The De’Longhi Pinguino PAC EM93K SILENT is a 10,500 BTU/h (2.6 kW) portable air conditioner with cooling, fan and dehumidifying modes. De’Longhi says it suits rooms up to 90 m³, but that is a manufacturer suitability figure, not a guarantee of performance in every room. The GB listing publishes a 47–50 dB(A) sound-pressure range; that does not establish that it will be quiet enough for every bedroom. This assessment covers the GB model PACEM93K.1SILENT, not every product sold under a similar EM93K name.
Which PAC EM93K model does this review cover?
De’Longhi’s Great Britain product page identifies the Pinguino EM Series unit as PACEM93K.1SILENT (SKU 0151457014). Its official support center also lists materials for that model. An older specification sheet uses PAC EM93K. Regional suffixes and energy disclosures can differ, so check the model code and local product fiche before applying these specifications to another listing.

What room size can it cool?
For the GB PACEM93K.1SILENT, De’Longhi publishes a cooling capacity of 10,500 BTU/h (2.6 kW) and says the unit is suitable for rooms up to 90 m³. The BTU figure was tested at 35°C and 80% relative humidity; the kW figure at 35°C and 40% relative humidity, under EN14511. The 90 m³ figure is the manufacturer’s stated suitability, not a guaranteed room-size recommendation or promise of a particular temperature.
Room conditions and installation affect results. Before buying, consider the room’s heat load and whether you can route the exhaust hose through a window and seal the opening effectively. A customer’s report of weak cooling and another customer’s report of comfortable temperature are individual experiences, not controlled comparisons.

Is the PAC EM93K SILENT quiet enough for a bedroom?
De’Longhi lists minimum and maximum sound pressure of 47/50 dB(A) for the GB PACEM93K.1SILENT. Sound pressure is not the same measurement as sound power: an older PAC EM93K specification sheet gives a maximum sound-power figure of 63 dB(A). These figures should not be directly compared as if they describe the same measure.
De’Longhi describes the airflow as quiet and suitable for use in any situation; that is the manufacturer’s marketing claim, not independent proof of bedroom comfort. Customer comments mentioning noise are anecdotal, and the published figures do not establish whisper-quiet operation. If you are noise-sensitive, compare like-for-like sound-pressure figures and fan settings across models, and check that the seller’s return terms suit you.

A portable AC needs its exhaust routed outside; the PACEM93K.1SILENT listing includes a window kit and a 1,250 mm hose. Customer feedback specifically mentions the need to route the hose through a window. Plan the route before purchase: hose reach, window type and the ability to close or seal the remaining opening all affect whether the setup will work in your room. Do not assume a separately sold seal or extension will fit without confirming compatibility.

Is it easy to move?
The GB product listing gives a weight of 26.5 kg and lists castors and handles. A separate older sheet gives 31.5 kg for PAC EM93K, so it should not be treated as the definitive weight for the GB suffix. One eBay reviewer described the appliance as heavy and difficult to maneuver alone over carpet; that is a single purchaser’s account, not a general mobility test. Consider the floor surfaces, thresholds and storage location in your home, rather than relying on castors alone.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What do customer reviews establish?
The customer evidence available for this model is sparse and mixed. A ManoMano listing displayed 3.5/5 from four reviews; one July 2026 reviewer felt cooling was weak, while another praised maintaining a comfortable temperature and noted the window hose arrangement. An eBay listing showed three ratings, including a verified purchaser who reported useful cooling and remote control but found the unit heavy over carpet. These small samples are anecdotes, not evidence of typical performance, reliability or comparative quality.

What should you check before choosing it?
- Confirm the exact model suffix on the appliance listing and local product fiche; the GB figures above are for PACEM93K.1SILENT.
- Compare cooling capacity and stated room volume with your room and its heat load, treating the 90 m³ suitability as a manufacturer claim rather than a guarantee.
- Compare sound-pressure measurements at comparable settings; do not substitute a sound-power figure.
- Check that the supplied window kit and 1,250 mm hose can be installed and sealed at your window.
- Assess the 26.5 kg GB-listed weight against the route over your floors and any steps.
- Verify the local energy label, seller, stock, voltage, included accessories, warranty and return terms.
