Dell’s XPS Googlebook is listed in the US at $999.99 to start. That is close to the $999 launch price reported by Android Authority—and $200 below the $1,199 figure Google had previously stated. The $1,199 figure is the earlier comparison, not Dell’s current listed price.

Why is the price lower than expected?
Android Authority reported on October 5, 2026, that Dell’s starting price would be $999 rather than the $1,199 figure Google had previously stated, a $200 difference. Dell’s September 21 announcement also said the laptop would start at $999. Its current US product page displays $999.99. These are distinct figures from different sources and dates, not evidence that Dell currently lists the laptop at $1,199.
