Drink range: what the 18 recipes mean in practice
The value proposition is the breadth of one-touch choices. The menu is intended to cover espresso-based drinks, longer black coffees, milk drinks, and cold beverages without requiring separate manual preparation. The manufacturer’s count is 18 recipes, but a recipe count should not be read as 18 fully independent brewing mechanisms: several drinks use the same grinder, brewer, and milk hardware with different programmed volumes or sequences.

Four drink sizes and five intensity options let you choose a smaller or larger serving and a lighter or stronger programmed dose. The automatic LatteCrema carafe is intended to handle milk drinks at the touch of a button. De’Longhi says it offers three foam textures, allowing a denser or airier result within the presets. Cold-drink availability is one of the Magnifica Plus’s distinguishing conveniences. Cleary specifically praised the cold-drink options alongside the milk menu. The sources do not provide laboratory measurements for ice dilution, serving temperature, or the time required for each cold recipe, so treat those as menu features rather than quantified performance claims.
Interface, profiles, and customization limits
Ideal Home’s Cleary found the display straightforward and the one-touch menu convenient. Her exact description was: “The Magnifica Plus is similar to the brand’s leading Rivelia product, but with a marginally dialed down user interface.” That comparison means the Plus retains a similar convenience concept while offering fewer customization choices than that pricier model; it does not establish that one machine makes objectively better espresso or will last longer.
Four user profiles are practical when several people share the machine. Each person can keep preferred drink settings without repeatedly changing the menu. The manufacturer does not say that profiles permit unlimited recipe authoring. The official listing instead makes clear that users cannot create wholly new recipes, so profiles should be viewed as saved preferences within the supplied drink framework.

The grinder, intensity, size, and milk-texture controls offer meaningful adjustment for a superautomatic machine, but they remain bounded by De’Longhi’s programmed recipes. Cleaning and daily ownership
Automatic milk preparation does not remove the need for cleaning. Cleary’s principal criticism was the plastic milk carafe: she said it needs thorough cleaning after every use. That is an important ownership cost in time and attention, especially if the household makes several milk drinks each day. Rinsing or washing only the outside is not an adequate interpretation of her warning; the milk-contact parts need the cleaning routine specified for your model.
The US listing says removable components are dishwasher-safe, which can reduce effort, but check the manual for which parts may go in the dishwasher and where they should be placed. Milk residue can harden in connectors and outlets, so follow the machine’s rinse prompts and disassemble the carafe as directed rather than waiting for visible buildup.
The machine supports a water filter and programmable water hardness. De’Longhi’s US page surfaces the DLSC002 water filter and DLSC200 Decalk Care descaler alongside the product. The US ECAM32070SB listing gives 17.5 × 9.5 × 14 inches, a 60.87-ounce reservoir, an 8.82-ounce hopper, 21.5 pounds, 120 V, 1,450 W, and a two-year included warranty. Cleary’s UK-market review reports 24 × 44 × 36 cm, a 1.9-liter tank, a 250-gram bean hopper, 9.8 kg, and a £699.99 RRP at publication on 12 February 2025.
Those differences may reflect regional product versions, measurement conventions, or listing methodology. The UK price is historical and should not be presented as a current US price. Voltage, plug, warranty coverage, menu names, accessories, and service arrangements can all change by market. Verify the exact suffix, seller, dimensions, electrical rating, warranty, and package contents before purchase.

When the US listing was accessed on 13 October 2026, it showed $1,299.95 and out-of-stock status. Because that is a dated observation, check the live listing before budgeting or assuming a retailer can ship immediately. A discount, bundle, or replacement model could materially change the value calculation.

That is a feature-tier comparison, not an objective quality ranking. The available evidence does not show which machine produces better espresso, has more reliable long-term operation, or costs less to maintain.
Choose the Plus when the supported recipes, four profiles, grinder controls, and automatic milk system cover your routine. Consider a higher tier only if you have identified a specific customization or interface function that the Plus lacks; paying more without a concrete need would not address its principal limitation.
