One reported offer is an HP Omen 35L gaming desktop listed at $2,799 against a stated prior price of $4,999—but that report alone does not establish the exact configuration, current seller, or whether the offer is a good value. Compact and office mini PCs
TechRadar’s current Prime Big Deal Days coverage also includes compact and office mini PCs. Those systems may suit productivity tasks or space-constrained desks better than a gaming tower, but the coverage summary available here does not provide verified model-by-model prices or configurations. How to tell whether a desktop PC price is actually good
Match the configuration before comparing prices
For gaming towers, start with the exact graphics card and processor, then check memory capacity and type, storage, cooling, and chassis configuration. Two PCs with the same product-family name can differ substantially in performance and upgrade options. Compare the same configuration against its own recent price history and equivalent systems from other sellers—not just against a struck-through price.

- READY TO PLAY OUT OF THE BOX - Arrives fully assembled and tested with Windows 11 Home pre-installed, so your prebuilt gaming computer is ready to set up in minutes. Assembled in the USA, and backed by a one-year limited warranty and lifetime free technical support.
For office or compact PCs, begin with the work the machine must handle. Check its physical size, memory, storage, ports, and whether the components can be upgraded. A lower price is not a saving if the system lacks the capacity or connections you need.
Check the seller, terms, and live listing
- Confirm the exact model and component configuration in the listing.
- Check who is selling the desktop, not just which retailer hosts the listing.
- Review warranty and return terms where they are stated.
- Compare the live price with recent history and other sellers offering the same configuration.
- Recheck availability and price before checkout; event offers can change.
How to interpret Amazon’s reference price and price history
Amazon says its displayed savings may be calculated against a verified reference price: either a List Price or a Typical Price based on recent customer prices. That makes the badge useful context, but it does not by itself show whether a particular desktop is a strong buy. Check that the reference applies to the same configuration. Amazon says its price-history display can show a product’s 30-day, 90-day, or 365-day low. Those windows help put a current listing in context, but they do not establish an all-time low or predict what the price will be later. Amazon also says more than 50 million customers have used the tool; that is an Amazon-published figure, not an independent measure of its accuracy. Amazon’s price-history information
Amazon further reported that more than 80% of deals during its most recent Prime Day were at Amazon’s lowest price of the year so far. That is Amazon’s claim about deals overall, not an independent statistic about desktop PCs, and it does not establish that a particular desktop price will not return.
