outlet position. Put the appliance close enough to the window for the 150 cm hose to reach without stretching. Leave the clearances specified in the manual around the cabinet and air inlets.
- Fit the supplied window kit. Assemble the included panel or adapter according to the manual and close gaps as far as the design allows. A loose panel lets hot outdoor air back into the room.
- Attach the hose without crushing it. Keep the route as short and straight as practical. Sharp bends and flattened sections restrict exhaust airflow and can reduce cooling.
- Keep the cabinet level and movable. Place it on a stable floor where the casters, if fitted, can roll safely. Do not place it where water, curtains or furniture block the intake or outlet.

The two-speed fan circulates air without providing the same cooling effect as compressor operation. It can be useful after the room has cooled or when you want air movement with less compressor cycling. Fan speed is not the same as a published airflow test; Devanti lists 225 m³/h as airflow for the appliance.

Availability, warranty and buying checks
Devanti’s exact PAC-A-14K-WH page currently shows the product as sold out. That does not prove that every retailer has no remaining stock, but current retailer-wide availability has not been established. CHOICE’s public page for the related NEW variant marks that product discontinued.
