What the CKS1660D is—and what this review can establish
The CKS1660D is De’Longhi’s Livenza programmable slow cooker. De’Longhi describes a removable stovetop-safe pot for searing, braising and sautéing, followed by slow cooking in the base. Its Canadian product page identifies the cooker as 6 quart. CHOICE’s Australian listing gives a claimed capacity of 5.7 L; those are the two sources’ respective capacity descriptions, not a conversion-based promise of usable fill volume.

How the stovetop-safe pot changes the cooking workflow
For recipes that begin by browning meat or sautéing aromatics, the pot is intended to move from the stovetop to the slow-cooker base without transferring ingredients to a separate cooker vessel. De’Longhi specifically promotes searing, braising and sautéing in the pot before slow simmering. This may simplify that workflow for cooks who use those techniques, but it does not establish that the cooker browns better or saves a particular amount of time.

Check your stove type first
The CKS1660D manual text says the pot is suitable for gas and electric stovetops and does not support induction. If you have an induction cooktop, do not assume the pot will work simply because it is removable or metal; this model is not specified as induction-compatible. Confirm the exact regional instructions before using the pot on a hob.
What the pot does not establish
The available product information describes stovetop use but does not establish an oven-safe temperature limit. Do not infer oven suitability from the ability to use the pot on a gas or electric burner. Follow the manual for handling, heat and care instructions.

Controls, timing and Keep Warm
De’Longhi says the programmable cooking time can be set for up to 24 hours. At the end of the cooking period, the cooker automatically switches from Cook to Keep Warm, which the product page specifies for up to 12 hours. The company also describes TrueTemp temperature regulation. These are product claims; the available independent listing does not supply performance scores that verify how consistently the cooker holds a temperature or how food turns out.

The same De’Longhi page promotes a recipe app containing 50 recipes and says the pot is dishwasher-safe. Check the model’s instructions for precise cleaning and handling guidance before placing components in a dishwasher.

The 120 V, 60 Hz rating is specific to the Canadian listing and manual information. Check your local supply and the appliance’s rating label rather than assuming every regional version has the same electrical specification.
Practical limits and safe-use points
The manual advises against cooking frozen food in the cooker and recommends putting at least 1 quart (1 litre) of food into this large-capacity model. Should you consider the DeLonghi CKS1660D?
The CKS1660D’s strongest reason to choose it is the stovetop-capable removable pot: it is designed to let cooks sear or sauté in the cooking vessel before slow cooking. The feature is only useful if your stove is gas or electric, and the evidence does not support a broader claim that the cooker outperforms alternatives. Its programmable timing and automatic warm setting add convenience on paper, while regional stock and electrical compatibility need checking before purchase.
